As a UW fan that watched every game, no one talks about how clutch Penix was. The carried the team most of the year, UWs defense and run game were average, that’s why they were 7 point underdogs to Michigan and underdogs vs Texas. Everytime the team needed a play to keep the undefeated season alive he made it. He only had two bad games, Arizona State and Michigan, the rest of the time he was washing people. I hope my Raiders take him at 13. Go Dawgs Fuck Oregon

I watched every game too, except I thought he was not pass happy at all, and did not gloryhog as Dillon Johnson ended up with 1195 yards. I really think they could've beat Michigan had Dillan not been so beat up. I think Penix's ability to not be a selfish player and be willing to pound the Rock, even in the most dire circumstances makes him a more desirable prospect. Should be #1.

I’m a raiders fan. And my fear is if they get this guy, his ceiling is Derek Carr. Accurate at times, throws the ball away or checks down too fast, has a great deep ball, and struggles with pressure and inconsistent. Which means he’s middle of the road QB who can’t help them take the next step. I just don’t wanna take a QB who doesn’t actually level up the players around him. But I realize I’m just shell shocked and maybe just seeing what he is now rather than what he could be. So perhaps unfavorably biased.

Penix is so much different than these other guys who others aren’t hot on that’s been underrated now. All those other guys like Hurts, and Mond are toolsy high upside prospects that needed time in an nfl offense catered to utilize their strengths. Penix is an “elite” quarterback prospect. He already reads defenses, runs an nfl offense, gets the ball out quickly to help his OL, looks off defenders, and most importantly, he makes NFL level throws(back shoulders, fades, deep posts, hole shots) time after time. Some of these top QBs throw maybe 2-5 of those throws a game where Penix throws at least 10-20 high level throws a game. He hard carries his team and elevates his teammates. If you don’t believe that, look at that statistics of his WR before they ever played with Penix? The best one was McMillan and he never eclipsed 500 yds before MP. People say Penix needs a certain offense and I laugh because it’s backwards. Penix can fit any offense and elevate poor talent teams like NE because he’s already been doing it.

Then he was my favorite second tier quarterback even preferred him over Jaden Daniels McCarthy. Then he was lower on my list And seem like he'd be a desperation pic. N now if the Giants draft him I'll be excited for his upside and hope they ball can teach him the necessary skills . Lord voice recognition did in a horrible job

I agree, Penix is an underrated prospect. Obviously, being one of the regular viewers and subscribers that are middle-aged, Penix reminds me of Kenny "Snake" Stabler, but likely not as good. Penix is a gun slinger whose preference is to play outside the offensive system. He frequently looks off his primary target that is usually underneath and prefers to throw deep. A criticism would be his dependency on arm strength, making risky throws down field and trying to outhrow coverage which will not be as available or successful at the next level. He lacks touch and accuracy in the short to intermediate passing game. His approach would frustrate many NFL coordinators and head coaches. As a positive his aggressiveness and mental acumen are above average. A negative is his skill sets bgins and ends with arm strength. If we learned anything from Bill Walsh is that an NFL QB cannot live or die on arm strength alone. His current evaluation for the upcoming draft is QB5 and projects as an effective career backup and anything before the 3rd round is an overdraft. At his inconsistent best he will temind us of Snake, at his more consistent worst, a lefthanded Carson Palmer. Buyer beware!

I think another big concern is he had 3 receivers who most likely none would skip to round 4 with one being one of the best in the draft and his o-line was rated as the best o-line in all of college football this most recent season.

And as for limitations, Tua and by extension the offense dragged the defense's sorry butts to the postseason in spite of Vic Fangio's failure to coach a sufficient modern NFL defensive scheme. Hopes that with a new tight end, more depth on defense, and Anthony Weaver as DC, the Dolphins are destined for a deep playoff run.

I think there are 7 QBs that are first round talent that are not talked about. I also think Caleb Williams will not succeed in Chicago. But first, I'll list the QBs who have first round talent, but a couple of them won't go in the first round. We all know the most talked about Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye. Then there is that second tier of Michael Penix, JJ McCarthy, and Bo Nix. The sleeper is Jordan Travis. If he doesn't break his leg near the end of the season, he would be considered the second or third QB taken. He had Florida State undefeated, and they lost their bowl game to Georgia 63-3 because he wasn't out there. If Caleb Williams goes to Chicago, he will fail. If Jayden Daniels goes to New England, he will fail, and we know Chicago is going to draft Williams Washington should draft Maye and New England should draft JJ McCarthy or Bo Nix because of how cold it gets there. JJ McCarthy played in Michigan, and Bo Nix was in Oregon, where it gets very cold in both places. Chicago could also draft Maye, and Washington could draft Williams. But Chicago has a bad record for developing QB. Mich Tribisky and now Justin Fields. In recent history comes to mind. And you take a warm weather guy and have him try to play in freezing cold weather?! That never pans out well. I'm a Raiders fan, so I wish there was a way for the Raiders to get Jayden Daniels, but I'm also a fan of football, and I want to see Chicago, Washington, and these other QB needy teams get it right. I'm also looking at you, Minnesota. They also need a QB. So, Chicago, Washington, New England, The Raiders, The Vikings, maybe even the Giants and Denver all need QBs. That's 7 teams and 7 QBs. The goal is to match up the right QB with the right team fit. Sadly, that will not happen, but here is who I think would fit best with each team
    Bears- Drake Maye
    Washington- Caleb Williams
    New England Michael Penix
    Raiders Jayden Daniels
    Vikings JJ McCarthy
    Denver Bo Nix
    Giants Jordan Travis
System, scheme fit, location, and coaching would put each of these guys in the position to succeed if they did this.

Had WA lost the TX game, but he played the same, and the MI game never happens... he is being talked about as QB 3 or 4 if the medical clears. If the medical is fine, he is better than Nix and McCarthey. He is a better pure, complete thrower than Maye and Daniels, albeit older. Maye has more upside, Daniels has crazy movement, but for a passing offense... Rams anyone(?) he is the perfect QB to replace Stafford.
