@@prodigyow it's not bench someone and play someone, they just have a 6 man roster. Their coach wanted a 6 man roster and entire team agreed on that suggestion and Stax was onboard too.

The fact that hes even more inconsistent in valorant, is already semi-benched and mn3 is on the academy team ready to take his place again after the collosal failure of 2024 for t1 (numerous upset losses and missing apac playoffs) makes it even sadder
@TheESPER definitely. He would be amazing for t1 considering they've been needing a more consistent player after Sayaplayer and Carpe along with their other stars started becoming super hot and cold and inconsistent, and they also have an in game leader crisis but mostly their stars aren't really playing well from what I've watched.
@daro2404 I watch it on and off. Mostly NA, Bleed and t1 games though less t1 lately after they kept losing and doing weird roster moves. Just my observations. I do watch more CS and OW than the VCT though.
@daro2404 losing to DFM and bleed dropping crazyguy made me watch a lot less pacific tbh but I still try to watch when the timezones match and T1 and Bleed plays. Could very well be wrong about my opinions and I'd love to watch more to understand more but the weekend scheduling and timezone difference is hell for me to keep up with.

2020 was so good for so many redemption arcs (Philly as a team becoming one of the most consistent, Sado, Benbest, Fearless at main tanks, Paris as a team, etc) and the pre-playoffs were honestly hype. It's eternally disappointing that they forced a Roadhog meta that let the literal mid Seoul dynasty make it into top 4 and the Justice ruined so many good teams (Paris (after they lost to ATL, another gatekeeper/mid team), Florida, and Valiant). So many what ifs & robberies, like Lip-Fearless vs SF shock dive/double shield, or if Philly could've gone further after they'd just beaten down the Justice 3-0, or if any of the other 3 teams above could've gotten into playoffs over Seoul.
Can you do a video about Miro, and Jehong, and the inaugural season Seoul? Also, great video, love the format, though I’m not sure there’s any story better than Carpe’s, maybe Shanghai or Profit, but that’s it
maybe a hot take bc this isn’t talked about a lot but maybe a player like Kevster who is alway great in the reg season, and stage finals he doesn’t have a single great playoff performance in his career 2020 they went out 0-2 he struggled, 2021 he was good but not mvp level went out unexpected early after winning stage 4, 2022 was his best team by far, and it was the reaper year he sucked in playoffs, 2023 he obviously didn’t make it nowhere near his fault so he went 2/6 record in playoffs with 2 stacked teams. He’s obviously a s tier player, but if you talk about a choker when it mattered in the biggest playoff games I would consider him similar to Carpe in that regard but at least Carpe made it further than him and has semi final performances in playoffs.
It's sad to see him lose so much. But how many finals were they expected to win? 2018 NYXL was the better team right, and London were London 2018. Against Paris it wasn't expected for the hitscan do carry right? It was a Genji meta. Against Shock he didn't play and against Seoul he only played 2 maps but even still his team got diffed. I don't think there is any way you can put the blame on Carpe for most of the losses. Call it unlucky? idk

@@datnub3273 That’s kevster probably he hasn’t been past second round despite being amazing in reg season/ stage playoffs, main knock on Embiid is never getting past second round ever Carpe did that twice
I feel like what separates Carpe from other all time greats is, he couldn’t carry his team when they were on the back foot, or crumbling around him. He never had a moment of hard carrying his team in a major final ever, he has maps, but he usually was inconsistent or didn’t show up at all at times too. The only pass I’ll give him is 2018 stage 2 nyxl was a significantly better team than Philly was, and Philly way overachieved to go up 2-0, but he still did underperform and didn’t close it. The grand final was seen as a 50/50 game as 2 low seeds out of nowhere got hot, and he got shut down the whole tournament it’s probably the worst superstar grand finals performance in owl history. 2020 summer showdown he was good for sure, but on some maps he went completely invisible he competed well vs Xzi for the most part, but on control maps he was invisible for the most part. I enjoy your content! Let me make that clear! But I feel your benefit from a bit more research. Carpe was fantastic, but best player on Fusion for S3? It’s arguable in the first half, but you made it seem like a done deal; Fury and Alarm were easily up there during the first half and both very clearly overtook him by the second half. And as for not knowing why he fell off the 2nd part of the year, it’s because Tracer-Sombra was meta and his Tracer was simply meh. You acknowledge his Tracer used to be good, acknowledge he was a hitscan prodigy, but then don’t mention that hitscan was no longer meta in the 2nd half of S3! That was the hole that Philly had and all fans of Fusion know it.
Thank you for the feedback! Most considered him the best player on Fusion for most of 2020; but I mentioned in the video how the opinions went more into the direction of Alarm when the season closed. When I was talking about his “fall off” or confusion to him losing MVP status, I was still referring to half way through Summer Showdown (when he was actively in) they played 7 matches after their final where Genji Sombra was the DPS so it does make sense in that regard missing out on that many games.
I (fusion fan) think that Carpe was an amazing player but that he just had some problems with his mental. If I remember correctly he had a habit of just shooting at the walls (no enemies in the vicinity, just a random wall) in frustration when things weren’t going his way. So Carpe: great pop-offs and carries but inconsistent (probably because of a weak mental)
