I went through a MP3 buying craze a few years ago. I got the *cleanest* Toshiba Gigabeat. The case had an explainable rip, the guy kept the screen sticker, and there was like 1 photo a year. I love it so much. *(Not so) fun fact: the guy who reviewed it on CNET got caught in a blizzard and died looking for help. It was the first parasocial death I experienced, and it took me a long time to understand how to deal with it.
hey dank I use an AGPtek as my personal hifi music player for Listening to Flac through vintage boomboxes. I like it most for it's clean sounding output and durability. the battery was the first thing to go in mine now I use it with a little battery back up that's using an 18650 to power it.
You should have seen about swapping parts between the two mp3 players to see if you could get one to work 100% but I guess that would be too much work for a dingus, right?
I'm still rocking an EEEpc as my kitchen PC. Cos any self respecting nerd needs a computer in every room. Sufficient enough. Plays mp3s and displays text. Eventually. Even does UA-cam. At about 4fps. They were slow when new, time has not been kind. In the same way Tony technically is a car. It's a computer, it does compute. It's just dinner is half cooked by the time it decides to say anything.
Bet ya if you hit the photo keychain with 1 grit, it would've demolished that screen. I had a similar one that disappointed me (which I also thought it was an MP3 player) and I didn't want it and hit it with a screwdriver with not much force. Demolished the outer plastic and the inner screen.
Oh god I still have a thomson one. pretty good nick still except I opened it up to see if i could fit a Bluetooth receiver in there. I could not. If I reassemble it it works fine
I'm gonna bet that the cloned MP3 players with dumb names are probably made by the same people who and they just change the name of their company every once in a while just to escape bad reviews or regulators or something and just have the new name a random bunch of letters just so they don't actually have to make a new name.
I bet I know where these come from. that looks like the same type of random junk you find at those electronics recycling bins in front of BestBuy or Target
