Ya know for a fake spanish teacher Chang is a pretty good Spanish Teacher.
He sounded like he knew a decent amount of Spanish

At one point he was teaching them klingon
they probably jus retcon it, like how chang became gay even though he had a wife, or how britta went from being level headed to obsessive idiot and a debbie downer. the writers do have an overall plot for the story but the scripts are written improvised.

man I miss when chang was an agent of chaos, an unhinged maniac. In the later seasons they just turn him into an adult baby
An adult baby that just sometimes do or say something weird. This chang just flat out does insane crap just because. Maybe it changed after his changnesia
he turned psychotic from the monkey bites
I used to think he was great but a bit much, then they toned him way down after season 4 but i feel like they managed to get him back on track in season 5 and 6 but he really did not have a subplot or a character arc
Sadly for me that is the entire theme with Community: In S1, everything was a bit odd, a bit crazy, but still..."realistic". Chang was just an agent of chaos, that weird professor you have to endure.
But as the show progresses and the occassional oddity became the bare minimum, that changed aswell.
It’s amazing how people in the classroom keep a straight face while listening to the monologue :)

That makes the remark about hands even more accurate and funny.!!! 😂
And “hands folks, it’s 90% of Spanish” is more of an Italian stereotype, further underscoring the fact that Chang is a fraudulent Spanish teacher.
He has a little Mexican flag on the table, so I always guessed that the cards were supposed to have a Mexican flag as well. But that only makes it partially better.
Possibly the best monologue in the show's 6 season run.
I think it's the best introduction of a character of all time in any sitcom

I feel like having Chang be a fake teacher was such a bad move for his character. Because even though he was mildly psychotic, he still seemed to know what he was doing.

He went too far with this improv, he was told to tone it down because the show wasn't supposed to be this loud hahaha. They kept this in and reshot it for the angled reactions. Love this man!

The show is absurd and that's why I love it, but the thing that makes It so great is how the carachters always react in realistic ways to absurd situations (evein during paintball war, etc, the actors and their reactions remain beliavable). Some of the are crazier, like the dean, but in a realistic kind of way. Britta is just a big no for me (I mean she is stil great but not as funny ashey they wanted her to be). They just brittated her.

If they ever remake or adapt Remo Williams as a movie or series they need Ken Jeong as Chiun with old man makeup. He can play a man with an extreme ego and the physical ability to back it up. Plus he's a doctor so he probably already knows the Sinanju skills like stopping a persons heart with his pinkie.

If this scene was written and performed today it would be 100% serious and dramatic, it would be all about how stereotypes are bad and anyone that stereotypes is a fascist. Remarkable how much comedy and shows have changed.

I've always thought of that as more of an Italian thing
(There are exceptions, names ending in N and S, also words like: aquí, that require an accent and several words that require a tilthe~~)
