      @@brianrocks7277 and they’ve really gained a lot of notoriety around here as well. I see a lot of videos coming out of the states with them, and some out of Canada as well. This “sounds good music “place is really something special when it comes to brands that a lot of people don’t know about. I’ve got some more videos in the Q that I shot there about a month ago and I might even be making another trip back soon to shoot some more. I’ll keep it coming my friend for sure! I appreciate you watching and dropping a comment! Every little bit helps the algorithm and helps the channel! Say hi to Europe from me. Hoping to be back over there to do some gigging in the next couple years

    Hi Lucas! You make that 12 ring true! Very nice piece and that shows the guitar off well. Now if l can convince my wife l need another guitar....

      Thank you so much for your nice comments on the playing, Chris! Regarding convincing your wife, good luck :-) You know with a 12 string you can always go with the angle that this guitar is different in so many ways from what you already have. That’s my friendly advice. Haha

    If you don't have an affiliation to the traditional US brands, the European brands are definitely worth looking at. I had the chance to play Furch's all mahogany concert model and it holds well up to my Guild M40.

      Hey Thomas! It’s nice to see you around here again. I hope you’re doing well! Well said, and I couldn’t agree more. These days we have so many nice instruments to choose from. Some are made by the traditional American manufacturers, and some are made elsewhere. I just love to see companies continuing to innovate. Furch is doing that in their own subtle way, but a way that makes the instrument more stable. It’s cool and of course would mean nothing if they didn’t feel so nice in the hand.

      @@LucasHaneman I wish I had more time for my guitars. By the way, another European brand worth looking at is Lakewood. My impression is that they do guitars with rosewood style back and sides very well. I had the chance to play one with "Jacaranda". Unfortunately, they did not specify which of the 50 different dalbergia species that go under this trade name was used. Personally, I often find rosewood guitar a bit brittle or tinny but it seems that Lakewood avoids this in their guitars. So, just a tip if you come across one...

      @@thomasgaida7174 i’ll keep an eye out for those. I have heard of the Lakewood brand and have heard good things! It’s funny regarding Rosewood/mahogany and different players. I think our hands play a big part in how these guitars end up sounding for every individual player. Some people have bright hands, some people have darker hands, for instance. I think I have naturally dark hands, so I enjoy the sparkle of Rosewood. I certainly like mahogany as well, but Rosewood would be my top pick. It also might be because that’s what I grew up with on my dad‘s old Yamaki. The manufacturer does make a huge difference as does the specific tree. I have played Rosewood guitars that have less overtones and sound more balanced. Those are my favorite, whereas I have played some rosewood guitars that have too many overtones where things start to sound muddy. Mahogany can be the same way, a little too dry for my taste, or just beautiful with the right amount of overtone content.

      @@LucasHaneman I suppose I have "bright hands" because I play with my fingernails :)

    • @LucasHaneman
      @LucasHaneman  7 місяців тому

      @@thomasgaida7174 makes sense to me! I sometimes try to play with my nails, but they break easily as I just have weak nails in my jeans so I tend to play more with the flesh of my fingers. When I use a pic, it tends to be pretty thick. Thick pics also sound darker than thin pics so I suppose all of this leads every player to their preferences.
