Your mystery items are polishing tools. Note the finger holds (on the one you dropped). At 2:45 that's a grinder. AT 3:12 a large polisher. AT 6:09 these are abraders. Used to strip bark and knots off wooden arrow shafts. At 7:34, a hand held polisher and abrader. At 7:45, called a Dippler. Hand held to punch holes in freshly tilled soil before adding seeds. Many will have depth marks on the sides. At 8:40, a classic abrader grinder combo. That flat side is stained by the nuts they were grinding.
I would love to have your input on many things I've found recently in Missouri. I have never created video on UA-cam but might just have to try it. Ty for information and inspiration.
That polished heart-shaped stone could be a small plummet/fishing weight .. I've found a few exactly like that .. notice the notch at the peak .. try wrapping a line around it .. it's known that TRIANGLES were used as weights as they don't ROLL in the river current.
I believe that a lot of the odd shaped polished stones were used in working leather the indians used a lot of small hides also the few finger looking ones were surely for flaking stuff at least the ones I've found similar here in colo all have percussion Mark's on one end when people envision hide working they always picture big hides when a lot of smaller hides were used and the indians used the leg skins a lot for other containers and even though when you peel off a leg its inside out so you can scrape it it takes a variety of smaller smooth rocks to actually work the pockets in the legs into good leather!
I think some of those are an ancient Indian fondue set. Unquestionably that one is it Paleolithic Jelly Bean mold. And what's your calling and Boomer Rock is actually the waist cinch is actually the waist cinch for a multi-colored polyethylene baboon ass attachment
Hey Lancer, that is the wildest bunch of goofiest rocks I've ever seen. You do great standup !!! very funny !!! I must confess they are for the most part, as baffling as they are COOL LOOKING !!!
The second and third item you picked up, looked like small pestles for mixing/smashing, fruit or berries. The large flat stone with an edge on it, looks like a lap mortar to me, for grinding grains. The one you mentioned that looked like a cigarette burn, is a smoothing stone. The carved out area is there to place your finger across.
Could you please explain the numbers on the backs of your finds and how you're cataloging please? Thank you and I laugh at your sound effects .. I do that too .. lol ... I have a HUGE collection of "finds" from my own backyard I'll soon be releasing under "Archaeology by Storm!" - The Storm Phase of Archaeology. (Yes, I've certainly GONE through a 'phase' lol ..)
Hi Rosemary Storm, my cataloging system: the first part is the state where found followed by a number for the county and property where found and sometimes followed by another number in numerical order identifying the artifact and type of stone. For example: Tx-1-21a would be Texas - Oldham County (ranch I grew up on) - Alibates flint hafted scraper - a, b, c, etc. - multiple angle pics of the same artifact. Make sense? I appreciate the comments and thank you for watching. Rock on!
I think that some of the artifacts like the stone things that are ovoid or look like a spoon are used for shaping clay pots. like rounding the edge or burnishing the hardening clay. this explains the wavy shape this would have allowed to add some grooves in the pot so you could handle them easier. they were used probably for years if not generations. artists still use stones and other things like these to this day, some native american artists that make pots have the same tools that there grandmothers had. they are indeed rare and most people don't pick them up. you have a nice collection of them. thank you for posting. good luck hunting.
I have a ton of the heart shaped ones and one near EXACTLY the same size and shape as the large one you showed. Some are used as small axes - how do they fit in the hand and if an elongated side, it was likely hafted onto a stick/handle. Do you consider SPOKE SHAVES the same thing as a "SHAFT ABRAIDER"???
Are the heads part of statues? I have one that looks like the first one . Someone told me it was the head to a three piece statue.. heats are frequent shapes that I find in alabma
I HAVE FOUND MANY OF THE SAME MANY SMALL CARVED ROCKS ....MOST APPEAR TO BE SNAKES EATING THEIR TAILS WITH A FEW ANIMALS AND AN OCCASIONAL MASTODON...SOME CRUDE AND OTHERS SHOW A GREAT CRAFTSMANSHIP WITH VARIOUS MATERIALS...
The Red stone is a Mud Fossil , meaning it was once Alive...........Really look at the piece and you will see the marbling affect like a piece of meat. Watch Mud Fossil University to understand more on what and where Rocks really come from . Happy Hunting
Have rocks just like yours. I am sure the native peoples found them intriguing also. Those rocks are to hard for anyone to try and shape, believe me I tried. Those same type of rocks can be found on every continent. They are so similar is because they were created by the meat-eating dinosaurs. The dinos were hard-wired in their eating habits. Teeth marks and claw holes are visible on most all formed rocks and stones. With a mag-lens one can also see tissue structure, Nice 4 chambered hearts.
All the artifacts I’ve seen that you’ve displayed are artifacts and not natural formations the hearts are artifacts noticed the one low missing on most of them the triangles and I haven’t seen you with diamond shapes but the triangles are a representation of the sun and so are the diamonds

Good sense of humor man. I find weird rocks out here in Austin Tx. Not sure if tools or just mother nature shaped

Not artifacts over-exaggerated rocks
Hey Kelly parmer, thank you for watching, but you obviously have a very limited archeological education. Thanks for playing. Rock on!
You're so funny! Loving the rock collection! Tools or not, they are nice. You should see a doctor..., you should not run with scissors! 😜😉😂😂😂😂
Some are artifacts, some are natural :)
You've got to be a trip to live with!!! :) Very special person.

Do some research stop embarrassing your self
If u found in creek /river bed geofacts the spoke shave are shaft straighteners to knock down knots
Hi Grinch, these weren't found in creek or river beds. The majority were found in or near Indian camp sites on the ranch I grew up on.
I have a ton of the heart shaped ones and one near EXACTLY the same size and shape as the large one you showed. cool stuff!! I just started hunting arrowheads about a month ago and before that I collected heart shaped and unusual rocks...
Could that highly polished black triangle be Hematite
Are the heads part of statues? I have one that looks like the first one . Someone told me it was the head to a three piece statue.. heats are frequent shapes that I find in alabma
Thank you Lamoka and Pestleman. I'll have more vids of odd and unusual artifacts soon. Talk to you kids soon!

Steve Culbreth I know it's been 6 years but can you elaborate on this?
The with spoke shaves take off bark on arrow shafts.
All the artifacts I’ve seen that you’ve displayed are artifacts and not natural formations the hearts are artifacts noticed the one low missing on most of them the triangles and I haven’t seen you with diamond shapes but the triangles are a representation of the sun and so are the diamonds
Holes in stone were drilled by a long pointed arrowheads or a thin wood dowel spine in the hole with d
Sand to bore the hole.
The small one with sharp edges is a scraper.
Google ancient Native portable art and hidden I think I seen a few pieces in your collection
You have petrified bones. They're the light-weight ones.
The ones with the holes in them are jewelry.
