I remember travelling on her as a child. I have some nice photos on board of her, we tried hard to purchase her for the engines, but nobody would sell her.
Having watched Medway Queen being reconstructed in Bristol ,And considering how rare Paddle Steamers are it is a real shame to see this wreck,I suppose all the valuable brass has been liberated by the light fingered brigade,is there a preservation group?
Unfortunately I don’t think so. I’ve watched it get worse and worse since I was younger. I believe it was once used for a night club. Since it’s just been left there to fall apart. It’s such a shame to see it.
I seem to recall that there were once plans for her to be restored but it proved way too expensive and she's been left to decay, slowly. She was once a clubhouse for Island Harbour Marina but she's way beyond restoration now. Sad, as already said.
Rust in Peace, poor old girl 🥲🥲🥲
