Can I Replace 256GB SSD With 2TB SSD( I Mean There Have Any Limits Like You Can Use Only 1TB SSD ? ) Like Maximum Ram 32GB Mean's You Can't Install More Than 16GB Ram Per Slot.
Do we get the ssd cable with the laptop itselfwhich you have shown in your video after the start of 20 seconds
If you bought a Y530 or Y540 with no SATA drive installed, the cable will be inside the box with the computer. If you bought the laptop with a SATA drive, the cable will already be present inside the laptop.
Thank you🙏💕
@@BartechTV follow up question, if the cable didn't come in the box (bought the display model so it was missing) where can i buy a replacement cable?

Hello, i just purchased the new legion 5 amd spec. Here is my concern, it comes with single stick 8gb ram 3200mhz and i want to upgrade to 16gb but i couldn't find any sodimm ram that has the same 3200 speed. Any suggestion on how to solve this problem? Thankyou !
What should I do if I cant insert the blue ribbon cable all the way in
nice video. what does that connector call from the ssd to the motherboard? Thank you in advance
It's Lenovo's custom SATA flex cable. There should have been once included with the laptop, or you can buy one on Amazon - amzn.to/38BODpG
BarTech TV I don’t see the included cable, can you please let me know where it is?
Does this fix que lag or freezing problems in games?
Is this safety to not disconnect battery?
How big are the screws
what about the lenovo y540 17IRH can be added with a second SSD I want one with 2TB to have for more game storage
Yes, the Y540 17IRH has an NVMe slot and a SATA bay so you can have two SSD's.
Just bought this laptop from ebay but it didn't come with the cradle and ribbon. Anyone know where to buy this?
You can Google the FRU code to find a seller in your area.
HDD cradle - FRU 5B40R40179
Ribbon cable - FRU 5C10R40220
@@BartechTV thank you so much!!
Especially as this is such an old thread. +1 sub
the ribbon cable did not come included in the box. is there a ref number i can search to order it?
If it's not in the box it'll be already installed inside the computer
good day. sorry for my English. I have a y740. I need to change the m.2 ssd and hdd to an ssd. What is the maximum capacity it supports?
Any m.2 SSD will work in the m.2 slot, and any 2.5" 7mm drive will work in the SATA bay. Lenovo doesn't have a limit on capacity.
@@BartechTV sorry. I want to change the original 128gb m.2 to a 500gb wd. the 1tb hdd by a 1tb ssd. it happens to me that uefi does not recognize the disks that I cloned from the originals

Hi. I have lenovo legion y530. Early (mb 2 years ago) i instal 960evo in m.2 slot. Can i remove my standart hdd and instal ssd sata 2.5 with 1tb memory?
Yes, you can.
@@BartechTV great, thanks!
Great video
If I only upgraded the secondary nvme ssd, I can boot right into windows right?
Also which is better for secondary: 2.5” inch SATA ot nvme ?
Yes, if you have Windows already installed on the 2.5" SATA SSD and you upgrade the NVMe drive then you can boot straight back into Windows.
It's best to have Windows installed on the fastest drive - the NVMe drive - and use the 2.5" SATA drive for storage of games, photos, videos etc. That would give you the best performance.
4:16 So does that come with that ssd
It didn't come with mine
It comes with the laptop
The store where i bought my Y530 took out the bag containing the screws and sata cable.... Wtf do i do? I purchased my laptop about 6 months ago, can i still contact them to get the materials?
or maybe both are already inside connected to a fake disk
hello i bought a, Seagate Barracuda 2,5" 2 TB
but i don't make it work? have i bought wrong or have i been doing something wrong? i thought it did work because everything was like the other was?
i dont think that the legion can support more tha 1tb on the 2,5 slot and more than 500 gb on the m.2 slot

Question, Y530 supports 1TB NVME?
Funciona sim. Lenovo diz "até 512 GB" no especificação oficial mas um NVMe de 1TB or 2TB NVMe funciona sem problemas.
I wanna add an ssd as secundary storage in a legion 5. I have Windows 10, do i have to reinstall the windows all over in order to get it to work?? Or i just reboot after instaling??
If you're just adding a second drive you don't need to reinstall Windows.
Can you upgrade to a 2tb nvme?? Is there a storage limitation on a y-540?
Yes you can put a 2TB NVMe drive in your Y540.
@@BartechTV what about a y-530?
Yes. Even a 4TB. There is no max size.
@@BartechTV I’ve heard seomething like the max supported size is given in bios like uefi supports upto like 1.7tb max and that it also depends on the maximum addressable slots something. But thanks for the info.
A modern BIOS can support hundreds of Terabytes. These days with UEFI the maximum size is 9.4 zettabytes. That's 9,400,000,000 Terabytes.
hi! question, i think mine only came with 1x16 GB of ram. What laptop 1x16 ram (2666mhz) would work? any? or is there a specific
You will need a second 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz SO-DIMM. The brand doesn't matter.

Go to Computer Management and format the drive. Then a new drive letter pops up in Explorer.
i can buy any ssd brand and works?
Hey
what is the size wrench did you use to remove the screws from the hard drive 2.5?
PH00 - Crosshead screwdriver size 00 or 0
@@BartechTV Thanks the model in the video is a 530?
hi , can i use another sata connector for this installation , i lose the connector :(
I wanted to add working Samsung EVO840 2,5" SSD using ribbon cable as on this video NBX0001M410 (also tried NBX0001TC00), but my Lenovo Legion Y530 doesn't detect the SSD nor in BIOS neither in Windows. I checked BIOS system date/tome, I switched between UEFI and Legacy, battery was unplugged, but it didn't help. I tried with mechanical 500GB 2,5" SATA drive and it is not turning when connected.
Hello,
Do you know how to get the SATA cable to connect the hard drive to the motherboard?

No, if you're just adding a second drive in the empty drive bay nothing will change. Just boot into Windows after installing the new drive, format it and you're good to go.
