I am in western Romania, off grid. I have arch/ construction experience bot h in the US and Romania. Off grid cabins are a good way to go. Cabins that can be expanded as necessary

10 k for a property is a bargain. You are talking about a EU country.
Don't wait too much. Now is the time to buy. Once Romania will get the euro currency everything will escalate in price.
Transylvania is much more expensive already.
If people say 10 k is too much for 1000 m2 land (the house should not even have to have any value) are really not realistic. You buy not only a piece of Romanian country side, but also of EU and of the planet. Where can you buy land for 10 eur/m2? You people are absolutely naive to think otherwise 🤯

Off grid cabins. Like any refurb project. You may need temporary accommodation. Are you thinking something like a porta-cabin with solar storage solution?

We're going to start building a small cabin in the coming days, the idea is to sell them to people who want to move here, it's the cheapest way to get basic comfortable living conditions while you build some network and find somewhere you like to buy. The house in this video was just something that seemed an OK price for that location.

@@Retrogamer71 We're about to start working on a small off grid cabin, the idea is to have a simple and cheap low risk solution so you can be up and running very quickly and cheaply here and buy yourself time to look around and get to know the place before committing to buying land or a house. I want to help people like you relocate out here and build something of a community around this channel. If you want to help us and others the singular best thing you can do is share our videos with other like minded people and on forums, social media etc.
It's good to hear you're learning Romanian, that would be a significant advantage if you were to relocate here but it's not essential by any means. @@randomromania The school Latin and French is an automatically helpful basis to learn Limba Româna. I recommend the Duolingo app and learn Romanian with Ghia on UA-cam. Your economic equations are very motivating. I have Romanian speakers in my workplace and town of residence which is also motivating. But having said that as a beginner I am left wondering how complex the formal grammar gets when you have dative and genitive pronouns too. Challenging but rewarding.
