I'm glad you liked the video. I've always had a fascination with steam engines. You might want to watch another short walk around video on my channel titled: Santa Fe 3759 locomotive train in Kingman AZ. That's why they do a hydro. It won't explode. Water doesn't compress so it stores no energy. if it fails it just leaks. Still I would have thought they would have done the ultrasound survey first.
The work to restore a steam engine is amazing its a job of pride
good to see 2816 on her first run. what started as a rusty hulk has became the ambassador of CPKC in their excursion fleet.
Fantastic video of 2816 being restored 👍

2816 should be the official locomotive of Canada
she is
@geomodelrailroader really?
Look like Doyle McCormick was there assisting in the engine performance
Who would have new that they all played a part already for 2816 to go from Canada to Mexico and back up.
we used to test gas pipline 1100 lbs
Honestly, if i was also doing th hydro static test, i would be frightened praying nothing would explode
You got that right.
@@longhaireddj4 there has to be a song about 2816!

Very nice
hydrostaic test pretty safe
it would be cool to build a modern steam engine using modern materials. i guess there is no reason to though. what a shame.
That would be interesting to find out the estimated cost to do that. Thanks for your comment.
Are we talking about a small nuclear reactor? How about a "Mr. Fusion"
