- Welcome to our daily sheep farming vlog at Ewetopia Farms! Today, we are working with lambs and get to see all aspects of a day spent with lambs from feeding them bottles to watching them start to eat creep feed and hay. And then dealing with those "teenage" lambs always trying to challenge us by climbing in feeders or chasing after us as we roll out fresh bedding. Then there are the unexpected problems such as getting your tail stuck to your testicles or being wedged behind a gate. Whatever the case, the lambs are always the highlight of ant sheep farm, and undoubtedly, the lamb races are something one never tires of, and that's how we end today's episode.

Good afternoon Arnie and Lynn. Bottle babies to the right of you and to the left of you. 😂😂😂😂 Wow that little guy has a solid will not. He sealed everything. She was really proud standing up there. Those lambs are really getting big. Absolutely amazing. A little girl trying to hit Arnie in the behind. 😂😂 All this goofy weather is confusing the bees. Sandi has a TMR feeder and it has things that break down routinely. The sheep definitely ring the feed me button letting you know they need it to make milk. That lambie got himself in a fix. Arnie had a TMR mixer for the dairy cows and said that one thing you could always count on with the mixer, it always broke down on holiday weekends or Christmas!😆🥰🥰🥰🥰

Lovely with the slow mo lamb jumps and guitar combo. Wow, the lamb at 17:50 cleared the top box without a hitch! 😊 IMO, feeding fresh cut hay rather than chopped up tmr is so much more natural and nutritious. The sheep literally grab huge mouthfuls.😁

I’ve been designing my fantasy sheep farm in my mind and I’ve been thinking something between your setup and your neighbour’s with TMR because I can’t roll bales like Arnie. But $100k is a *lot.* $50k for a mixer + $50k per coverall.
You and your neighbour have about the same number of ewes, but she has one coverall for all the rams, ewes and nursing lambs and a fattening barn for the weaned lambs. Only half what you have-and at least in the coverall about half the surface area is dedicated to machinery.
I’ll have to think about this some more.

You would save yourselves such a lot of work with an automatic feeder. The lambs feed little and often to appetite. Mine did as well as the mum fed lambs and saved me time to get other things sorted. How many men of Arne’s age work out unrolling big bales, he is quite something.

It looks like a lot of hay, that's quite a cost, am I right or does it just look like a huge amount of hay.
100 ewes eat about 1 round bale/day whether it is lambing season or not 🙂
tie the bales in hemp roping, no need to un tie.
We can't get hemp twine anymore and we need to untie to roll out
Lynn to tell rescue! The Will-not buster... 🤏 💩 . We see another benefit of making play structures for the lambs: there seems to be far fewer ewes being tormented by lambs climbing on them.
And less lambs get crushed by ewes because the lambs aren't under foot! 😁
