I've recently gotten into camping and I saw Outdoor boy's youtube using it in his videos, I was researching like mad for "bag pump"/"bag air pump"/"air pouch pump" and was completely lost and practically gave up. It's really hard to get a hold of Outdoor boys, found out the only spot that wasn't disabled for comments were their FB page banner, and they responded about the name of this pump and ur brand and now I'm here. I tired to say thankyou but he then proceeded to disable comments there as well so i just scraped through, these are on my shopping list in the next couple of years for sure.
Got one of these for lightweight hiking. I don't even use the puff method to inflate. Just a bit of a shake. Keeps moisture out of my mat. Also doubles as a waterproof stuff sack for my clothes. Excellent product. Get one.
Agreed. No need to blow into these bags, just open them up and start rolling them closed. No point in adding any moisture from your breath at all when it is not necessary.
Hey Ben, thanks for your videos, so nice and easy to follow and understand, your great! Could I also inflate these mats by blowing air with my mouth through the valve? Or will these valves only work with either the self inflating or pump systems? Thanks
You can inflate sleeping mats with your mouth, Sebastian, many of the top end brands treat the linings of their products so as to avoid the build up of mould inside should it become moist hence enabling this. But, that being said, it is best practice to avoid any moisture from getting inside a sleeping mat and it is advisable to use a pump wherever possible. If you do need to inflate with your mouth make sure you leave the valves open and store the mat unrolled for a period after use to allow moisture to escape. ~ Ben
It's not the best idea to breathe straight into the mat, Alejandro, although I have heard a reputable brand mention otherwise recently with some of the modern mats. Blowing air into this pump sack isn't quite the same though, there would be much less moisture going into the mat compared to blowing directly into the valve. If you are concerned you can sort of flick the bag to capture air rather than blowing into it, it's just not quite as efficient. ~ Ben
Sorry about the delay getting back to you here, Daniel, I've been waiting for stock to come into our stores so I can check in person, but supply seems to be an issue at the moment. I still haven't bee able to check, but the valves are very different than the Sea To Summit valves and I highly doubt you'd be able to the Airsteam Pump Sack on the Klymit range. ~ Ben
One of the arguments for using such a pump sack is to avoid introducing the humidity of your breath into the mattress. However, this benefit will vanish if you start blowing into your pump sack as shown in the video (1:30)?
There is far less moisture in the air when inflating the bag as demondtrated than the condensation you would get from blowing directly into the valve of a camp mat. ~ Ben
It depends on the size of the mat, Kai, whatever the case there is a lot less breath required with this pump sack than compared to inflating the mat directly with your mouth. ~ Ben
As always Snowys informative and useful 👍🏽
Thanks, Michelle. ~ Ben

Ah, I reckon it may just be about privacy for their family?
Anyway, glad you got the info you needed.

I've got one myself, Paul, they are a great way to inflate any may without running our of breath. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors Have you ever tried to use this as a pillow. I'm wondering if it will hold air all night.

@stephenhands2108 ok yeah that makes sense, I thought that was the whole point of these
Hi Ben,
could you tell me if it also works for the Vaude Performance 7 pad?
Thanks :)
I'm not familiar with the Vaude pads sorry, it looks like the STS and Exped valves though, so I can only assume that it would work. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors Thanks

Thanks Ben brilliant information. What store do you work at? You are famous with your YT videos haha
@@sebastiantants6292 haha, I work near the Keswick store in Adelaide. ~ Ben
I believe is not recommendable breath because the wet can damage the sleeping pad.

@@SnowysOutdoors of course is not efficient capture only with the bag. The review is very good, thanks for this video! Cheers
Hi. Would this work with a Zempire's Monstamat? Cheers
It won't work with the Monstamat, Pabs, the valves are different sizes. ~ Ben
Will it work with klymit pads?

Too good to be true - needs MUCH more blowing, pumping.

These pump bags don't work.
I use one of these and haven't had any problems, N S, is there something we can do to help? ~ Ben
