Whoa! Did not know I was going to enjoy this trio so much. Great to see Bryan in-studio - I think his energy bounces off the others really well. More from these guys after the Summer Spectacular?
@@DicetowerBryan Bryan, thanks for hanging around so long, even if you're not part of the FL studio. Love your enthusiasm and crisp presentation style.
Also, I would think the colors are generally too close together in this game. The five art type colors included Greyish-Blue, Grey, and Light Grey, and there is an orangy-yellow and a yellow. It might not be as noticeable in person compared to on-screen, but it's a little odd. Besides that, it looks like a great game.
one of the best things about "classic" designs like these is that a lot of the tension is very subtle but also very visible. It reminds me of the feeling I would get when I was first discovering "these games of ours."
I think boardgame popularity came around and is now ready again for Knizia. For a while his games were a little too subtle for the average gamer. Now there is a much broader audience of gamers, who can enjoy the depth of his designs and at the same time appreciate the lower rules load.
I personally like that the cards were left clean but all the artist information and info on the pieces themselves comprise the larger half of the rulebook.
oh, ok... Reiner Knizia actually has TWO different games called Modern Art. One is an auction game and the other is more like this one. That's not confusing at all, Dr. Knizia.
It does not appear to be a fun or well-designed game at all, and it would be nice if the guys were a bit more critical in their review. It has nothing to do with Art. The cards might as will be red, green, black, blue and yellow. And why aren't the descriptions of the Art on the cards themselves? Why do you have to read them in the instruction booklet? Shouldn't the player be learning about the Art? And why are the pictures of the Art cropped? Show the whole thing! So it's a weird random prediction game, that has nothing to do with Art. Sad. Why?

Thanks. Love being in studio!

its about time you got bryan in the studio!
Great discussion, guys. Mike articulated what I was thinking - watching made we want to play Modern Art. Enjoy!
Happy to see long timer Bryan pop in for a studio review.
Man it was a fun week.
a card game and we missed an opportunity to have a professional magician do a trick?? Fun times! Chris, Mike and Bryan. : )
This is a great point lol!
@@DicetowerBryan Hey Bryan! 👋 🙂
@@DicetowerBryan It was nice to see you with Chris and Mike. DT does great work
At 08:35 shouldn't there be some points because three cards falls into 'four or fewer'?
You’re absolutely right. Thanks for the catch!
Thanks, I was wondering the same thing

More Bryan, Please!
I concur lol!

You basically described a lot of Knizia games.
LOL Bryan is HUGE compared to these other Toddlers!
They should have added a sort of shimmer effect to Mike to make it seem like he was a hologram, AI-DiLisio :D
Thanks, guys! Who is this Reiner Knizia you speak of? 😀😀. Hard to go wrong with Vermeer is your cover artist. I have to check this out.

Oh man do I like what this game is doing. I love a game that will not let you play it safe. GET ME OUT OF MY CONFORT ZONE! Getting this ASAP.
Most auspicious
I will grant you that Glenn's Gallery could use better art and design, but I don't know that we need more reprints of mid-tier Knizia games...
I was going to get it, but the cards not having the name and artist on them really turned me off.
I personally like that the cards were left clean but all the artist information and info on the pieces themselves comprise the larger half of the rulebook.
This sounds a bit like lost cities but multiplayer almost.
I think I've played Modern Art once... isn't that the game with like 6 different types of auctions? This game doesn't sound anything like that...
oh, ok... Reiner Knizia actually has TWO different games called Modern Art. One is an auction game and the other is more like this one. That's not confusing at all, Dr. Knizia.
Well the other one is actually called Modern Art: The Card Game, or also Master's Gallery
See mon? It's c'mon like come on right?
No one knows! It's a game industry mystery.
I feel like this would be more interesting to me if it were rethemed as some kind of race.
I adore what this game is, but the theme does not fit the tension. That said, it is immediately going into my collection.

Reiner translated to English means "reimplimented". 🥷
