Actually, I think that's the problem, it isn't really a change. He plays a pretty stiff actor who doesn't really give off a realistic portrayal. That's what plagued the Narnia series. They were just really superficial.
Davy Crockett is a Disney character and tall tale. David Crockett is an American hero and patriot. You chose to tell neither of those stories and do it poorly. 😂
I'm a little disappointed they didn't make Davey Crocket a non binary woman of color. History desperately needs to be updated for today's modern audience. 😂
Colm Meaney reminds me of Danny Trejo. Both great actors and are in what seems to be just about everything. Just like Danny plays a great good guy, Colm plays a great bad guy.
I mean that could be a feature rather than a bug. No need for "exotic locales" or CGI backdrop. It's an adventure that could happen right outside your window.
Ikr? I was actually excited when I clicked on this trailer thinking we were going to get the life story of Crockett and now I'm just disappointed that this crap exists.
How about these flintlocks that sound just like modern pump shotguns when they cock them? It's not bad editing...it's definitely a giveaway that in this adaptation, Davy time travels into the future (likely the 1950's) and brings back superior weapon technology to avenge his family like an 1800's John Wick crossed with Back to the Future... However, being a backwoods master of camouflage, he cleverly leaves it disguised as a Kentucky long rifle so as not to give anything away. In the end, the movie portrays Davy as an average person of average stature with average skillsets, who simply had access to intra-dimensional time travel and leveraged that into the stuff of legends. So basically the same plot of every other Davy Crockett movie that has ever been made.
Just remember it is a Davy Crocket FICTION story and don't give a darn about accuracy on any level and I think you'll have a chance at liking it as a modest western written by people who don't know what horses are or how guns work.
It'd be nice if the basic facts were right -- I can forgive cheese & some 'creative liberties' (ie. the ax-bullet-split shot), so long as most of what happens, matches up with the historical record...
if its called the Ballad of Davy crockett, why not make it about Davys tall tales like the movie big fish? That would be a hella interesting movie because Crockett said a lot of tall tales
This is cool must see they should make a movie like this about kit Carson the mexican american war. It started with davie crocket and he died for this country fighting to make the land usa and not mexico. The santa ana casino is named after santa ana the leader of mexico or general. From Texas all the way to California americans faught to make this USA. ended with kit cardin and freemont...
The real David Crockett, if he were still alive today, would probably be surprised how his legend, even to this day, still lives in American forklore. I wonder if, at times, men like Daniel Boone, David Crockett, Kit Carson, and Wild Bill Hickok ever had even the faintest idea of the impact they would have on American history and American culture?
Oh my, no Laurence Fishburne? No black moors helping the young Davy? No Wanda Sykes or Michael Pena for comedy relief? No global warming? At least the natives teach the settlers how to feed themselves, right?
Looks interesting. But I wish they'd spent time roughing- and dirtying-up the costumes. The newness of them completely pulls me out of the genre. It's blatantly noticeable: that's the problem. Perfectly fresh and ironed on those kids who live in a tiny back-woods cabin. Something so small can ruin a production that has spent time and money on cast, script, direction. If any small- or big-time filmmakers read this, please pay attention to that huge detail.
Good lord whoever thought the music was fitting for this should be fired. Such a great opportunity wasted to showcase epic folk tunes from this era that could bring out the ethos of the era. Instead left with garbage.
Meh. Instead of him embracing the "savage" and fighting against the evil yt man, I was hoping for more of an Indian fighter and Alamo type movie. Even Disney knew that way back in the day.
Looks like they wrote some BS about a historical figure, at least they didn't make him a vampire hunter. Won't be watching life is to short for that waste of time.
Davey Crocket was a historical badass, we’ll see how this goes. They really want a rescue movie they should look into Daniel Boone.
Now that would be interesting to see daniel boone as well
Simon Kenton was the real Daniel Boone . He was a historical fact. Kenton was the badass that badasses like Boone looked up to.
Kentuckians couldn't agree with you more.
Simon Kenton all day long. There’s your American hero.
This trailer makes the movie looks stupid and nothing but today’s world of entertainment. I
David Crockett was a pioneer, an advocate for Indian Rights, a Congressman and a Texas Patriot. I don't know if they're gonna do right on this one😬
A Tennessee volunteer*
@@lukel8642 And he died for Texas
They better do Davy proud, I know this won't do him justice.. what a Tennessee legend
Even if the movie kicks ass people will still hate on it haha
And a Texas Legend
The idea that fur trader from Tennessee wouldn’t immediately poop themselves upon hearing those little boys last name is hard to swallow.
Dear lord, can Hollywood please, please, please hire some good writers?
You think this was “Hollywood”? Definitely giving off low budget indie vibes here…
sorry, everyone busy dogging on grammar nazis... what was your concern again?
I am afraid you missed that era. Hollywood is bereft of talented writers.
@@user-wm1bx1ux9f Oh, I didn't miss it. I'm old enough to remember some great films.
Hollywood is full of pedos and wokeism. You aren't getting anything good out of there.
WOW… William Moseley from the Narnia films! What a change!
Actually, I think that's the problem, it isn't really a change. He plays a pretty stiff actor who doesn't really give off a realistic portrayal. That's what plagued the Narnia series. They were just really superficial.
Davy Crockett is from my neck of the woods!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
The wild frontier?

I hunt the land he hunted when he built his homestead in Lincoln Co.
@@royyeager6540 that's pretty neat.
That lead ball spilt scene!😂
Davey Crocket going full John Wick! They didn't kill his dog, but hey.
Yeah
so this is what High King Peter, the Magnificent go up to during the golden age of Narnia
I thought that was him
Glad to see him in something like this
David Crocket is an AMERICA LEGEND! we loved this movie, it's different perspective on David and his life. What a really great movie!!!!! thank you!!!
Davy crockett was a Badass Frontiers Man, I want to buy this movie soon and watch it.
my first book. I ever read on my own. Was a Davy Crockett book lol.
Well it didn't teach you anything about punctuation or sentence structure.
@@andrewvelonis5940 nope not at all. Cause i just don't care lol !?!?!?!?!?!? 88f8fhekfe about words on the internet lol
Giving off Abraham Lincoln vampire slayer vibes....I like
Have you even seen that movie.
@@stevestevenson3252 stupid ?
@@shawnguinup6971 Yes, you sure are.

Colm Meaney reminds me of Danny Trejo. Both great actors and are in what seems to be just about everything.
Just like Danny plays a great good guy, Colm plays a great bad guy.
And colm plays a great engineer lol
That music doesn't suit the trailer.
It’s pretty much cut-and-pasted hype music to get everyone watching go bananas over this .. 😒
The song isn’t bad but a modern country song for a movie that takes place 180 years ago doesn’t make any sense
It killed the movie
Crockett was a senator from Tenn and died at the Alamo from freedom. Why isn't that the storyline ?
Yup. This could have been John Wick Frontiersman, no need for it to be Crockett
When producers and writers just reading this now must’ve been like “oh crap, how’d we left that out” .. 🤭
Representative* he was only a house member
The Alamo: U.S. stealing land from Mexico, after the Mexicans stole the land from the native people. That's the truth.
Because that is what he is in every movie and tv show. They want to show you what you don't already know about him.
He prefers to be called David.
Wow!!!! Now I get to actually watch my long ago relative kick ass
Trailer dropped 4 months after it released, so it's probably on Tubi for free, under the title , "Savage Lands" by now
Go Will!
Looks like they could film this movie in someone's backyard in a day.
I mean that could be a feature rather than a bug. No need for "exotic locales" or CGI backdrop. It's an adventure that could happen right outside your window.
@@ThePa1riot I know. I’m just pointing it out.
That's how you know they made it for dirt cheap. "Feature" rather than a "bug"? How about they had no choice
I actually really liked the Billy Bob Thorton Davy Crocket, I hope this is good.
I liked Johns Better
WTF? Why does everything in Hollywood have to evolve into a John Wick style action movie.

The legend of Davy Crockett was adapted to a feature film from Walt Disney Productions 1955
No one messes with the King of the Wild Fronter!
Guys you can't just turn Davy Crockett into a 19th Century John Wick......
Ok, well, I guess you can
Whens it come out? Dvd? Theaters?
Is this the much anticipated sequel to “Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter”?
Parece una excelente película!!!, habrá que verla!!!
Will never beat the 1955 movie
Get it right, Davey is an American icon
Why do I have a feeling that David Crockett is a possible relative to John Wick?Becauyes that's a feeling i'm getting anyone else agree?
Interesting, but I'm going to like Fess Parker and the original Davy Crockett movie. Can't be replaced. But I like William Mosely from Narnia.
Ooo! I wanna watch this! Taken: 1815
Just remember it is a Davy Crocket FICTION story and don't give a darn about accuracy on any level and I think you'll have a chance at liking it as a modest western written by people who don't know what horses are or how guns work.
Wait, is that Peter Pevensie? High King of Narnia?
The real man did so much badass stuff, I feel like I don't remeber this part of the story....
Reminds me of cheap basic cable movies.
The movie was filmed in Tennessee
It'd be nice if the basic facts were right -- I can forgive cheese & some 'creative liberties' (ie. the ax-bullet-split shot), so long as most of what happens, matches up with the historical record...
Hopefully, "Wokeness" won't destroy this story.
is that Thomas Durant?
Colm sure is a Meaney
if its called the Ballad of Davy crockett, why not make it about Davys tall tales like the movie big fish? That would be a hella interesting movie because Crockett said a lot of tall tales
Or the film Tall Tale (back when Disney made good movies).

Looks pretty good if I’m being honest. They should have used his theme song though, even if the mouse owns it.
Watch The Alamo with Billy Bob Thorton.
Can't seem to see the Alamo anywhere. Is that part of his legend?

I'm reminded of a line that Jeff Goldblum said in Jurassic Park. I'll let y'all figure out what it is....
They better do the king of the wild frontier justice.
Showed us the entire movie
Davy Crockett with an English accent courtesy of English actor William Moseley.
Oh my, no Laurence Fishburne? No black moors helping the young Davy? No Wanda Sykes or Michael Pena for comedy relief? No global warming? At least the natives teach the settlers how to feed themselves, right?

The only thing in this film ' Davey Crockett ' is the name.
I clicked, hoping for a good historical movie… damn.
Looks ok.
Looks good...better than Kevin Costner's Horizon.
filmed at night by candlelight
OKAY the axe throw was cool, but to use that to split a musket ball, epic. John Wick could not pull off that shot.
Looks like another retread of tires worn down to the hubcaps.
I remeber reading in history books about him throwing and ax then splitting a bullet to kill two people.
Lol wow iam interested
Let's watch Hollywood rewrite history again shall we....

What?!! No raccoon skin cap?!
Why would they burn the pelt though that’s the main thing they wanted from the beaver
0.26 and then the torture starts
The song completely ruined this trailer
