CBS2's Natalie Duddridge goes inside a waterfront estate on Long Island that can better be described as a palace by the sea in this week's Living Large.
Holy cow. Blessed are those that call this masterpiece home. The master bedroom is 3 floors. Interesting. Not boring unless that's why you need 3 floors. 🤔🤨😉😁
Does it have a view of Hart Island? 50 years ago my friends and I would drop anchor near shore and swim. Then we would walk through Potter's Field. I often found human bones between my toes when I swam to shore a half century ago.
The novelty of material things and views wears off very quickly. I always had beautiful views since I was a kid. They get boring real fast and it does not make you happy. I've had ocean view, bay view, forest view. A nice breakfast of boiled eggs on butter toast becomes more inviting very fast. Nothing outside of us and no one can make us happy. The maintenance on this place is insane. This era is over. People want to live and not sit in a pretty mausoleum.
Well said. I grew up in Eastport/WestHampton area with my mom 3/4 of the time..middle class or townies..the rest I was with my dad in Queens. At our Eastport house we were surrounded by farms and nature, k-12 in one school..very peaceful but once spring came the very wealthy came out in droves. I’d have people offer me the strangest dehumanizing jobs, I waitressed so many summer customers would ask me to work privately, I have always been open minded-a positive kind person, I was always aware however of their world being completely foreign to ours. I am thankful that that world of materialism that existed right beside such simple ways deepened my love and connection to the small things that are the greatest things!
I'm sorry to say. I had them all. Actually the least boring is a forest view. But the best view is that of our ideal fantasy sexual partner who does not exist and we get to throw them out of an imaginary door after we fantasize about them.@@Graphics_Card
Beautiful, they finally got the interior right, it actually looks elegant inside instead of looking like a McMansion.

Right? So sick of all that "contemporary" sameness. Love the ceilings.

OMG, Natalie Duddridge is wearing THE HELL out of that dress. She got more cakes than a New York bakery.
Nice art in this mansion 👨🏾🎨🖼
this is really a palace in every way

That’s crazy because I thought the dock looked familiar.
I was thinking Billions, when he talked of having a deep water dock.
This is a long island. I don't know. Beautiful !
