@@Bella-po8vh Sasha clean with and 3A in the short will be around 4-6 points behind Kamila. When Sasha is doing her planed content clean in the free with two 4Lz in combination in the secound half she can win against a clean Kami. Just the two combos in the secound half is Kami +/- 28-30 points Sasha +/-41- 43 also when Kami have 8-10 more PCS what will not happen when Sasha is clean it´s not enough. Because of 4F and the two 4Lz combination in the secound half Sasha have a clear higher tecnical score from around 12 to 15 points. So both 100% clean will be close but Sasha will be around 3-6 points ahead of Kami. Kami with 78 Pcs and Sasha with 70 Pcs in the free. I think when Sasha will land 5 quads clean they will give her Gold. When Sasha goes 4F; 4S; 2A+3T; 4S; 4Lz+3T; 4Lz+1eu+3S; 3Lz she can reach 190 to 196 points with this content.
My favorite moment of this year’s Europeans was Ekaterina Kurakova’s FS. She was selling that performance like she was born to do it. I just love her energy, it feels like she’s so passionate about the sport and I find her spontaneous reactions to her performances and scores very refreshing ♥️
I first noticed Katya at Nebelhorn this year. She has been one of my top 5 or top 3 favorite skaters of the year ever since. Her expression of the music and her personality alone wants to make me root for her.

after kamila’s fall, i swear she looked so happy. Almost like she was laughing at herself but not in a bad way, more of a “omg can’t believe i did that lol😂 “ kinda way. Definitely not her best skate, But i think it looked like she was enjoying herself the most in this skate and I love it 😍

Deniss and Kevin were the only male skaters I could actually watch and enjoy from this competition, congrats to Mark but his jumps are way too wild and he can't hold a landing position well. IMO these two should have had the highest PCS and as expected, they did so at least there is that.

I have a feeling that Anna needs a stimulus to perform well. So like mess up in short do amazingly in free. Also for trusova- she landed 18 ULTRA C elements in training. I think her body is in perfect condition but she tires herself before her main performance. I think she focuses too much on landing quads and is very crazy about that- which is fine but even if she does a few well along with some other triple triples she stands a chance of winning. If u see Anna’s technical content vs Alexandra’s- albeit Alexandra has wayyyy tougher jumps the base value is very similar. Alexandra got a plus 5 goe for her quad flip Anna got 3. She has better technique than Anna too so if they reduce the quads and focus on her presentation it’s more than enough to win. Coz her skates seem more like training sessions right now- just keep jumping. She has got a cool song and a cool program and looks really cool too so she should emote more.
I agree. Less is more. 2 great quads plus more transitions in the programme will really help. She's just skating end to end in that programme, and there's so much choreo missing too.

Sasha's dream as she mentioned during her interview is to land 5 quads in her free program. And she did it once during russian test-demonstration skates. Valieva is full of energy and Anna is the most experienced fighter. So it is still anyone's game
I think Sasha is other way athlete, she just want to break her limit , I always wanted her to get a gold medal, but now I just want she do whatever she want, she make me know skating not only can be elegant、 beautiful, but also can be powerful、badass, many people think she just a jumper, but she give me a spirit, don't know how to say that feeling, but I think many fans are attract by that. Watching this competition as a Czech I was just pleasantly surprised that we have a dance team that is actually quite good! Also Březina messed up one of his program as always, but his free program was finally clean, and I loved it and the fact that even without quad it was fifth best free. I also actually learned how to tell the jumps apart this competition (after 4 years of watching figure skating - I know I'm the worst🤣) , so I count is as a win!
I think Stepanova and Bukin deserved to win tbh. I love them! Normally the other Russians are way out in the lead, but the gap is much smaller now! Delighted my friend finished 5th in the dance, but they made a little mistake on the twizzles and got hammered for it 😔. Delighted for the Spanish champions that they're going to Oly's though, as I love them (another Brit through to Oly's, yay!) Davis and Smolkin were highly overscored (no surprise there!) but even so, they looked horrified at their marks 😆 Anna Sherbakova was highly overmarked too, especially in the short. Still overmarked in the long, but I'm happy for her that she skated well. She needed that. I was over the moon for Loena. Her SP was GORGEOUS, and my fave of the night tbh! 😍 She's a stunning skater when she's on form. Sad for her long, but she'll come back strong, I'm sure. I hope Trusova comes back strong, and she's feeling good for Oly's.
The Yuna vs. Sotnikova controversy happened because Sotnikova’s scores didn’t match what was skated, and she increased like 12 points from the beginning of the season which is unheard of. Yuna was a technical and PCS beast even with her decreased flexibility in 2014. 2018 was seen as the battle between Alina and Medvedeva. It wasn’t a surprise that Alina won since she was constantly being touted as having the “highest base score.” 2018 was definitely less controversial than 2014.

If the Russian ladies land their jumps and make it to the podium by inflated scores, it would honestly be just another confirmation of ISU’s corruption and bias towards Eteri skaters.
Hi, Paola! I'm so glad that I found your channel, your videos are very funny and insightful for a figure skating fan. However, I'm surprised that you paid so little attention to men event. I'm from Europe and honestly I haven't seen such a fight in this category for many, many years. Congratulations to Mark, of course, he deserved the title, but I don't think he had a real moment at this competition. He was a bit shaky on his free program, probably a bit nervous, but anyway - I think he should work to improve his interpretation and artistry. Not a big fan of his programs this year. He is very talented, but there is a room to improve. And this is why I was far more impressed by Daniel Grassl and Deniss Vasiļjevs. Grassl's short program is a masterpiece for me, really really moving. He had some minor issues in his free, but overall - great performance, great skating skills, nice interpretation. The man of the evening for me, without any hesitations, was Deniss Vasiļjevs. Not only he landed a quad for a first time in a competition, his whole performance was, to me, out of this world. Every single jump, step, spin - so secure, so clean, so enjoyable, with so much quality. This free reminded me of Evgenia's free on Olympics 2018 - really felt that Deniss put all his soul into it. And actually into both of his programs on this competition. I loved it. And let's not forget Lambiel's reaction after Deniss's free - that was the moment of the competition! :) I mean, figure skating is so much more than a Quad or 3A (for ladies). I just can't stand this ISU code that favors rotations, bad landings, falls,etc...to real quality.

I feel like for the women section, in the Olympics, something insane is going to happen between the Russian girls. Any of them could be Olympic champion. Anna can overtake Kamila, because she did it before and if Sasha really puts herself 100% in the program that she has, she could easily become #1. Anything is possible. It will be wild!
Let's be honest, Valieva is a one woman team. She doesn't need to rely on any other team member to achieve her goal in becoming the 2022 Olympic champion and honestly, i really don't understand all of the hype over Anna Scherbakova's free dance. She landed only one quad and is not executing any memorable programs, since struggling, all season long from her injuries. The judges obviously lover her and will score her unfairly. Due to her status as World and Russian Champion. As for Trusova, i feel so bad for her because she needed to win this competition more than Valieva and Scherbakova. She does not have a major championship medal as a senior yet and its due to her recurring mistakes. In failing to skate clean and consistent programs.
I remember back when M/G won the junior worlds bronze in their international debut I said they had huge potential, more than B/K or P/K. Then throughout 18-19 and 19-20 it was all about B/K but M/G although being a year behind outperformed B/K's debut year. Great to see that finally realized in 2021, love them. Still want S/H to win the olympics but I'm so glad M/G are the top Russian team

I’m so proud of Anna. I’m suddenly seeing her story and her free programme up there with my favourite out of all the eteri girls.. along with trusova. I think the only way Trusova can secure silver is to focus on three quads at the Olympics rather than five. If she skates clean her free is by far the most memorable, the soundtrack and cruella story is the most exciting to watch aslong as she doesn’t fall. I hope she gets her moment at the olympics and makes history regardless of medalling.
Lisa failed the trixel in the short program and did not make a single combination of 3-3 in both programs - what should she go to the Olympics with, and how to get into the team if all the Tutbergirls have quads and all combinations are exclusively 3-3 and the best spins? Plushenko, before the European Championship, spoke about the need for additional competitions between Anna and Lisa for the third spot in the team, but now it is obvious that it would be logical to organize additional competitions between Lisa and Maya for the place of the first substitute in the team. although I understand you perfectly: Lisa's participation in the Olympics is the only chance for other countries to avoid a completely Russian podium :-)

Especially since she has been around for so long and has never competed at the Olympics before. What I do wonder is how long it will take the new Tutberidze girls to overtake Anna, Kamila and Sasha. Most Tutberidze skaters only stick around for a few years because they are replaced by younger skaters who can pull of more difficult jumps or they retire because they can’t compete anymore.

Actually I have no complaints about the judging. Seems fair. I realized that this time we would get real deserved scores (unlike Rnats scandal) after Diana&Gleb's first realistic score after SP, and then FP and overall. I was like, Finally!
What annoys me is that Aliona when she was in good shape skated better than Anna and didn’t get this overscoring. I think that they are trying to reward Anna for staying with Eteri. Also I feel sorry for Liza no matter how hard she works it doesn’t make any difference
I think that too!!! Aliona and Sasha are kind of being punished because they left Eteri meanwhile Anna was the only one that stayed so they will overscore her as much as they can, I think even Liza is happy, she is like Tonya may never win an Olympic medal but will go down in FS as The Empress, one of the best skaters Russia has ever had.

You are actually wrong about Loena having different technique than Eteri girls. Loena's lutz/flip jumps having the same type of take off as Eteri girls are using - heavily prerotated and blade-assisted. Also, you are wrong about Loena being able to challenge Russians with clean skate. She can't. It's obvious if you look at her elements values. She is jumping only 6 triples and the gap between her score and Russians was more than 25 points in the end. Even with clean skate she needs quads and triple-triple combinations in second half to overcome that. One can complain about Eteri girls being overscored all the time they want - but in reality Russians are doing a LOT to get that scores - inflated or not. Which others just can't do.

I’m so fucking tired of the overscoring in the ladies’ field. Anna should’ve been at least 5th with her errors. Sasha should NOT be getting these PCS. Kamila is by far the greatest of the current field… but not THAT far, the gap between her and the others is ridiculous and that WR should not have been 5 points higher than the previous one. She’s so good just on her own, why are they overscoring the shit out of her? Russia is cheating… but what’s new? Exhausting
it's honestly one of the reasons why I have come to dislike watching women's. Loena was a breath of fresh air as well as some of the other girls. The overscoring just made it seem like no one could possibly catch up. Loena was still so far behind trusova which really made no sense to me because her interpretation and artistry was so much nicer to watch imo. Hate it here.
@@violabunnie I love Loena. It's a pleasure watching some real women's skating. Her programmes are stunning. Even with mistakes her PCS should be higher. Her jumps are bigger too. Euros really missed the Empress for me. I prefer watching mature women skate, rather than the kids. Don't get me wrong, they're lovely skaters, but it's not exciting for me.
@@lindatannock I agree! The younger girls are for sure talented, but the artistry really comes with maturity and experience! Same goes for the men’s, I much prefer an artistic program with clean, high GOE triples than them fighting to land quads that break the flow of the performance. Quads are an amazing feat, but without any artistry I’m like 🤷🏻♀️
Yes, they are overscored in PCS and Anna should have been 6th or 7th after the SP, but the standings after the FP are just fine. Anything else than Podium for either Anna or Sasha would be even worse judging. As a viewer i definetely enjoyed Ekaterina's performance more but you can't ignore the fact that the program was much easier and the difference in TES is just too big to overcome. Loena might have challenged the podium with a clean skate, but she wasn't able to do so. The rest is too far away in difficulty.
It's obvious that Kats sat out RusNats because he or his coach made a deal with Eteri in order to get NepoDaughter into second place so she could go to the Olympics. Hence, why you see a suspiciously FINE Kats at Euros.
100%, if diana wasn’t in the picture, he would never just withdraw because his back started hurting. He was fine one day and the next was too hurt to skate at the National competition deciding who goes to the Olympics? Sure😭
Honestly, it's not Anna's mental tenacity that gets her through anymore....it's the outrageous overscoring of her programs. She and Kamila are probably the most overscored of the group of girls.
Kamila is barely overscored compared to Anna. The quality of Kamila's everything is much higher than Anna or Sasha. And yes Anna is overscored (ridiculously so at many events) but only once has Anna's overscoring ever caused Sasha to lose to her, it has always been Sasha messing up. The one exception was 2019 Rusnats where Anna beat Sasha by 0.07 despite doing 4 lutzes with no edge calls. every other time Anna's beat Sasha the margin was massive. Sasha on the other hand was overscored into the bronze medal at last worlds which really should have gone to Sakamoto. Sasha's free program was one of the worst we've seen in the last 10 years from the Russians at worlds, like 2017 Pogorilaya or 2018 Zagitova bad. But somehow it got 66 PCS. Not to mention her outrageous short program PCS for a boring program with no combo also somehow getting higher than Sakamoto...
@@lexiusugrymius9392 I love war and peace. Fair score for Anna with no quad landed is 220-225 like she got at Budapest trophy. As in this case Anna is landing 7 triples and 2 double axels, same as Sakamoto or Loena Hendrickx who can also score in the low 220 range with the “standard layout.” 233 for Anna at worlds with no quad or 239 at Russian nationals was overscored (although everyone at nationals was overscored to be fair). Or at Europeans for example Anna got 168 for a free skate with only one quad which is just absolutely ridiculous. The quality of her elements outside the quad and of her general skating level is not better than Sakamoto or Hendrickx at all, but even if she got 0 points for the quad she still would have scored 153 free skate somehow... For Kamila, her scores are way more accurate because her skating level and speed is actually very high and all her elements are good quality. Only her -3T can be overscored sometimes, and the composition of her programs which is not nearly as good as say Anna’s new short or Aliona’s leftovers. But 270 score for Kamila is pretty fair
i do worry about anna. how many times can she bounce back like that? like one day it wont happen. also her quad really was a triple. it was very PR and very UR. it shouldve been downgraded, along side with a lot of her other jumps were UR but the judges ignore it and give her high as fuck GOE. :/
also about the olympics. i have a gut feeling everyone is gonna fight like 2014 about who deserved gold, silver, and bronze between the russians. like what if sasha actually lands a 3A and then 5 quads.. like. there will 100% massive drama. last olympics there was massive drama in the fandom about evgenia vs alina. i know the fandom is gonna be brutal when we see the order of 1,2&3.... and im 100% gonna log off on twitter when the fandom starts the wars..

I'll be honest, even though Anna is my favorite, she looks so fragile and physically weak as if she's going to break at every jump, saw this on 3Lutz&3Loop combo (compare it to Alina's same combo, it is way weaker), and on Quad FLz that really looked like a triple. Her strength is in her theatrical abilities and her emotional performance. For Sasha, it's just the opposite. She is very strong in jumps but very weak at theatrical abilities and has no emotional performance. Kamila has it all.

Can’t believe how ay worlds last year she got an 81 for the sp with NO 3A, travelling spins and bad skating skills but aliona got 85 for the most perfect sp WITH a 3A and skating skills that Anna has never had
@@anastasia9854 Evgenia backloaded her short program to get more bonus points in the second half, so of course the score is high. The rules got changed after that olympics to where you aren't allowed to backload anymore.
@@anastasia9854 everyone knows evgenia was overscored and in an Olympic year/season everyone breaks world records. That’s when you’re overscored the most. I never said it was fine for evgenia to get that. Also evgenia backloaded so her jumps were worth 10% more which Anna couldn’t do at the worlds so she really has 0 excuse for that score.
I really respect Anya and her insane mental game, but her score has left me completely frustrated tbh. Not to say that Sasha and Kami aren't scored very generously (esp those pcs for Sasha), but Anya, being left w/o a combo in the short and with one so-so quad in the free taking the silver? That was ridiculous. Sasha skated really messy, but she still should've gotten the silver overall imo.
i heard that she was already on her way out before kostornia was injured. Because apparently they have to do this test where they skate in front of members of the federation to be judged and they were pointing out her obvious horrible pre rotation but when kostornia got injured she was the only person who could be chosen cause lets be real they were never going to pick maya and daria was out. she really is just a shoe in to make sure eteri gets all 3 spots but eteri would replace her with someone else if there was any other option. she will be gone by next season. her will power wont be enough anymore to hide that technique

Trusova's injury has nothing to do with her falls, Trusova cannot cope with pressure she always chokes, when there is no expectation on her she performs much better - if you review her history you will be able to tell. Second her skating skills are terrible don't get me started on her crossovers. You are right about Anna's will however I think this will be her last season. Re the mens Denniss the bronze medalist has the best skating skills and jumps/spins of anyone at the event and you didn't even notice. Pairs cannot agree with you re Boikova and partner their technical skills are a mess and his jumps look like a wild cat inside a sack. No way did Minchin and co deserve that score they should have been third

Absolutely agree they are the best Russian pair and far superior to b/k and m/g in terms of actual skating and elements. They really have it all except for consistency. M/G are amazing skaters don’t get me wrong, but they are getting these scores because of their consistency. If T/M were consistent, imagine the scores they could get.

I personally am concerned about their bone density if you look up osteopenia it causes bones to fracture and break , teenagers get it from having eating disorders , it can cause broken hips , arms , legs , hands , feet ..

That’s “little engine that could and could and could”…sure because she’s terribly over-scored. I’m completely fine with the podium if they deserve it but this is another situazione where 2/3 of the podium should be out.
Thanks for the video, and let me express my probably unpopular opinion on the ladies. I am russian and I watched the whole competition live, and after the ladies' free something was odd to me, I felt a bit uneasy. I have a theory that teamtutberidze carried out a scheme at the tournament. Prof. Mishin and Tuktamisheva's fans are rooting for Liza to go to the Olympics, and the information that "Liza's place in the team is secured" is all around russian mass media. After rusnats Kami's and Sasha's places were secured, and the third place is usually chosen judging by multiple factors (the scheme that allowed Diana Davis to go to the OG). My thoughts are that Eteri told her girls to skate their free rather relaxed and let Anya get silver, so that she proves her worth. My arguments: 1) I always try to listen to the conversations Eteri has with her girls at the kiss&cry zone, she is usually getting down to their mistakes, asking what went wrong, or even reprimanding. But now they were just laughing and chilling, even though Kami's and Sasha's mistakes could be red flags before OG, and with Anya Eteri returned to her usual attitude. 2) I understood that my uneasiness was because, unlike Kami's and Sasha's "usual" skates, these were different. Kamilla has been like a strained string during this season (maybe because of her nerves, she is typically clamped when performing her FS and she doesn't accept her mistakes with good humour). And Sasha doesn't laugh when her "easy" jumps aren't getting right for two competitions in a row (I am really worried that she can't land her 4T and uses all bad techniques to land flutzes). 3) Eteri is well-known for abusing the rules, and she knows that neither Kami nor Sasha would be against elevating their dear friend at almost no cost at all (and rusnats ice dance is still keeping my brows risen) 4) That is one of the best ways to show that the Empress is not eligible for OG: on one hand, Eteri has the stability machine, on the other, even if her girls are not stable, they don't lose that much. It is really interesting ! Also I think that she wants Anna to go even if she doesn’t deserve it because Anna never left her. She wants to reward that, if trusova goes Anna ‘loyalty’ won’t be rewarded
Nah eteri may be a lot of things but she gave her skaters fair chance, the proof of this is 2018 Olympic. Eteri loved Zhenya like a daughter before she leave for Brian but she still equipped Alina with the highest base value program. After their number announced, look at her expression. She really did want Zhenya to win. True, she might want Anna in 2nd place and probably lobbied the judges for that hence her scores, but no way she would tell her skaters to give room for Anna.

@@Bella-po8vh Sasha clean with and 3A in the short will be around 4-6 points behind Kamila. When Sasha is doing her planed content clean in the free with two 4Lz in combination in the secound half she can win against a clean Kami. Just the two combos in the secound half is Kami +/- 28-30 points Sasha +/-41- 43 also when Kami have 8-10 more PCS what will not happen when Sasha is clean it´s not enough. Because of 4F and the two 4Lz combination in the secound half Sasha have a clear higher tecnical score from around 12 to 15 points. So both 100% clean will be close but Sasha will be around 3-6 points ahead of Kami. Kami with 78 Pcs and Sasha with 70 Pcs in the free. I think when Sasha will land 5 quads clean they will give her Gold.
When Sasha goes 4F; 4S; 2A+3T; 4S; 4Lz+3T; 4Lz+1eu+3S; 3Lz she can reach 190 to 196 points with this content.
My favorite moment of this year’s Europeans was Ekaterina Kurakova’s FS. She was selling that performance like she was born to do it. I just love her energy, it feels like she’s so passionate about the sport and I find her spontaneous reactions to her performances and scores very refreshing ♥️

I first noticed Katya at Nebelhorn this year. She has been one of my top 5 or top 3 favorite skaters of the year ever since. Her expression of the music and her personality alone wants to make me root for her.

Deniss and Kevin were the only male skaters I could actually watch and enjoy from this competition, congrats to Mark but his jumps are way too wild and he can't hold a landing position well. IMO these two should have had the highest PCS and as expected, they did so at least there is that.

I have a feeling that Anna needs a stimulus to perform well. So like mess up in short do amazingly in free. Also for trusova- she landed 18 ULTRA C elements in training. I think her body is in perfect condition but she tires herself before her main performance. I think she focuses too much on landing quads and is very crazy about that- which is fine but even if she does a few well along with some other triple triples she stands a chance of winning.
If u see Anna’s technical content vs Alexandra’s- albeit Alexandra has wayyyy tougher jumps the base value is very similar. Alexandra got a plus 5 goe for her quad flip Anna got 3. She has better technique than Anna too so if they reduce the quads and focus on her presentation it’s more than enough to win. Coz her skates seem more like training sessions right now- just keep jumping. She has got a cool song and a cool program and looks really cool too so she should emote more.
I agree. Less is more. 2 great quads plus more transitions in the programme will really help. She's just skating end to end in that programme, and there's so much choreo missing too.

in chinese “Liu” is pronounced kind of more like the name Leo very quickly in english. the U sound is made with your mouth more relaxed and less like a cow going moo. and again zhou is more like Joe. it’s really hard for non asian speakers to get the chinese last names right because they aren’t taught the sounds and how to read pinyin but i appreciate you trying!
Watching this competition as a Czech I was just pleasantly surprised that we have a dance team that is actually quite good! Also Březina messed up one of his program as always, but his free program was finally clean, and I loved it and the fact that even without quad it was fifth best free. I also actually learned how to tell the jumps apart this competition (after 4 years of watching figure skating - I know I'm the worst🤣) , so I count is as a win!
I've been learning to tell apart the jumps this year, after 30 years of watching figure skating (though I did take some years off...).
I think Stepanova and Bukin deserved to win tbh. I love them! Normally the other Russians are way out in the lead, but the gap is much smaller now!
Delighted my friend finished 5th in the dance, but they made a little mistake on the twizzles and got hammered for it 😔. Delighted for the Spanish champions that they're going to Oly's though, as I love them (another Brit through to Oly's, yay!)

Anna Sherbakova was highly overmarked too, especially in the short. Still overmarked in the long, but I'm happy for her that she skated well. She needed that.
I was over the moon for Loena. Her SP was GORGEOUS, and my fave of the night tbh! 😍 She's a stunning skater when she's on form. Sad for her long, but she'll come back strong, I'm sure.
I hope Trusova comes back strong, and she's feeling good for Oly's.

The Yuna vs. Sotnikova controversy happened because Sotnikova’s scores didn’t match what was skated, and she increased like 12 points from the beginning of the season which is unheard of. Yuna was a technical and PCS beast even with her decreased flexibility in 2014. 2018 was seen as the battle between Alina and Medvedeva. It wasn’t a surprise that Alina won since she was constantly being touted as having the “highest base score.” 2018 was definitely less controversial than 2014.

If the Russian ladies land their jumps and make it to the podium by inflated scores, it would honestly be just another confirmation of ISU’s corruption and bias towards Eteri skaters.

Hi, Paola! I'm so glad that I found your channel, your videos are very funny and insightful for a figure skating fan.
However, I'm surprised that you paid so little attention to men event. I'm from Europe and honestly I haven't seen such a fight in this category for many, many years. Congratulations to Mark, of course, he deserved the title, but I don't think he had a real moment at this competition. He was a bit shaky on his free program, probably a bit nervous, but anyway - I think he should work to improve his interpretation and artistry. Not a big fan of his programs this year. He is very talented, but there is a room to improve.
And this is why I was far more impressed by Daniel Grassl and Deniss Vasiļjevs. Grassl's short program is a masterpiece for me, really really moving. He had some minor issues in his free, but overall - great performance, great skating skills, nice interpretation.
The man of the evening for me, without any hesitations, was Deniss Vasiļjevs. Not only he landed a quad for a first time in a competition, his whole performance was, to me, out of this world. Every single jump, step, spin - so secure, so clean, so enjoyable, with so much quality. This free reminded me of Evgenia's free on Olympics 2018 - really felt that Deniss put all his soul into it. And actually into both of his programs on this competition. I loved it. And let's not forget Lambiel's reaction after Deniss's free - that was the moment of the competition! :)
I mean, figure skating is so much more than a Quad or 3A (for ladies). I just can't stand this ISU code that favors rotations, bad landings, falls,etc...to real quality.

I feel like for the women section, in the Olympics, something insane is going to happen between the Russian girls. Any of them could be Olympic champion. Anna can overtake Kamila, because she did it before and if Sasha really puts herself 100% in the program that she has, she could easily become #1. Anything is possible. It will be wild!

Let's be honest, Valieva is a one woman team. She doesn't need to rely on any other team member to achieve her goal in becoming the 2022 Olympic champion and honestly, i really don't understand all of the hype over Anna Scherbakova's free dance. She landed only one quad and is not executing any memorable programs, since struggling, all season long from her injuries. The judges obviously lover her and will score her unfairly. Due to her status as World and Russian Champion. As for Trusova, i feel so bad for her because she needed to win this competition more than Valieva and Scherbakova. She does not have a major championship medal as a senior yet and its due to her recurring mistakes. In failing to skate clean and consistent programs.

I remember back when M/G won the junior worlds bronze in their international debut I said they had huge potential, more than B/K or P/K. Then throughout 18-19 and 19-20 it was all about B/K but M/G although being a year behind outperformed B/K's debut year. Great to see that finally realized in 2021, love them. Still want S/H to win the olympics but I'm so glad M/G are the top Russian team

I’m so proud of Anna. I’m suddenly seeing her story and her free programme up there with my favourite out of all the eteri girls.. along with trusova. I think the only way Trusova can secure silver is to focus on three quads at the Olympics rather than five. If she skates clean her free is by far the most memorable, the soundtrack and cruella story is the most exciting to watch aslong as she doesn’t fall. I hope she gets her moment at the olympics and makes history regardless of medalling.

Lisa failed the trixel in the short program and did not make a single combination of 3-3 in both programs - what should she go to the Olympics with, and how to get into the team if all the Tutbergirls have quads and all combinations are exclusively 3-3 and the best spins?
Plushenko, before the European Championship, spoke about the need for additional competitions between Anna and Lisa for the third spot in the team, but now it is obvious that it would be logical to organize additional competitions between Lisa and Maya for the place of the first substitute in the team.
although I understand you perfectly: Lisa's participation in the Olympics is the only chance for other countries to avoid a completely Russian podium :-)

Especially since she has been around for so long and has never competed at the Olympics before. What I do wonder is how long it will take the new Tutberidze girls to overtake Anna, Kamila and Sasha. Most Tutberidze skaters only stick around for a few years because they are replaced by younger skaters who can pull of more difficult jumps or they retire because they can’t compete anymore.
@@СергейВолков-м3з Yeah I know she didn't get all her combinations right and she doesn't have quads but I feel like the progress of the Tutberidze girls is so unhealthy compared to Liza's, she's much older but can still skate, yet many of her other girls retired at such a young age. Actually I have no complaints about the judging. Seems fair. I realized that this time we would get real deserved scores (unlike Rnats scandal) after Diana&Gleb's first realistic score after SP, and then FP and overall. I was like, Finally!

You are actually wrong about Loena having different technique than Eteri girls. Loena's lutz/flip jumps having the same type of take off as Eteri girls are using - heavily prerotated and blade-assisted. Also, you are wrong about Loena being able to challenge Russians with clean skate. She can't. It's obvious if you look at her elements values. She is jumping only 6 triples and the gap between her score and Russians was more than 25 points in the end. Even with clean skate she needs quads and triple-triple combinations in second half to overcome that. One can complain about Eteri girls being overscored all the time they want - but in reality Russians are doing a LOT to get that scores - inflated or not. Which others just can't do.
How about you watch Loena's jumps in slow motion and compare with Anna's? The difference in quality might blind you 😂

it's honestly one of the reasons why I have come to dislike watching women's. Loena was a breath of fresh air as well as some of the other girls. The overscoring just made it seem like no one could possibly catch up. Loena was still so far behind trusova which really made no sense to me because her interpretation and artistry was so much nicer to watch imo. Hate it here.

Euros really missed the Empress for me. I prefer watching mature women skate, rather than the kids. Don't get me wrong, they're lovely skaters, but it's not exciting for me.

Same goes for the men’s, I much prefer an artistic program with clean, high GOE triples than them fighting to land quads that break the flow of the performance. Quads are an amazing feat, but without any artistry I’m like 🤷🏻♀️
Yes, they are overscored in PCS and Anna should have been 6th or 7th after the SP, but the standings after the FP are just fine. Anything else than Podium for either Anna or Sasha would be even worse judging. As a viewer i definetely enjoyed Ekaterina's performance more but you can't ignore the fact that the program was much easier and the difference in TES is just too big to overcome. Loena might have challenged the podium with a clean skate, but she wasn't able to do so. The rest is too far away in difficulty.
At this point, the only thing that could stop Kamila Valieva to get the gold is herself... that or COVID

Honestly, it's not Anna's mental tenacity that gets her through anymore....it's the outrageous overscoring of her programs. She and Kamila are probably the most overscored of the group of girls.

Sasha was si over scored and so was Aliona at the beginning of the seasons
Kamila is barely overscored compared to Anna. The quality of Kamila's everything is much higher than Anna or Sasha. And yes Anna is overscored (ridiculously so at many events) but only once has Anna's overscoring ever caused Sasha to lose to her, it has always been Sasha messing up. The one exception was 2019 Rusnats where Anna beat Sasha by 0.07 despite doing 4 lutzes with no edge calls. every other time Anna's beat Sasha the margin was massive.
Sasha on the other hand was overscored into the bronze medal at last worlds which really should have gone to Sakamoto. Sasha's free program was one of the worst we've seen in the last 10 years from the Russians at worlds, like 2017 Pogorilaya or 2018 Zagitova bad. But somehow it got 66 PCS. Not to mention her outrageous short program PCS for a boring program with no combo also somehow getting higher than Sakamoto...

As in this case Anna is landing 7 triples and 2 double axels, same as Sakamoto or Loena Hendrickx who can also score in the low 220 range with the “standard layout.” 233 for Anna at worlds with no quad or 239 at Russian nationals was overscored (although everyone at nationals was overscored to be fair). Or at Europeans for example Anna got 168 for a free skate with only one quad which is just absolutely ridiculous. The quality of her elements outside the quad and of her general skating level is not better than Sakamoto or Hendrickx at all, but even if she got 0 points for the quad she still would have scored 153 free skate somehow...
For Kamila, her scores are way more accurate because her skating level and speed is actually very high and all her elements are good quality. Only her -3T can be overscored sometimes, and the composition of her programs which is not nearly as good as say Anna’s new short or Aliona’s leftovers. But 270 score for Kamila is pretty fair

@@lindatannock legit anna looks like shes lost weight these couple of weeks. like the muscle in her legs from earlier is gone. she looks really frail, shes unhealthly thin. it worries me. i know the last olympics evgenia and alina didnt eat or drink much. alina strugged to pee for the drug test and it took hours for her to actually pee to have the drug test sampled if she doped or not. 😬 thats not healthy. doing that (and being that thin) to the body can make them infertile. and also fuck up their bones ect. like evgenias back is fucked forever. she cant turn on one side due to it. 😳

I'll be honest, even though Anna is my favorite, she looks so fragile and physically weak as if she's going to break at every jump, saw this on 3Lutz&3Loop combo (compare it to Alina's same combo, it is way weaker), and on Quad FLz that really looked like a triple. Her strength is in her theatrical abilities and her emotional performance. For Sasha, it's just the opposite. She is very strong in jumps but very weak at theatrical abilities and has no emotional performance. Kamila has it all.
Anna's quad was FLIP ( i mean) not Lutz ( Flz, as U say), but yes, it was a ur , a little.

Anna is so insanely overscored it's become boring tbh.
It’s literally insane and it’s been like this ever since last season. Her skating skills have deteriorated SO MUCH and she’s still getting the same scores as when she was actually at a high level. Can’t believe how ay worlds last year she got an 81 for the sp with NO 3A, travelling spins and bad skating skills but aliona got 85 for the most perfect sp WITH a 3A and skating skills that Anna has never had

@@anastasia9854 Evgenia backloaded her short program to get more bonus points in the second half, so of course the score is high. The rules got changed after that olympics to where you aren't allowed to backload anymore.

I never said it was fine for evgenia to get that. Also evgenia backloaded so her jumps were worth 10% more which Anna couldn’t do at the worlds so she really has 0 excuse for that score.
I really respect Anya and her insane mental game, but her score has left me completely frustrated tbh.
Not to say that Sasha and Kami aren't scored very generously (esp those pcs for Sasha), but Anya, being left w/o a combo in the short and with one so-so quad in the free taking the silver? That was ridiculous. Sasha skated really messy, but she still should've gotten the silver overall imo.

i heard that she was already on her way out before kostornia was injured. Because apparently they have to do this test where they skate in front of members of the federation to be judged and they were pointing out her obvious horrible pre rotation but when kostornia got injured she was the only person who could be chosen cause lets be real they were never going to pick maya and daria was out. she really is just a shoe in to make sure eteri gets all 3 spots but eteri would replace her with someone else if there was any other option. she will be gone by next season. her will power wont be enough anymore to hide that technique

Trusova's injury has nothing to do with her falls, Trusova cannot cope with pressure she always chokes, when there is no expectation on her she performs much better - if you review her history you will be able to tell. Second her skating skills are terrible don't get me started on her crossovers. You are right about Anna's will however I think this will be her last season. Re the mens Denniss the bronze medalist has the best skating skills and jumps/spins of anyone at the event and you didn't even notice. Pairs cannot agree with you re Boikova and partner their technical skills are a mess and his jumps look like a wild cat inside a sack. No way did Minchin and co deserve that score they should have been third

Absolutely agree they are the best Russian pair and far superior to b/k and m/g in terms of actual skating and elements. They really have it all except for consistency. M/G are amazing skaters don’t get me wrong, but they are getting these scores because of their consistency. If T/M were consistent, imagine the scores they could get.
The hatred for Anna on this channel looks very strange: all these constant accusations of fake jumps, week programs, over-scoring, bribing judges... When I come in here, feel like I am in a kind of perverted degenerate community whose members don’t tolerate real beauty and true art.
The proof that Ana deserves to be "loved" by the judges is the audience. She is the favorite skater of the normal people . Anna's programs have the largest number of views on the Internet - hundreds of times more than other skaters (Loena, Lisa, etc.) have.

Thanks for the video, and let me express my probably unpopular opinion on the ladies. I am russian and I watched the whole competition live, and after the ladies' free something was odd to me, I felt a bit uneasy. I have a theory that teamtutberidze carried out a scheme at the tournament.
Prof. Mishin and Tuktamisheva's fans are rooting for Liza to go to the Olympics, and the information that "Liza's place in the team is secured" is all around russian mass media. After rusnats Kami's and Sasha's places were secured, and the third place is usually chosen judging by multiple factors (the scheme that allowed Diana Davis to go to the OG). My thoughts are that Eteri told her girls to skate their free rather relaxed and let Anya get silver, so that she proves her worth. My arguments:
1) I always try to listen to the conversations Eteri has with her girls at the kiss&cry zone, she is usually getting down to their mistakes, asking what went wrong, or even reprimanding. But now they were just laughing and chilling, even though Kami's and Sasha's mistakes could be red flags before OG, and with Anya Eteri returned to her usual attitude.
2) I understood that my uneasiness was because, unlike Kami's and Sasha's "usual" skates, these were different. Kamilla has been like a strained string during this season (maybe because of her nerves, she is typically clamped when performing her FS and she doesn't accept her mistakes with good humour). And Sasha doesn't laugh when her "easy" jumps aren't getting right for two competitions in a row (I am really worried that she can't land her 4T and uses all bad techniques to land flutzes).
3) Eteri is well-known for abusing the rules, and she knows that neither Kami nor Sasha would be against elevating their dear friend at almost no cost at all (and rusnats ice dance is still keeping my brows risen)
4) That is one of the best ways to show that the Empress is not eligible for OG: on one hand, Eteri has the stability machine, on the other, even if her girls are not stable, they don't lose that much.

Nah eteri may be a lot of things but she gave her skaters fair chance, the proof of this is 2018 Olympic. Eteri loved Zhenya like a daughter before she leave for Brian but she still equipped Alina with the highest base value program. After their number announced, look at her expression. She really did want Zhenya to win. True, she might want Anna in 2nd place and probably lobbied the judges for that hence her scores, but no way she would tell her skaters to give room for Anna.
