I love how Matt plays and sings this powerful piece of music so perfectly... and then ends it by doing a cheeky little smile at the crowd and saying 'cheers' in a quick, quiet and modest way... almost as if he changes in an instant from that extrovert musician to a introverted young man genuinely taken by the reaction of the crowd... Brilliant
Come into my life Regress into a dream We will hide And build a new reality Draw another picture Of the life you could've had Follow your instincts And choose the other path You should never be afraid You're protected From trouble and pain Why, why is this a crisis In your eyes again? Come to be How did it come to be? Tied to a railroad No love to set us free Watch our souls fade away And our bodies crumbling Don't be afraid I will take the blow for you And I've had recurring nightmares That I was loved for who I am And missed the opportunity To be a better man POETRY.
And I've had recurring nightmares That I was loved for who I am And missed the opportunity To be a better man Just this part says it all... my God, such poetry! This is one's MUSE most beautiful songs ever. *Sigh*
This song gives me chills. It speaks to me in a way that I can't express in words. It's one of my favourite songs of all time and I hope I'll get to see it live someday.
The piano bit around the climax sounds exactly like the piano intro to Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto. It's incredible how many different genres Muse incorporates into their music... Absolutely stunning. They are easily the greatest band in the world.
To the people who don't like the face he's crying, I ask you to compose a moving piece and then not be emotionally effected by it while singing before an audience with all your heart. Music can move and touch people in ways that some may yet understand.
"You should never be afraid, you're protected from trouble and pain, why, why is this a crisis in your eyes again" - always the same line that gives me goosebumps
I like this version, but I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I think the use of guitar in the original, rather than piano, gives it a more organic feel.
Someone wants a nice car, another one a big pricey property, those folks just want to be noticed *watch?v=ywhvj7UaDHo* Just isn't it great? Thumbs up if you happen to enjoy it!!
I like this version, but I gotta disagree, I like the tone the acoustic guitar gives it in the studio version, and not to mention all the string instruments that Muse actually orchestrates when they make their songs
You can so tell the audience was completely blown away after this performance. Matt Bellamy is literally the most talented individual to ever walk this planet. Chris and Dom are genius too, but Matt's an Alien.
The last chords he played were the beginning chords to his 2nd piano Concerto. Except that they were transposed down to c minor instead of beginning on f minor.
In the other songs, the fans are screaming and singing along. But in this song, everyone is quiet because they want to hear Matt's beautiful voice clearly... and because this song is EPIC!
I don't know why but I brutally underestimated this song when I was younger, but over the last few years I rediscovered this song and it's a fuckin masterpiece.I don't know, it now just hits different.
Is this the greatest performance of all time? In my opinion, nothing has ever or will ever beat this performance. Just the entire band comes together so perfectly and they RIP it!!!
hey everyone these lyrics: "I've had recurring nightmares That I was loved for who I am And missed the opportunity To be a better man" are brilliant. seriously.
"I've had recurring nightmares, that I was loved for who I am, and missed the opportunity to be a better man" I'm getting this tattooed on me on my birthday on the 24th (hopefully!)
Esto es una obra de arte, exquisito! Hace tanto que no escuchaba un grupo que fuera tan completo y tan rico tanto en melodía, como en letra, como en la voz de su vocalista... Son magníficos! Esto si es música!
this is so beautiful, and powerful. i just LOVE this band so much. it's been a LONG TIME since a band like this has come around & affected me so much. they remind me of queen a lot (meaning, they're diverse and can be so many things all at once). just SO GOOD. xoxoxo
I have never imagined that I would like any band after Linkin Park, but you sound so great that I keep listening to your songs over and over,go on like this.
i listen to muse with 3 ipods. all at once. I use all of my computers with youtube open at the same time . I put in a big effort to listen to muse. Because muse puts in a GIANT effort to write the amazing songs ; Put on these jaw dropping concerts ; Focus on making music the way they want rather than a record company that they declined. They are true to the fans.
This SONG is simply wonderful!!!!:) muse are the main representers of today's good music! and not only in their studio albums! they have proved that they are way better in live performances!!! totally adore them!!! GO ON MUSE...JUST LIKE THIS !!!
what makes this song so cool is that the live version has a different vibe from the album version. the live version has more emphasis on the piano but the album version has more emphasis on the strings/guitar. Muse
"I have had recurring nightmares, that I was loved for who I am, and missed the opportunity. To be a better man," Fucking awesome.
Ignacio Sicaro López really kick my ass
Ignacio Sicaro López Yeh! Fucking A.

Exactly 💯
The most underrated song from the BH&R, it has amazing lyrics, is great, dramatic and lovely :)
It’s a masterpiece. Could’ve easily got carried over to the next album tour
Absolutely..
Amen to that!
The piano is so emotionally charged...
Matthew Bellamy puts so much emotion into this song you can just feel the pain in the lyrics. Genius.
Neo2k7 not anymore
boyman There's still passion imo. He's just matured alot more and their not teens anymore.
Such an intense range of emotions and vision, despair to idealistic romantic, dystopia to self-realization.
it's amazing, right?

Yes 😮
I'd really like to hear this song with a live orchestra
Why is no one talking about Chris playing the guitar in this one?
Bass
@@alexflores3890 no,that's a PRS 513 Guitar

Jane Cat Me too, me too💜
were you ever able to see it live?
I love the little smile at the end, like he's so happy he nailed it

Muse is really the best band in music history and this song is the proof

"You should never be afraid, you're protected from trouble and pain, why, why is this a crisis in your eyes again" - always the same line that gives me goosebumps
now, this, people, is what called EPIC masterpiece !
Playing a wonderfull piece of piano, Singing a great piece art, And then just mildly say cheers and walk off with some water
LIKE A BOSS
I need to listen to this song live before I die
Leandro Ezequiel Ferranti same here
Would be actually rare. This song hasn’t been played ever since August 2007.
You’re gonna be waiting a while bro
Personally I like this better than the studio version.
I like this version, but I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I think the use of guitar in the original, rather than piano, gives it a more organic feel.
Nase Pybus Yeah but I guess I like the sound of piano :P we all got different tastes

I like this version, but I gotta disagree, I like the tone the acoustic guitar gives it in the studio version, and not to mention all the string instruments that Muse actually orchestrates when they make their songs
This isn't considered one of Muse's best songs, but for me it's up there with Butterflies and Hurricanes.
The lyrics, the classically inspired piano composition, the emotional singing.. Show me another performance that beats this I'll wait
There is one, but from a different band, but still British!
I have had recurring nightmares,
That I was loved for who I am,
And miss the opportunity
To be a better man.
So good...
Easily the best version of this song
Muse: Live > Studio. Enough said.
On many song hell yeah.
On some other, not so much.... TBH, I prefer City of Delusion on album....
Matt's singing. The piano. The drums. The lyrics that speak to you. Everything about this song is flawless.
Best thing about this song?
It's in 3/4 time signature.
Theodore Kirby part of it is in 6/8 and part of it is in 3/4.
@@AndyFilms2000 isnt 6/8 equal to 3/4
Hasan Mutlu yes but the groupings and feels are completely different
You can so tell the audience was completely blown away after this performance.

One of the most underrated MUSE tracks
A fucking masterpiece I’m so sorry for people who have no idea who muse are
The last piano solo reminds me Rachmaninov xD
This is definitely a legendary band!
the chords are pretty rachmaninovian, probably was inspired by him
RocheSSBM Tchaikovsky, actually. Directly from a piece of his, though I forget which.
@@ianlenn5408 I'm late, but Piano Concerto no. 1?
Delia Cedano Pretty sure it's based on the beginning of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto no. 2
The last chords he played were the beginning chords to his 2nd piano Concerto. Except that they were transposed down to c minor instead of beginning on f minor.
I can’t describe what i felt.. just
Too much for my poor little heart
This song is total perfection.
Gives me chills everytime.
Fantastic muse.
Oh this fucking song. One of my absolute Muse favourites since its release 10 years ago.
morgan is the man
I love it how Matt re-harmonizes the first and last verses of the song!
it's fucking divine
If God asked me: "you have the opportunity to back in time, where and when do you want to go?" I would answer Wembley, Jun 16-17 / 2007.
One of my favorites live performances
I wish I could like videos multiple times...
it's been probably well over a year since I watched this over and over again and was just obsessed with it... just remembered why ❤️
Unbelievably good. Muse rocks! 🤘🏼
In the other songs, the fans are screaming and singing along. But in this song, everyone is quiet because they want to hear Matt's beautiful voice clearly... and because this song is EPIC!
this song is on my top 10 of all Muse songs, and the live version is even better, so much more emotional...
Goosebumps all the way!
this song= a masterpiece
god, matt plays with such intensity and feeling no matter what instrument.
Hoodoo is one of their best songs
I don't know why but I brutally underestimated this song when I was younger, but over the last few years I rediscovered this song and it's a fuckin masterpiece.I don't know, it now just hits different.
My mother says that Matt looks like a cat meowing. She loves Muse.
I've had recurring nightmares
That I was loved for who I am
And missed the opportunity
To be a better man
"Dont be afraid
I'll take the blow for you..."
This is what love means for me.
BEST PERFORMANCE EVER!!

You know muse started when they were 13! They changed their name several times and finally settled on MUSE. no wonder they play so well together

Top 5 all-time Muse song.
MUSE is the symbiosis of all of that I love in music
They're really fantastic!
I know EXACTLY how you feel, this song is perfection.

3:12 sounds like the intro of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto no.2... Matt loves Rachmaninoff so it wouldn't surprise me!
Это Чайковский
the distinctive guitar adds a lot to this song, i like it!

He looks so happy at the end of the songs ;)
