I have a soft spot for this song. It has a totally different vibe to me after watching the documentary. They worked so hard and deserved better treatment.
How many people watching this can tell about the sweat, tears, effort, frustration, and practice put behind this? All kpop groups work hard but it really makes a person appreciate them more once they get to see how hard they've worked. This video includes the original members; I'm not surprised that three of them left or were replaced.
You should watch the biography interview it's called 9muses bbc documentary. You surely will cry, it shows their hard work in promoting this song and pre debut hardships
@@SouravDas-oc3bl that's why I'm watching this now because I am watching the documentary but I thought I would get a better understanding if I watch this video and then go back to watch the rest. I'm just under 37 minutes in and at the music video shoot for this song.
The Korean public should have given them another chance. This group has no bad songs. They even after Playboy and being mistreated by their company, they pulled up their socks and came together with Figaro, 1 way ticket, News, dolls and others which are all classics. Just look at their confidence levels. There is a drastic change and they had grown with every MV. They look much happier in their other videos. They deserved to be recognized and at least an Award. I respect and love you all girls.
I got into this group about 2 years ago and their discography is stellar. Really good songs and they are great performers as well. Highly underrated. They deserved better.
No Playboy is my favourite 9muses song for one reason. The quick, short and relatable "no" is so personally accessible and it speaks to me on a metaphysical, spiritual and emotional level.
People say this song was terrible for a debut. But it's a bop. It was written by JYP himself originally for wonder girls and he asked them if they wanted this or Nobody for a comeback, and they picked nobody. This went to 9muses then.
musically it’s not a bad song at all. it’s just got incredibly terrible mixing and mastering, probably because star empire didn’t have enough resources or didn’t want to invest enough into it.
I would argue it was bad for 2010 standards. I can't name any worse kpop songs from that time and there weren't nearly as many groups as there are now so the bad ones stood out more back then.
I’m pretty sure every member hates this song since this was their most controversial. Sera has expressed how traumatic that song is to her. I’d prefer them to re-record Ladies honestly.
I honestly want them to return to kpop . Maybe p nation can be their label because they weren’t that bad, just horribly treated and managed. If they do decide to do a reunion performance like girls generation, they should do dolls or ticket!! Those were fun songs.
0:55-1:06 Eunji (Vocalist, Main Dancer) 1:07-1:21 Sera (Leader, Main Vocalist) 1:23-1:31 Minha (Maknae, Vocalist) 1:42-1:54 Erin (Face of the Group, Lead Dancer, Main Rapper) 1:56-2:08 Hyemi (Lead Vocalist) 2:26-2:39 Sam (Vocalist, Lead Rapper) The other 3 members in this video have left the group to continue in their modeling career. The 3 new members are Kyungri, SungaH, and Hyuna.
2nd gen Kpop songs had such a unique vibe! I'm a 3rd and 4th gen stan but 9muses, 2ne1, Brown Eyed Gilrs, T-Ara, SNSD and so many others I probably forget made legendary Bops ♥️
9 muses came to a conversation and I was like "I've never heard about them", and I just played this song today and now I'm remembering that I used to be obssesed with this song, but I wasn't into k-pop so I never looked up for info about them. But they were amazing!
Personal opinion: this song was a HIT on my mind since the very first time I listened to it more than 10 years ago!!! I have been recently obssessed with 9Muses again, remembering how I used to dance their songs alone in my room and How I felt when Sam, Sera and Eunji left the group, I cried back then... 🥹🩷
I think it is not so much the recording version, but the live performance on-stage which got all the negative reviews. At that time, Nine Muses was still a rookie group, and unused to live performances, so the live singing might be one reason why it sounded so bad then. Inside the studio, it is a different matter since they can do multiple re-recordings and editing of the song.
It was said before there debut 9muses didn't have strong vocals apart from Sera, most of them were just great dancers and models. But throughout the years there vocals have improved show much more.
Wow. Both get compared to Snsd Sooyoung and Hyoyeon. If you look at this from a height perspective all of them are above 1.7 meters 5.572 ft. The Only Exception here if you're a girl's Generation fan is Sooyoung due to her being 172cm like Eunji.
I didn't like this song until I watched the documentary. It made me love Sera soo much more, poor baby :c I was sad she left along with LeeSaem, Euaerin and Eunji. What bothered me most was hearing the company hiring girls that they knew couldn't sing or dance. Why do that to your company and these girls? So sad...
Because they were all models. Notice how tall they are. Also they worked soooo hard and look at em now, they are one of the most synchronized girl group out there.
Even before they had this line-up, they had different girls. I'm not sure what happened, but they had to change them, and even before debut, they were planning on replacing Jaekyung with Hyuna, but Hyuna wanted to wait until she was ready because if she debuted with them, she would only have a few months to train and catch up. Kyungri and Sungah were part of the actual predebut line-up but their vocals weren't that great, so even this line-up is better.
Despite everything that surrounds this (and truly it's heartbreaking to think what they all went through during this time) this to me, stands out amongst a large majority of k-pop songs. This wasn't your run of the mill light hearted boppy tune where it's all sweet and pink, this was a mature and liberating track that was far, far ahead of it's time considering what all the other groups were doing. Even though now looking at it they weren't all that bad, but also there debut stage was really bad. Like they just stopped singing half way through the stage. 👀👀
Coming back after hearing about the upcoming disbandment...I don't even know where to start actually... I know that they deserved so much more than this. Did you watch the documentary? Because this era was very difficult for the members. The company was treating them badly. In fact, Sera said that she cried when she saw the 18 (old Korean age) members who were underage at this time.
It shocks me how many people are still talking about the song itself rather than the trauma they went through, go watch the documentary, it's heartbreaking and terrifying
Okay I'm 9 years late but you can't stop me from loving this song!! I salute to the hardwork of these girls, there documentary really showed us what actually happens behind the scenes with our favourite artists and what they go through...I salute these girls for surviving that!
+Jamie Davis i love it too i think it was just ahead of time kpop wasnt releasing this type of song during 2011, just few girly songs this is just awesome

This girls so gorgeous
전설의 띵곡...
why isnt this more mainstream?! this is pop perfection. i love how so many of them get to sing lead.
I don't understand why people say this song is bad it's one of my favorite songs Sera can sing so beautiful i just love everything their voices, the dance moves, the MV just EVERYTHING
Did you watch the documentary? Because this era was very difficult for the members. The company was treating them badly. In fact, Sera said that she cried when she saw the 18 (old Korean age) members who were underage at this time.
나뮤 팬이지만 사실 이 뮤직비디오 볼때마다 줄리엔강의 근육이 더 눈에 들어온다. 남자들의 워너비이자 남신
I can't believe I forgot how good this song is
미쓰백보고 왓는데, 멤버들 힘들었겠다싶다 ㅠ 아휴..ㅠ
Ok
맞는말이죠 저도 그거보고 왔으요
Sometimes I go back to this channel and pretend that we're still living in the 2nd generation of K-pop.
i still listen to this song, i miss 9muses
It shocks me how many people are still talking about the song itself rather than the trauma they went through, go watch the documentary, it's heartbreaking and terrifying
Real women, no girls and they were awesome and still are.
After watching the documentary, this hits me right where it hurts!!
Okay I'm 9 years late but you can't stop me from loving this song!!
I salute to the hardwork of these girls, there documentary really showed us what actually happens behind the scenes with our favourite artists and what they go through...I salute these girls for surviving that!
Aw 9muses were so great with the original members, so many catchy songs! they deserved more popularity
Poor Sera was sick when they filmed this :(
?who is sera
?who is sera
+Lna Rbrt The girl at 1:08
+Woo Jihwan Thank you
she is beautiful *-*
Legend has it shes still sick to this day
im so glad that they are living their lives better now then before
The moment you realize that Hyemi is the only original member left in this video.
The moment you realize that Hyemi was a Namyu member till end
so gyongree wasn't original member then? wow
Peachymee she was added in 2012
Poor Hyemi, the camera man hated her or something...
Until the end they stayed
this song is so catchy lol 😭 it kinda reminds me of don’t stop the music by rihanna
SAME
the mv itself has such a creepy vibe, it looks even scarier and forced aftee the documentary
Same
same their company is toxic
@@Nana_haidar I heard they mentally abuse their idols and even physically (i dont know how to write it) abused one of the girls in this group
@Rieley Zelten their CEO slapped Sera's face which is cut out in the documentary video
@@emil6936 the CEO called Jaekyung because she left the group and not coming back
The way this song bops but also gets me real sad about the abuses they suffered through 😭
the most talented girls
Few days left for 2020. Im here just because i miss them singing this song. This song always be on my play list since 2011. I love this song.
Super beautiful fantastic wonderful excellent dance
i know this is supposed to be one of the worst kpop debut songs but i
love it
+Jamie Davis i love it too
i think it was just ahead of time
kpop wasnt releasing this type of song during 2011, just few girly songs
this is just awesome
+Jamie Davis Newer fans are a bit spoiled with the generally higher production values of newer videos, but this song still goes off! There are far more cringey debut songs, believe me ;)
Cbisquit *Makes shifty eyes at Tilt My Head.*
+Cbisquit Poor Girl's Day and Stellar.
+Nameless True.
I really love this song...really hardwork,effort n tears.. 👍👍
i know they were scared to be dressed like that , and for me it would be a bad choice if in this song they were talking about "wanting" a playboy. but here they are dressed like that and telling the boys , no i dont want a playboy and i dress for myself and not you! i love this soooo much!
I heard this song when it was released, I loved it, was my first contact with K-pop and was such a bop, now 10 years later I found it again, feel like crying, it's still a bop ❤️
Ml studio check✨
*how can I forget about this SONG!!! Thank you UA-cam for recommending me this iconic song miss this era* ❤️😭
These girls have all my respect
Why do I love this. This is not so bad, the recording and producing is just bad - the song itself has potential especially for the time it came out
why is this song supposed to be bad? it's catchy and I like it a lot. Oh my poor 9muses
綺麗すぎて憧れるわぁ❤❤❤
Still listening in 2023. 9Muses was one of the best 2nd gen girl groups but unfortunately couldn't make it big.
This song is truly beautiful even though i just discover it recently through the documentary but it somehow gives me goosebumps and keeps reminding me ov my childhood years where those type ov beats were popular, it is nostalgic♥
어떤 다큐요? 저도 한번 보고 싶네요?
@@jh-tc4vn sorry I don't speak Korean I didn't get it
this is a very catchy song! love from the usa! i would love to hear this in an english version.
