  • These homeowners work in sales for a medical device company and travel a lot. “So when they’re home they want a quiet, comfortable and zen-feeling space,” says designer Trevor Fulmer, who was hired by the couple to refresh the living spaces in their recently purchased Revere, Massachusetts, home.
The couple had already chosen kitchen finishes, including white cabinets, a gray island and marble tile. But for the living room, dining area and TV room, Fulmer, who used Houzz Pro software to manage the project, was starting mostly with a blank slate. He used the kitchen’s warm grays as a jumping-off point, then set about blending each of his client’s styles. One half of the couple, who’s from India, loves layers of texture and gold tones; the other, from the Czech Republic, prefers a modern European minimalist flair.
A hemp grasscloth wallcovering in the living room has a golden sheen that’s complemented by a brass rod chandelier and other yellow and gold details. Meanwhile, curves in the furniture throughout the living spaces soften hard lines found in the home’s architecture. The result: rich and beautifully decorated interiors that still deliver a calming effect. www.houzz.com/ideabooks/16090...

The hemp grass on the wall....beautiful. And that chaise...perfect. The light fixtures are unique and fitting. Thanks for sharing. Loved everything they did with this floor.

I love the light fixture in the dining room. And the room separator with that book shelf is really cool.

This is very impressive with no details missed. As Trevor is interviewed in the video, I could feel myself following all his points and reasonings of his choices in design. It was natural to be caught up in the flow generated throughout the narrative. Great artwork selected within the bookcase shelves and the colors were all very warm and welcoming. Well done, Trevor!

Gorgeous style ideas in this home. The solutions employed divide the space(s) beautifully. Would love to see custom cabinetry, doors and storage units that are more custom & premium, rather than the builder-grade white ones that currently exist in the home; they just look downgraded compared to the luxurious surroundings created in the home. Otherwise, the color pallets are sumptuous. I most appreciate the designer’s consideration of his clients personality throughout. 💫

What a stunning space and I don't use that word lightly. The furniture pieces are perfect and that shelving unit separating the spaces is such a great element/idea and gorgeous to boot. The pendant lighting is just beautiful! The hide rugs feel like a tired trend at this point, and it looks out of place and unattractive underneath a dining table of all places. I appreciate the link offered on like-items with the idea book, but I wish there was more info on brand/where to purchase the actual items, in particular furniture, of the homes profiled.

How do you feel about inset ceiling lighting (I see them in this home) Are they in or out of style now? The last remodeler added them to my condo living room and bedroom and, honestly, I am ambilivent about them as they seem like harsh light to me. I really prefer softer lamp lighting and so I have added multiple table lamps throughout my home.....I'd appreciate your thoughts about them as a professional designer.
