@@BandPGarage thanks brother. My dad was a freakishly talented tool and die maker. When I was 8 he built my 20 year old sister a completely rebuilt/designed engine for little Healy. Not a single gasket and the damn didn’t leak anything, ever. No one believed it was a British car😆
I enjoyed watching you figure out how to improve the strength of the couplings on new quick attach structure, most of which was formally on the 555's bucket. Your planning for fabricating this was excellent! It was great to see everything come together and work great. I always enjoy your videos and your sense of humor. Please keep posting your videos &I'll keep watching them. Thanks again Captain.
You may not realise it Mike but your problem solving/ingenuity is second to none ( especially on a budget ). You’re an inspiration and your videos bring so much joy for many reasons. Best wishes to you and your family, from Britain 👍🇺🇸🇬🇧
The ol' 555 is shaping up nicely. That quick attach will be nice. I'm just wondering how long it will be until both tractors are wearing the wrong buckets. It would be quite the laugh lol. Nice job Captain.
I was wondering how the whole quick attach was going to work since the connection points were one with the bucket. It all started making sense as you started mocking it up. One thing is for sure, if you ever have to replace the bucket, a lot of fabrication would have to occur to make it work with the quick attach setup. Another great video with the classic Captain Kleeman humor and ingenuity!
I sometimes wonder about the ideas I have for using "equipment in a manner other than that it was designed for" are sane. Then while waiting for daylight, I watch a Captain Kleeman video, and realize that the ideas are completely insane, but they might just work!🤪 Thanks and take care!
My guess is that you are salvaging an old barn or outbuilding. Heck, knowing you it will be a silo to transform into a Rental Cabin faux Lighthouse! LOL Too bad time and money are too short to order up a custom SOT Metalworks grill with FORD 555 strollcut into it above ventalation holes, put Blue LED backlighting behind the logo. But this is a Work Machine, not a Show Machine. Enjoying following along as you repair and make upgrades to this Ole Girl!
I have to be honest with you Mike I haven't the foggiest idea what you are doing with the quick attachment but I trust you, if any one can, the Captain can.
LOL, talk about a change of worlds? You welding and fabricating and MBTS working with DP? Another reason to like your channel Mike, just never know, ya know? Thank you sir.
Gettin her done captain . Your attatude is awesome just like my wife’s . That’s why I keep her around and will continue too watch . Sarcasm love that shit . Looking awesome .
Oh man do I love seeing you made modifications to the 555. Keep ‘em coming. I have no idea what your project is that requires a man lift and forks on the 555.
I didn't realize that all quick-attach implements had the same spacing. I thought the 755 would be narrower compared to the size of the 555. That makes it really handy.
I bought a Cut 50 plasma cutter off Amazon for $100 bucks and frankly it has surprised me so much. It sure saves $$$ on torch gases costs plus it's way faster, IMHO. Hope to see you getting one soon. Mayve Vevor will surprise you with one!! For free, of course..😮
As always captain you always amaze me. Your ingenuity is beyond compared to a lot of people who don't use common sense. I can hardly wait until you finish your project, especially this one. Thank you for sharing!😊
If you ever come by some more older Welding rods that don't work well put the rods in an oven or a steel can and bake them to remove dampness. They'll work a lot better trust me.
Mike you know you're welds are getting better as grinding time gets shorter every time you weld, it's looking great can't wait to see it in action 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
All the Chinese Quick attach brackets have issues with how the Pins hold the attachment to the machine. Usually when back dragging the attachment comes off. The problem is due to the pins angle points as well as spacing at the lower pin placement. Many folks complain about it, myself included. Great job so far Mike.
I bet Your Salvaging an Old Boat too build the Yacht Cabin...An old Wooden Boat of course...LOL...😂..The old 555 is coming along Nicely Bud...Great Video
Have you ever asked Aron (Man Behind The Scenes) for cutting and/or welding advice or he voluntarily remarked about your cutting and/or welding and if so, on either, what was it? ;-) From what I've seen, for an amateur your cutting and welding looks pretty good.
The 555 is looking pretty nice! Having the quick change mount on the front opens up a bunch of possibilities. If there are remote hydraulic couplings on the front (or could be added), maybe you could run that big log splitter on your backhoe, instead of having to rent a skid steer.
Don’t rush it, make it right, you’re doing a great job for what your working with and equipment your doing the project with. Stay the course, you are going to win and it will work great.
It's always great to see that you are putting safety first, like how you were wearing your closed toe Crocs whilst you were using your cutting torch to cut steel. :) Just funning with ya, I really enjoy your creativeness and fresh outlook. Keep up the great content.
Hi Mike. Functionality is what it is about. Beauty is only in the eye of the beholder. As long as it works, and you do not have to revisit the spot again, it's just fine. What am I talking about since almost no one will see it? It sounds like you may be taking a building apart and putting the metal on pallets for easy loading and unloading. If so, remember the metal banding. Have good days!
Hey Cap't, A needle scaler works great for cleaning the slag off those welds and also works good for cleaning areas you cant reach with a wire wheel before welding. Great video.
I'd say you are doing a darn good job bud!! Very creative and you are making work for you. And just a guess but maybe next project is building blocks of some kind? Friday Freebee !!!!
Captain, I'd love to see you, Matt Diesel Creek, MartyT from New Zeeland and Wes from Watch Wes Work together rehabing some old iron. You guys always are a pleasure to watch. Especially today sitting in a hospital while my Bebita Wife is going thru eye surgury. The only thing I could think of that would be cool to salvage would be an old paddle wheel or some Tug parts, but knowing you there’s no telling. I’m sure it will be cool what ever it is.
You took a huge leap of faith cutting the bucket attachment off 😮 Could tell you were apprehensive about doing that, but you have gone through it methodically and over engineered where you can...... looks fantastic Sir !!! 😎 For the bottom of the loader frame, yoh may be able to weld on a small piece of steel plate to act as a wear plate to help protect the bottom pins..... It is not exactly what you are after, but may help..... 🤔
I saw the cardboard templates for the gussets, then I saw the actual steel gussets he cut out... quite a bit thicker than I thought. That should be pretty strong !!
Wow, that's a lot of fab work. Awesome job taking on the challenge. Salvaging a barn is a good guess. If it's on pallets though, perhaps rock for a retaining wall?
Great video Captain! All that hard work is surely paying off, the Ole 555 is looking better and better. I'm just going to say you're brothers place.. but, don't think he is 2 hours away.. so idk lol can't remember.
Gotta say I love your clearly intentional method of helping keep the parts of the metal cool you arent trying to cut or bend by using the standing rainwater ;-P Edit: HAHA later in the video you use it to quench or cool the metal LOVE IT .... also throwing darts at a dart board.... jones round barn
The backhoe is great, but the best purchase so far is that Miller welder. You've built some amazing stuff so far. I'm guessing the forks need to move some pallets that you are loading with cedar to complete the Yaht and goat barn. Hope it's a good haul. Cheers Captain!
The 555 is coming along nicely!! If I had to guess, you're probably salvaging some old barn timbers and possibly metal. If im right the 555 would make quick work for moving that stuff around. Love the vids bud, keep em comin!! 👍
Got a couple tricks for you. When starting your cuts with a torch once you’ve achieved your pre-heat back off the material and press your oxygen lever then start back in your material. This will clean up the starts of your cuts and prevent popping. Also when your laying something out that has paint you can preserve your marks by center punching them. After you’re done grinding the paint or rust you just need to scribe a line across your punch marks and your done. No second layout. Keep on keeping on brother!
Retired welder here. Giving credit where credit is due. You are doing a fine job fitting and welding. Looks awesome. Thanks 👍👍👍👍
Agreed.👌
Working with underpowered equipment and still gettin er done!🤙
Thanks!
Growing up my dad had the ability to measure once, cut once. ME! Measure 14 times cut once but he loved me anyways 😁
Glad to know I ain’t the only one who has to measure more than once to get it right
My dads a fabricator can free hand a straight line…me can barely cut a straight line with a laser
