I appreciate that you're a homesteader like the rest of us, on a budget and doing your best. Nothing like watching a 'homesteader' do a project with their new $80k Kubota mini, then watching Kleeman out here keeping it real. Keep on keeping on Captain!!
🤣🤣 I know exactly what you mean
I totally agree and beg to differ with that bracket which did not comply. I demand a measure and think the Captain will be found correct.
Great video as usual. Realistic home projects with a budget (unlike most youtubers) with your humor is a perfect combination.
well said, SO true !
Hey Mike: "He says it can not be done, should not get in the way of he who is doing it!" Love it! Did I tell you, I have hydraulic hoses, too! Lee
'' i use a drill with no clutch cause it make me feel alive '' ... that one did cracked me up ... keep up the god work brother.
Aint gotta be pretty if it works! I legit am waiting to see a video series called Junkyard Jackpot and it be you in a junkyard finding gems to revive in the most epic McGyver way...
Another good 555 video. She’s looking good. I love to see that every firefighter has a big hammer always available to break stuff. 😂
There She Blows! Capt'n, by the time you are done, the 555 will have all new hoses! I am glad you were able to get that one on camera!
Dr Fixit strikes again.... Numerous times!
Cap’n you’re turned the triple nickel into a virtual sculpture. Grinder, cutting torch hammer and chisel…. If Michelangelo had access to your tool kit he could have sculpted David out of iron!!!
Thanks for the giggles!
Always appreciate the support!
Mike, the quick attach on the forks is the cat's meow. It is fun watching you figuring out challenging things and making it work with some 7018 or 6011, angle grinder, a few hammers, a chisel and some paint. You will do fine on your next project with an "almost new" Ford tractor/backhoe. Continued blessings to you, Mike.
"Cut's not square" Who would have thought!😂😂❤
The blown hose at the end was awesome... video wise.
The Captain said it before... it's not a matter of if, but when.
At this rate, we're going to see every hose replaced. 😆
Lol
Yep! Another one bites the dust! Waiting to see which tire fails next as well! Why replace all of the hoses and tires now when they still have some life in them! Just keep going until they fail epically! Another great video of Captain Kleeman's epic and tragic adventures. Run what you brung on a budget!!!! 👍👍💪💪😎😎🤣🤣
I have to say what a fabulous job you done Mike, 5.5 🌟s that quick attach is going to come in handy on the homestead and what ever job you may get. As always God bless y'all from Gaffney South Carolina viewer 🙏❤️💯
Your welding has really progressed. MBTS must be a great teacher!
MBTS would be proud of you!! It’s working, and Bones has a new set of hands 💪 Bones was talking to you at the end, “phew I’m done Captain “ 😂 Nicely done Mike 👍🇺🇸
Always great to see your smiling face on another "do it my own way" video. Your sense of humor and dedication to "run wut ya brung" mentality is refreshing. Keep up the great work.
Thanks 👍
Mike , next time to bend a plate easier, draw a line where you want it bent and cut sections of the line with a torch and then heat it and it will bend easier! Kinda like cutting a dotted line Mike, that’s how I used to bend hardened AR 400 plate! I hope you know what I’m talking about my friend! After you get it bent then you weld up the slits that you cut! Just trying to help out brother, I’ve got a few tips in my back pocket Mike! lol 😂
Hey "FACE", I don't think you will ever have an exterior rust problem again since you seem to "lubricate" the exterior quite regularly! LOL!!! Thanks for taking us along! J.R.
Just have to keep the paint oiled 🤣
Maybe fluid fill the front tires to help with weight up front.
It's nice knowing the world will always balance you out. But you do have the bright side. Fix it before your on a job. Need more 1" plate on the forks! Lol
Nice job catching that hose blowing on camera.
Thank God for cabs!
You can taste that oil for 2 days if you get it on your face.
It's been a great project video.
Hydraulic fluid (the cheap kind, like I use in my elderly equipment), does do wonders for making things shiny. Thanks for the video, take care.
And double as camouflage base when it gets dusty!
The ole 555 just wanted to look good after all the improvements. Shined herself right up.
A 'misty' morning has a whole new meaning when a hydraulic hose breaks 😁
🤣
What a cool result seeing those forks on the 555. Way to go!
💪
Man, watching this I really learn to appreciate having a lathe and a mill. Really not bad given the circumstances 😅
Congrats. Looks great! Hydraulic hoses are as you say, just a part of it. Have a fantastic day sir!

Was curious what the postage would be on a brick😂. Very nice job indeed Capt. No doubt that ran when parked machine has a new lease on life thanks to you. Keep up the great work my man. 😁👍
6:22 The face of determination and concentration. Love it! The Gecko is thinking he finally made the big time. A Kleeman video. Have a great day. 🙂
I’m thinking he said, “Why did I give up my day job with Geiko?”
Great video Mike. What would life be without the little ups and downs. Thanks for sharing.
Another hose bites the dust. Eventually, all will be replaced. The missing bucket is throwing balance off. I'm sure Captain will come up with a solution.
I love watching your videos with my 3 year old son (we skip around through the long ones 🙂), and the end of this video exemplifies why. Great attitude! Keep up the good work, Captain Kleeman!
Kleeman's most featured tool of the week...
😎 The HAMMER 😎
Keep up the good work.
And if that don't work get a BFH.
Your Innovation and creativity and personality are awesome it's not how it looks it's how it works
I’m off for an awful Reason but this Video sure Brightens it just a Lotta Bit

I do believe that backhoe is gonna be a way better version of its previous self. Excellent work as always Mike 👍 Thank you for One of my five favourite channels on UA-cam. Best wishes to you and yours, from Britain 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
LOL Looks like the ole 555 keeps on giving us more content. No problem just a bit more rust protection. Have a great week!
As inconvenient as it is I believe it was a blessing that hose blew at home. Great job adapting the machine for your needs , that will be priceless help for you at home !!! Love it
Hi Mike. Your plan came together. There is a phrase about that. I said building but did not say brick even though your hand gestures may have given it away. Why not put all of the guesses that you say are correct into a hat and draw one out. You're nice enough to do the giveaway so I don't think folks should mind at all. Have good days!
I think people probably are not giving you enough credit for the skill and time it must have taken to match the paint on that I beam from the fork lift mast to the back of the bucket so perfectly.....I for one appreciate that kind of attention to detail.....💪
🤣🤣🤣. I'm glad someone noticed
Ya know Mike, If you had a plasma cutting table and water to run it and elecltricity, a building to store it in you might be able to get something done? LOL, another great video sir, trial and error are the best teachers for sure. Cannot say it enough, you excel is whatever you put your mind to. Also, you need to get more paint on the machine. You can hear that it runs better with the new paint? Hey i'm retired and have nothing else to do but make sure that I get a smile out of you. Thanks again for taking us along sir.
That's the fun of customizing and fabricobbling as you go.
If it doesn't fit the first time round then it isn't a mistake; it just needs more adjusting! :)
The 555 is going to be very useful once she realizes she's not retired anymore!!! 😂😂. Great job Captain 💪
Great work again!!!! Just goes to show what a little patience can do for you, and I do mean A LITTLE😂😂😂 LOL!!! Just an additional side note when torching, if you skip the step where you grind it smooth, it will save time and also allow you to later catch the back of your hand or tip of a finger. If your really lucky, in the right situations you can even hit your head, don't ask how I know, speaking for a friend😮😊
Live and learn, adapt and overcome. It ain't stupid if it works.... And nobody dies lol. I know your repairs and techniques are not perfect. But a wise man once said... Nobody's perfect... So why even try🤪👍👍👍
Love how well you took the hose blowing at the end! You’re a hard working fellow and your drive, energy and since of humor keeps me coming back for more! Nicely Done 👏
Those improvements are amazing. Having a quick attach setup on the backhoe will benefit you immensely. Stay safe Captain and I promise I won’t say anything about the hose blowing out - nope. 😂
Cardboard duct tape and a trash bag. Fit a temporary liner in the backhoe bucket. Fill with cement. Make your own counterweight when you have something heavy to lift with the front. Unless you have a big rock laying around.
Dog gone it Captain.
Your perseverance getting projects worked out and done is second to none amoung DIYers.
Even with all the little and large problems that pop up and sometimes with a couple of Gremlins along you seem to end up with exactly what you need.
Can't wait to see what that project is you're going to be taking on.
No doubt it's gonna be an interesting one.
Amazing what you have done to turn that old POS into something useful! Well done!
Nice job sir, glad it worked out for you. If I may make a suggestion, next time you want bed a plate that heavy, take a cut off wheel and cut about 4 grooves into the plate about a 1/4 to 1/3 thru the plate space about, oh maybe 1/4-3/8” apart, and then if necessary heat the plate and bend it over and when done weld the the cut grooves back in, grind them off and BOB’s your uncle, you be done. I have used that technique in field service work and it worked well for me anyway. Thanks for the update, really appreciate the videos young man.
One things for sure, you’re getting all the potential lift capacity out of your loader with how much lighter the forks are! Looking mighty good!
🤣 definitely! I had one fella comment I was making it too heavy and would limit my lift, buddy, I can barely keep the nose down long enough to slide under a pallet 🤣
Hey Cap, At a certain point you said, “count my blessings”…. I appreciate you saying that. Are you familiar with a song that carries that same title? I enjoy watching you! ‘1 step forward 2 steps backward’ but even so, you are able to prevail! Great! Very much encourages me in what I’m doing!
Mike, after a season, you have progressed to having really nice and smooth Outros that are warm, endearing and heart felt. Makes a feller feel appreciated and wanting even more to continue watching the next one. I continue to wish you the very best and appreciate the extra hard work it takes to bring us along. God bless. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
Appreciate the support
Mike, I gotta love your positive attitude, nothing seems to get you down !! 😁 👍
Thanks!
Hey Mike, another Tip for when you get around to painting using tractor enamel paints. Add some Hardener to the paint which will aid in faster drying and a harder move durable surface. I've done this on all my machines as well as trailers and Snow plows. Not adding hardener or strait from the can the paint fades much faster, IMHO.
Hey Mike, as I always say, 'Good Job'.
Maaaan, i felt what you were thinking when i heard PSSSST and saw the fog at the end. Never fails, as soon as you feeling good and proud of an accomplishment old equiptment will gut punch you lol
Wow Mike! Awesome! It works. What a game changer for you! And of course rite at the end a hose just had to blow! Now that blows! At least it did it at home. Have a great week
From a dream to accomplishment, Dude, you got Thee best attitude and fortitude I've seen to tackle this project! And truly stay positive thru the process!
A job that was enjoyed by your KEEPING IT REAL approach on the 555.
I swear, each time the 555 idles down, I think the engine is gonna die. good job, Captain.
Tip Mike always weld like your frosting a cake for differant kinds of layers. Easy peasy bro!!!!!1👉👉Mike you could harden the pins in a well forced air fire pit using a leaf blower and pipe (LIKE DP Dose burneing wood piles) than dip it in use motor oil when it's glowing bright red or low yellow hot. Still happy for ya bud.
Good work. Practice is paying off ,Mon Capitaine, making lots of sparkles !
My dog Beau loves chasing those critters. He can't catch them but he tries like heck. It's pretty funny.
love the drive, determination and the positive attitude even when things don't always go the way you want it to. KUDOS Mr. Kleeman!
You’re like a modern day MacGyver👌🏼🇺🇸👍🏼
Mike, the old farmers welds are looking good and match up to what it is. Wouldn't want to make it too fancy for what your are using it for. Keep up the great videos.
She’s gettin there! 👌🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
"When in doubt, cut it out". 😁 Great progress Mike. 👍👍
I hope you got all those shards of iron up. Because I counted about 15 flats tires worth. Great job on the quick attach fabrication btw.
Maybe ask the tyre shop if they can put some liquid ballast in the front tyres for you Mike, We did that with those on our hire fleet that needed to be run without the front bucket fitted, and they drove better with ballast than without, still a tad sketchy but that is what life is about at times. Also I think that the Kleenam 'Backhoe should be painted all black, just remember where you parked it or you lose it, but it looks like a 'Dark Ops' machine in black. If locals see your workmanship you will be asked to repair, bodge and fix all stuff. So keep your work in the dark so to speak. As a retired engineer who has trained many people to become engineers you have really come on fast and good since the 555 arrived, somehow your attitude changed and your welding has come really good in a short time and do not listen to those who tell you different. The 555 is a lot different than when Clinton dropped it off and for the good. Stay safe and well out there. Regards to the family and the what is it two dogs.
I think your best bet is to weld a wheel on the backhoe, so when you pull wheelies your bucket won't drag on the ground. If you are really creative, install a steering mechanism so you have 3-point steering...LOL. Great work, now you are ready..almost to get some work done. Take care, and be safe.
🤣🤣
Great job welding Captain Kleeman
Mike : it’s a pleasure and very enjoyable experience watching your channel, your a talented young man, and your quick attach plate really turned out great, good job Mike👍👍👍 but seems like we always have a snag , when the hose blew , oh well the day still was positive, have a great day Mike, love you channel ❤
Great fabrication skills Captain. You're getting better on each project.
Thanks 👍
Grear job Mike, looks good brother! Thanks for sharing, Kirk from Louisiana! Good luck changing the hose my friend! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
From this side of the camera it looks like a PRO job to me. Well done.
Love the videos Bubba, fill the front tires with water. And that will help you with the counterbalance
Functional oh, yeah, might want to put a porta band in your tool arsenal one day good job K😊
Super impressed your 'measure twice, cut 4 times' all worked out in the end. Maybe a little more front end weight when you have the empty forks on!
Getting it all shiny with a coat of oil at the end is just how my Dad said they used to get the steam engines shiny when he worked for CP Rail back in the 50’s.
I don’t think they got them oiled as fast as you did but the end result is the same.
Love your video's grasshopper, love your determination to get er down.
👍 You're in attachment heaven now!
Awesome job Michael. You're coping well with all the curve balls being thrown at you.
Keep up the great work mate. 👍😁
Job finished celebration salute from the 555!
💪
It all takes time. But you make it work with tools and skill. 👍👍👍
Great improvement on the backhoe’s capabilities, Mike! Well done!
Thanks 👍
Extra thumbs up for drilling into round stock.
💪
Now lets really go crazy! Take the rear wheels of the Subaru/Ranger, put on quick attach plates, then you can drive the Subaru to pull the 555 with. That should really get some UA-cam views. LOL
🤣
You never cease to amaze me with what you can do and with what you have to work with. I felt your happiness when you moved the petrol station and laughed so hard when the hose blew i had tears in my eyes, thanks!!!! Keep Smiling and keep making great content.
Your innovation has paid off it works! Now let's do everything that you're gonna be doing with the new forks. Thank you for sharing!
malgré tes maleurs tu es quand meme un champion !!!!!!!!
Awesome job man. It’s a work in progress one step at a time.
Well done just out of your head no computer Well done
Finding somewhere to add another hundredweight (give or take a few pounds) counterbalance to the front end might be a consideration Mike
Might even build something to slide on the forks for that. Looks good enough for quick change but a little light without load with the forks on.
Great job Mike, something to think about as well, get a camera installed on the front grill you just fitted, this will help you see (through a screen in the cab) where your forks are. It will greatly improve lifting pallets or IBC totes in the future.
I can see the forks fairly well actually. Pretty surprised
Good job love watching your channel cheers Jill Australia 🇦🇺 🐨
Thanks so much!
I thought it was going to be a little too wide. I’d have them mill more then you think you need. The loader arms flex side to side a lot. I like your determination and always getting the job done with what you got. Now I’ve seen it done I really wanna put a quick attach on mine!
Are you gonna be makin' the backhoe quick tachs on the regular now? I could use one on the the 'ole 310. That's the bees knees I tell ya!!!
She has to run some pretty serious trials before being available for market.
