My many experiences at Port Aventura over the years have become worse and worse with this year being the last straw. You can't choose your seat on ANY of the coasters, literally queued for 2 hours for Furius Baco and asked to step aside and wait for the front row on the next train and they started shouting at me to get on one of the middle rows... people were queue jumping left and right... the staff were pretty rude... the queues were disgusting in terms of wait times even though it wasn't even that busy... and Uncharted felt unfinished
I enjoyed it a lot but as someone who really likes coasters it didn't majorly impress. I absolutely love theming and it's one of the most important elements of a park and I love universal and Disney for it. But I also get nostalgia from those two. I think the reason efteling wasn't quite awesome is because I didn't grow up with it. It's an absolutely beautiful park but I feel like it's missing having 1 top tier amazing attraction. De Vliegende Hollander ended up being my favorite ride because the theme was so cool. I loved that lost at sea potion where you're surrounded by fog and only have your lantern lighting the way. Overall though most of the attractions felt good but slightly mid tier. Again, theming was great but with at least 1 true destination coaster this park would be so much more appealing. I greatly enjoyed my day at this park but I didn't feel like I left with any super awesome memories like I hade on, Kondaa, untamed, or rth. Toverland suffered the same fate but efteling was still better. Toverland is in the same situation though, they just need one destination coaster that will make it an amazing park. Also, phantasialand is my favorite park in the world due to amazing theming and two world class coasters.

Great ranking, i completly agree. The only Park i would rank a bit higher is Erlebnispark Tripsdrill. It is a great park with unique atmosphere and good rides, but what stands out for me is what you get for your money. Less then 40€ for a themepark like this is a good price, but adding free parking and free entry for their Wildpark incl transportation is one of the best deals of any themepark i have visited. I know, this might not be a criteria for this ranking and its totally understandable, but i think it is worth mentioning.
Great video! It's great that new parks you visited this year like Parc Asterix and Liseburg placed as high as they did compared to last year's parks. I liked hearing your analysis of all the parks. I enjoyed watching! I'm looking forward to your next video!
In 2024 you should visit the uk for theme parks, we have some of the most unique rides in the world and since you love phantasialand, you'll love alton towers which is similar but larger, there's also: Paulton park, Chessington world of adventures, Thorpe Park, Drayton Manor and Blackpool Pleasure Beach

I went to Parc Asterix halfway August but surprisingly it was incredibly overcrowded to the point my party was already done after one ride of just Toutatis. Was shame wish we could have done more
It's good to see my home park at number 2 :) mostly agree with your list, though for me Phantasialand is number 2 and Europa Park number 1. I feel that Europa Park manages crowds much better, in Phantasialand we still had to wait like 45+ minutes for Taron, whereas the lines in EP were 30 minutes tops. And in terms of atmosphere I just found Europa Park a nicer place to be. Oh and btw, Port Aventura is looking for a new owner, so that might just be the best theme park related news I heard in quite a while.
I did an Europe trip in August and did 10 parks. After the trip I ranked them this way. 1. Phantasialand-place is incredible. They have some of the best experiences you will find at a park. 2. Parc Asterix. I didn’t get to spend that long here but with the ride lineup and operations I was impressed. 3. Europa Park. I thought it did somethings better than Disney. I enjoyed their pirates ride more but their haunted Manson wasn’t close. I also like their big 3 a little more than you I think. Operationally they were an A+ 4. Efteling. The coaster line up leaves something to be desired less joris but everything else was very well done. Was originally going to spend a half day here but got talked into a full day and was really glad I made the switch 5. Walibi Holland. Outstanding top 3. And the operations were better than the sister park. 6. Plopsaland. I’m in the sane boat as you. Ride to happiness is my overall #1. Much better overall than sister park I went to. 7. Toverland really a great themed park. Troy needs a little retracking. I skis visited on a busier day so crowds were a little bit bigger. Ops were a touch slower here. 8. Tripsdrill beautiful park. Did a half day. More Vekoma suspended coasters need to be built. They gave a ton of room in that park to expend. Once the coaster collection expands I would shoot this up the rankings. 9. Walibi Belgium. Park needs a number 2 coaster. Operations were slow overall. Especially at Kondaa. Groupers were all over the place. Also had weather issues. 10. Holiday park. Felt more like a party in that center section. Love GeForce has its own radio station.
I don't accept your comment on Tripsdrill ! I've never been here yet but I discovered the park on UA-cam when the biggest coaster in the line up was Mammuth, I made the same comment for myself at that time and now, it has more than the minimum required to bring people from a longer distance like me (from Switzerland) I agree one or two more coasters would be awesome but I find quantity point of view unfair ;)
@@vladimirmosimann3807 Look at the other parks I went to on the trip. CoasterDash would have ranked it 9th, I ranked it 8th. Tripsdrill has less coasters than pretty much all of the parks on the trip other than Holiday Park . And you haven't been to the park so you really can't comment tbh.
After 2 trips in Europe, what are your thoughts on a coaster tour in Europe vs in the US ? Costs in global, tips/tricks on things to spend money on, etc. ?
No country can compare to America’s coaster lineup, but Europe’s is also fantastic and getting better each year. I think it really depends on where you live, as the initial flight to get to said destination tends to be one of the biggest expenses by far. A Europe trip will most likely turn out to be cheaper overall. You can use public transportation and hostels rather than expensive rental vehicles and hotels which are practically mandatory for any coaster trip in America.
Awesome video series, you are slowly becoming my favourite theme park content creator on UA-cam. And obviously I like that my home park has the Nr. 1 spot. :)
I also have phantasialand as my no.1. But I think that it isn't perfect. I'd LOVE to see an intamin multi dimensional coaster with the great phantasialand theming replacing Crazy Bats. Then it would be a *perfect* park
We are just finishing off our European road trip (we're from the UK) & we did Europapark, Holidaypark, Phantasialand & Plopsaland. I think with Voltron Europa now pips Phantasia. But only just. Both incredible.
Damn out of all of these on the list the only ones I’ve visited r walibi Holland and Efteling but I can say the Efteling is my favourite theme park that I have visited
You should return to Efteling next year when Danse Macabre opens. A replacement for Spookslot but also keeping the theme of the old Spookslot. I won’t go into extra details, I don’t want to spoiler to much. Also make sure to check Villa Volta when returning to Efteling, its one of the best madhouse attractions on earth (for as far as I know)
I love watching EVERY video by you! I would call me lucky having Phantasialand just one hour away from my house and visiting it very often. I am also currently in Poland and am about to have two days at Energylandia and one at Legendia. Keep up the great work!
For such obvious reasons, Plopsaland de Panne. Not only is the Ride to Happiness made for coaster enthusiasts, but lovers of EDM and electronic music as well🇧🇪 👍🏻 And Bakkan for Tornado of course😆 A future trip to Italy and Ireland sounds pretty awesome🇮🇹🇨🇮 Having had a chance to visit both of those countries, I honestly don’t know much about the theme parks offered, but I’m sure that content will be great when the time comes😊
Moviepark Germany is in my heart the most. I have been there countless times (nearly every weekend in the '22 season) and for the '23 season i started working there as a ride operator because who doesnt want to operate a coaster once :D so it grew on me even more. Older attractions like Van Helsings Factory are so special and made with so much love, it might not be an 'elite' park but it is a unique and special park. It gets overshadowed by its neighbour with Taron and F.L.Y tho
I think Phantasialand lacks a truly excellent dark ride to be considered a world-class park. Also the kiddie part with the boat ride was quite sad when I visited the park this year. The Waterguns and effects all didnt work. The top 3 coasters and especially the mine train (how can a padding be this hard 😅) are phenomenal but besides that i was a bit dissapointed expecting a "best park".
For me there is one thing Phantasialand does wrong: Opening the rides later than general opening of the park...and closing the queues earlier. Last time I was there they even removed one train on Colorado Adventure linke 20 minutes before closing. So we lost some valuable time at the end to get in 1-2 more rides. That's what I like the most at Europa-Park, compared to many other parks: If you buy a ticket for a whole day with opening times from 9 to 18, you get the full day! You can jump on the first train at 9.00 and enter the last line at 17:59:59. Plus they almost always run on high capacity and rarely remove a train again after they added one. Together with a ton non-coaster attractions I think they have by far the best price-performance ration. If only they would have some more real thrill rides...hopefully Voltron changes that.
I’ve been to Europa-Park last month. I booked a place at EuroMir’s virtual line for 20:20 and they didn’t let me ride it (the park was closing at 20:30). Also, Silver Star queue was closing long before the park closing time… The thing that I really like about Europa-Park is that when the park is too crowded, they extend the opening hours.
She had to take the FlipFlops with her in case of evacuation. I saw it too, that guest where not alowed to ride Shambala barefeet, they made them sit on them.
I go to PortAventura every year but because of my first experience there I REFUSE to go at anytime but midweek at the end of the season from then on. Any other day is just going to make you miserable because of the horrible operations. I waited 4 hours for Red Force the first time, and they really try to squeeze 1 hour lines even on days that are not busy just to make you buy one of their expensive fast passes. Positive point though: The park is super cheap when staying at their hotels for what you are getting. Somehow 2 days plus Hotel are cheaper than one day at Europa Park?
Very good list Marc, defently need to go to Asterix again last time is was there was in 2020 with the old Woody and it didn't have that new coaster so for now its a bit further down the list for me. Pretty sure it will be in my top 5 after the next visit. I only have Trippsthrill a couple of places higher i just love the atmospehre of that park and i have liseberg quite a bit lower, Baldur was closed and i was pretty sick the night before i visited and it rained quite heavely the other time so that anothe park that will probable move up when i visited it in normale cirumstances. It probable won't reach as high as yours but then i don't get the VIP treathment (so jealouse). I will have to say you hit the marks with porto ventura and Djors summerland couldn't describe it better myself and completly agree and i'm very happy that you appriciate the efteling for what it is. I just hope they gonna build at least one good coaster someday as its me homepark. As for my top 5: 1 Phantasialand 2 Efteling 3 Europapark 4 Energylandia 5 Miribilandia (But there are bout 6 parks that could easily change place to that spot. Non of them are port adventura i m not sure its in my top 20 and it has everything i love in a good themepark but just after 2 days i was so tired of the parks policies i decided not even to cash in my thirth day free ticket).
I‘ve been to 11 parks in Europe and the very first I went to (back in 1985) is still my number 1 (as its evolution during the past 20 years has been beyond impressive) - and it‘s also your number 1. 🤗 Also, while I like the park a lot (and it‘s the closest to where I live), I agree with everything you said about your number 5 (I‘ll just add that the frequent product placement [and also the branded clothing stores inside the park] destroys a lot of their capability to be immersive).
Awww Thank for you for saying those nice words about us danes 🙈🥰 its funny because normally we have a reputation of being a bit reserved and hard to get to know.
Hello I went to portAventura ( a few times) and I like it personally I think it is a good park but yes the fast track is not good apart form that i think it is a good park.
We need a giga chad emoji. Also, awesome to hear you call Kållerado one of Europe's best rapids, despite you and Jesiah having a miserable time on it lmao
I've been to Energylandia on January 8th this year and what a disapointing experience it was! Out of all rollercoasters, only 3 were working and a 4rd one started working thoughout the day. I saw them doing some work on it and then testing it, with people riding it every 5 minutes - didn't feel confident at all. It's not clear at all what's working and what's not on their website so I felt like being scammed. No excuses about the winter. They ought to make it clear to guests what's available and if weather doesn't permit just close the park for good just like the great majority do. Front part of the park is completely disconnected from the back and employess don't show much sense of responsability, allowing people to do nearly whatever they want. There are lots of boring attactions and riding the same attractions over and over all day long day felt like a waste of time and money. You couldn't even visit the whole park because they blocked some passages. With the park being so limited, why not open the new area giving guests actually something to do? It's sad but I had much higher expectations. I can't see myself visiting, nor would I recommend this park any time soon, until I am convinced that the attractions will be available, that the staff will be more responsible, and that they will work on general improvements that make me feel comfortable about the price and with what I have to deal to visit the park. Continuing with outdated attractions and keep adding roller coasters simply to boast the title of the park with the most in the world doesn't work, especially with 2 identical roller coasters, a bunch of roller coasters that a 9 year old would die of boredom, one that can be found all over the world and finally keep them almost all closed with the convenient justification that it is winter.
You NEED to go to the UK. visit Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Blackpool Pleasure beach. You should also visit Chessington. We have the worlds biggest Legoland. You can miss Drayton Manor, Flamingo land, Gulliver's world, Oakwood and Paulton's Park. But the 3 or 4 I said at the start are go toos. Alton towers has the smiler. The most inverting coaster in the world and also at alton, all of the main rollercoasters have either broke records or been first in Europe or ethen the world (take that cedar point). Thorpe and Alton have amazing coasters and I have no idea how Blackpool fit Icon in. Chessington is a bit like Animal Kingdom. Hope to see you come soon (ideally after Nemesis has it's re-track finished and Hyperia opens) this is copy and pasted from my comment on an older video btw
It’s tough to say. It’s about on par, if not slightly better than the version at Magic Kingdom. Disneyland’s 15 minute iteration is far and away superior though. And Shanghai’s looks like it would destroy Piraten in Batavia. I’m unsure how Paris’s would stack up.
As spaniard, I prefer Warner Bros than Portaventura. Portaventura food is really expensive and with a subpar quality. Rides are great, but some of them like Dragon Khan or Furious Baco are a bit painful and would need polish. Theming is not bad, but in some areas like China, you can see it's a bit deteriorated. Ride operations are the worst of any park I've been to, they are not good, and clearly some of them feel like it's to make you buy the fastpass. Some of the employees are really nice with the customers, but I've seen some of them openly complaining how bad they are treated. Maybe the situation in the video about the lady's flip flops was due to the extreme policies being forced on employees. In the visit I had some days ago, a woman lied to us about the need of having to rent a locker because dragon khan didnt have any place to store them. Luckily we saw other people with bags and didnt do that. And indeed, dragon khan has a place to store your personal belongs... For me warner may not have such intense rides or novelties (exceptuating the new batman ride), but food is a bit cheaper and overall experience seems nicer and less capitalistic.
Ngl i was disappointed my country didn’t appear for the first part at all and then it just appeared 3 times in this video (Note for if a dutchy sees this comment Ik ben nog nooit in walibi holand geweest is het leuk)
PortAventura is one of the worst parks ever been! Poorly maintained, bad and rough rides, bad operations and Shambhala was closed! You also received no compensation for this. As a Dutch person, I am used to the customer being number one. Last week I was in Walibi Holland and all rides were closed 3 hours earlier because it was too cold and we got a free ticket for a next visit. When Untamed is closed you also get much discount, but PortAventura didn’t give you anyting, only a scandalously bad rest of the park for the price. (More expensive than Phantasialand!!!)
Putting phantasialand on 1 is a crime , i went there and it was the worst theme park ever , no line wash shorter then 60 minutes , even the chair o plane was 50 minutes …. Efteling is 1000 times better…
Edit: Taron at Phantasialand is located in the “Klugheim” section of the park. Not “Rookburgh” which is stated at 21:37

i went to portaventura in august but operations were pretty decent and policies were mostly good and the park itself is elite
Landscaping and rides are very good. Operations, maintenance and guest service should be improved.
Operationally they were an A+
4. Efteling. The coaster line up leaves something to be desired less joris but everything else was very well done. Was originally going to spend a half day here but got talked into a full day and was really glad I made the switch
11:55: agree, I’ve traveled to many places but Danish people are always a good time
After 2 trips in Europe, what are your thoughts on a coaster tour in Europe vs in the US ? Costs in global, tips/tricks on things to spend money on, etc. ?
No country can compare to America’s coaster lineup, but Europe’s is also fantastic and getting better each year. I think it really
depends on where you live, as the initial flight to get to said destination tends to be one of the biggest expenses by far.
1 spot. :)
After listening to everyone’s feedback on PortAventura, I decided to book Phantasialand this October instead of PortAventura for the 2nd time.
Phantasialand is my favorite park worldwide. It doesn't dissapoint.
I’m going to phantasialand this October in a few weeks, can’t wait for taron and fly! Great video mate.!
It's a pretty solid ranking as well!
It'll help me organize my park trips in 2024.
Thank you 😉
Have a great time!
This is gonna be great
You’re so lucky! I plan on taking my husband and our son to Europe for a coaster tour in the next couple of years.
Hope this video helps :)
10:31 They’re getting sold for 1b dollars!
Nice to see efteling on the second spot, its my homepark 👏🎢
For such obvious reasons, Plopsaland de Panne. Not only is the Ride to Happiness made for coaster enthusiasts, but lovers of EDM and electronic music as well🇧🇪 👍🏻 And Bakkan for Tornado of course😆 A future trip to Italy and Ireland sounds pretty awesome🇮🇹🇨🇮 Having had a chance to visit both of those countries, I honestly don’t know much about the theme parks offered, but I’m sure that content will be great when the time comes😊
Thanks for watching!

Yeeeah! Me beloved Phantasialand is on the top. Is my favorite themepark I ever visited
But this isn't phantasialands fault they have to do it because of the people living next to the park...
I’ve been to Europa-Park last month. I booked a place at EuroMir’s virtual line for 20:20 and they didn’t let me ride it (the park was closing at 20:30).
Also, Silver Star queue was closing long before the park closing time…
The thing that I really like about Europa-Park is that when the park is too crowded, they extend the opening hours.
2:20 oh yeah.... being a feller rules...
I live like 20 minutes away from Phantasialand and i prefer the 6 hour drive to Europapark over going to Phantasialand.
She had to take the FlipFlops with her in case of evacuation. I saw it too, that guest where not alowed to ride Shambala barefeet, they made them sit on them.
Wtf 😅
I go to PortAventura every year but because of my first experience there I REFUSE to go at anytime but midweek at the end of the season from then on. Any other day is just going to make you miserable because of the horrible operations. I waited 4 hours for Red Force the first time, and they really try to squeeze 1 hour lines even on days that are not busy just to make you buy one of their expensive fast passes.
Positive point though: The park is super cheap when staying at their hotels for what you are getting. Somehow 2 days plus Hotel are cheaper than one day at Europa Park?
I had good luck when I was in portadventura last month And I only had to wait in line for a maximum of 15 minutes👍
As for my top 5:
1 Phantasialand
2 Efteling
3 Europapark
4 Energylandia
5 Miribilandia (But there are bout 6 parks that could easily change place to that spot.
Also, while I like the park a lot (and it‘s the closest to where I live), I agree with everything you said about your number 5 (I‘ll just add that the frequent product placement [and also the branded clothing stores inside the park] destroys a lot of their capability to be immersive).
Phantasialand ❤️❤️
One thing that's wrong in Efteling is the price of the food. The price is just insane of some things. For example some water can cost 5 euro.
Hot takes Merlin entertainment should buy PortAventura
If you were to rank your experience at rheinkirmes on the list where would it be?
Probably top 10-15. The rides were crazy!
No way is Energylandia infront of Europa Park
I am proud of my home park.... A solid number one
I must visit Europe for roller coasters!
We need a giga chad emoji.
Also, awesome to hear you call Kållerado one of Europe's best rapids, despite you and Jesiah having a miserable time on it lmao
i have been to efteling and phantasialand and there both amazing i do think that the park atmosphere is beter in efteling
Thank you for appreciating Phantasialand♥️
as a Dutch
i'm proud of your placement of Efteling
Tripsdrill needs to receive a rank increase bonus. They have boobies there!
Amazing Video but the Highlander at Hansa Park is actually the highest gyro Drop Tower in the World.
Imagine how perfect port aventura would be if universal bought it
I've been to Energylandia on January 8th this year and what a disapointing experience it was!
You always say youre so fortunate to be able to visit all these parks, and I get that, but HOW? Like where does the money for this come from?
Batavia isbetter then its disney counterpart... change my mind
Let's hope Portaventura gets bought by Universal
leave it to the spaniards to be dastardly...
Ngl i was disappointed my country didn’t appear for the first part at all and then it just appeared 3 times in this video
(Note for if a dutchy sees this comment
Efteling is 1000 times better…
so America is GOING TO SEND All OF THEIR MONEY TO EUROPE?
not smart
Fly was good but doesn’t compare to Tatsu.
Unpopulair opinion: phantsialand is overrated
