    Thanks for always keeping it real.. things to do , places to eat, stay and the costs.. 👍🏼, stay true to yourselves, your producing vlogs that we want to see, I have unfollowed all those other ‘fighterboys’ that you reference sometimes because what they are delivering is not interesting anymore..they bring in political and other government views when they are guests in the country, keep it going guys .. great job , stay safe

      Because many tourists don't really do research about things to do just around the city. You really don't need to go out hundreds of kilometers from the city just to go island hopping or nature tripping. The Mactan island groups have lots of things to do especially when doing island hopping. It is also the site of two huge protected natural reserves like the Olango Bird's Sanctuary and Nalusuan Marine Sanctuary. Most island hopping rates around Mactan islands are almost uniform. The rate they availed in their island hopping is cheap because only two islands were included. But most island hopping in Mactan always include 3 islands of your choice if you don't like their choices and it costs P2,500 for up to 10 people. The rate may go up depending on the capacity of the boat. Some bigger boats charge P3,500 that can take up to 25 people on board. The boats are often very spacious for the designed capacity you can even do some partying on board.

We plan to retire early and wander the Bisayas for a while before we build a home and settle down. Thanks for the content, we will surely visit some of these places when we return ear for vacation. One piece of advice to everyone. When being offered anything, ask the price first before you even touch it. Don't ever take anything for granted. Unless you'd like to find out the hard way.

      Cebu has more things to see and do than anywhere else in the Philippines you'll regret it when you miss them. It has a well-connected transport system so getting around the whole province between big cities and countryside is cheap and fast, thus you avoid spending too much money and precious time just to get between attractions. Cebu has hundreds of turquoise blue waterfalls, turquoise blue cold springs just along the highway, scenic mountain and coastal passes, world-class snorkeling and diving sites almost anywhere in the islands, lots of marine sanctuaries, adventure parks and botanical gardens close to the city, world-class zoological parks, oceanarium, theme park, water parks, white-sand beaches just a few hours from the city. Don't just see Cebu as a city. Cebu City is just a very small area of Cebu province where natural attractions draw millions of foreign tourists every year.

      Home is southern Leyte, Tigbao, Libagon, I am not one for visiting where all tourists go, I enjoy the people of the Philippines, and yes I like to travel, especially road trips... I'm South African, and prefer the roads not often traveled,, Figure of speech.

    I am not a white guy myself but Olango people really treated me very nicely when we went there several times in the past. I also noticed that most Olango inhabitants are much taller and stockier in built on average than people in Cebu mainland.

    The Olango Channel really has a very strong current because it is so narrow especially when the tide is ebbing. Your swimming skill won't work to fight against the ebbing flow of water in Olango Channel.

    The islands in Mactan is the number 1 tourist destinations before here in Cebu maybe in the 80's and 90's this was before Moalboal and Boracay boomed!

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 4 роки тому

      It is still one of the most visited destinations in the country. Last year alone, Mactan island drew about 1.2 million foreign tourists while Cebu City drew about 1.4 million and the rest of Cebu Province drew almost a million. Boracay only drew about 1 million foreign tourists in 2019. All in all, Cebu still remains the country's most visited destination with 3.5 million foreign tourists plus 3.2 million domestic tourists or a total of 5.7 million tourists.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 4 роки тому

      Olango island is just across the channel from Mactan island where the airport is. Olango can be accessed through two main public boat passenger ports: Hilton Port in Punta Engano (next to Movenpick Hotel), Angasil Port in Maktan (near Mactan Newtown). For island hopping tours, there are several starting points where you can go to: Hilton Port, Angasil Port, Maribago Pump Boat Wharf (next to JPark Resort), Marigondon Port (next to Plantation Bay Mactan) and Cordova Roro Port in Cordova town, the southernmost part of Mactan Island. Your hotel staff can help you or you can Google island hopping tours in Mactan and it's very easy.

  • @NindoRuiz
    @NindoRuiz 4 роки тому

    Just reminder, Olango a sort of a tourist place most people working as island tour company staff. It should be wise regarding there offer like the sea urchin thats unbelievable overprice. You can pickup that anywhere just learn how to clean inside of the urchin and that would be a unlimitted free guys 😉.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 4 роки тому

      In all my island hopping tours (about 4 times already) in the past in Mactan, there were always people hawking their seafood catch and even some souvenir items aboard their own small boat. They always approach anchored boats to offer their goods. They offered their goods at a price they think you can afford. But if you decline politely and in a friendly manner, they would just leave without any drama.

    Cody/Izai I would recommend you buy your own snorkel equipment. I went on a 4 day island hopping in North Maluku Indonesia and I had to borrow equipment. This was a pain bc every time I had to readjust the mask and snorkel. So I am buying snorkel equipment and leaving with friend in Bali. I always use Bali as my operating base on trips, that way I can travel lighter on short trips. I may buy a separate set of snorkel equipment and leave in PI. I like the music and shots in this video. Much Love

    P100 for 3 young coconut (buko) here in Las Piñas market. It should be much cheaper there due to the present crisis with very minimal tourist if none at all.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 4 роки тому

      I think this video was taken a few days before the ECQ started in Cebu. Las Pinas is not a touristy city so you won't find such pricey goods in certain areas. Cebu is the most visited destination in the country with almost half of foreign tourists went to Cebu in 2019. And most touristy places where tourists are most abundant (e.g. Mactan, Moalboal, Oslob, etc.), you can always find enterprising vendors who offer their goods at exorbitant rate that if you don't know how to deal with it, you'll end up in the losing end. So being a tourist, you always be aware of these people. It happens anywhere in the world.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 4 роки тому

      Yes, it is the same wherever you go to any touristy places around the world, be it in Greece, Italy, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. They know that tourists travel for leisure. When you travel for leisure to a foreign country, they expect you can afford to splurge on anything you fancy. That's how tourism works everywhere. Just be wise in dealing with them. Your smile and friendly attitude can always soften their hearts and even just give it for free. I did it already in my several trips here and abroad.:-)

    Just don't buy if it is not necessary or just go away. Then they will bargain with you to the lowest prize because they are the ones in need of money. You are paying the price of your ignorance and if you buy you tolerate their misconduct.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 4 роки тому

      The key is be wise in a friendly and polite manner. A smile can always disarm one's aggressiveness. Be polite and friendly when refusing their offers if you have no intention to buy it. If you want the item that they offer but want a lower price, engage them with a small talk and smile until you get their feeling of empathy. I did it several times in my travels here and abroad and it worked 100% all the time. A friendly demeanor and a bright smile never fail to win other people's hearts.

    Yeah, the reason why some people are like that is because of poverty. All countries are not perfect. Even the Philippines who is known for its people there are still some rotten eggs right here so you must be careful as always.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 4 роки тому

      It happens wherever you travel in the world. That kind of small hawkers can be found in many touristy places around the world like in Greece, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, France, China, Taiwan, etc. Though they are so few, not rampant. If they were, then no more tourists would visit the place. But as you can see, Cebu is still the most visited destination in the country. Italy, France and Spain still remains the most visited countries in the world. So hawkers like them are normal part of the tourism industry. Just be on guard and know how to deal with them.
