- This is an old TV special featuring Van Halen with Sammy Hagar from I believe 1993. They seem to be promoting the Live: Right Here, Right Now album/tour. Quality is what it is coming from an old VHS tape.

Alex, what a terrific drummer as good as Eddie on guitar !!!,
I agree, very underrated
He is an incredible drummer and for sure what Eddie plays off of but he isn’t as creative writing wise obviously drums don’t flesh out the tune the same way an instrument like guitar or piano can …just saying.
Van Halen were one of the few past bands still going strong in 1993. They were a jackhammer, grunge couldn’t stop them.
From 91-95/96 they were huge!
They had 2 peaks with 2 different singers!
Amazing!
In some guitar magazine interviews , Edward said his music is grungy music .
Man , I miss this band. Life will never be the same
We will never have times like this again.
Damn Eddie puts his spin on another classic ! He absolutely nails the vibe and feel of the WHO no keyboards needed Ed does it all ❤
Yeah, they missed me too, love the fun they have,5150 was their home❤
The Who's cover Is excellent and the Sammy's scream at the end is fantastic.
It's May 2024.
In October this year, Alex Van Halen's book drops. I'll buy it immediately!
That said, a book from Michael Anthony would be so awesome! And a new modern DLR pertaining to VH (not solo stuff) book would be awesome as well.
Van Halen for life!
Just wonderful. 5150 2024❤ I wanna see Alex Wolfie Sammy and Michael rock and roll that great music for the crossroads and the universe . Not for money but for Eddie and the young people to experience Van Halen. Just an idea, special guests like Vai, satch, Eric Johnson, Michael sweet etc.
Money could be for cancer patients and children's hospital

This needs to be released
Amazed at what passed for watchable TV resolution back in the day
It looked nothing like this you noob, this is third or fourth gen and the image ratio is screwed.
Pound cake has to be one of there best rocking songs, so good
One of my favorite parts is at 24:30 where they start playing a country riff and EVH just kills the solo. So versatile.
There was a time Sammy said he wouldn't sing "Jump".
Fuck I miss these dudes, best band ever.
There were slight Jabs here and there in this between Ed and Sam. Hey ed have an orange, no im good have a smoke?
This was my pre State Of The Union entertainment. Nice to see everyone in good humor & loved The Who 🇬🇧 cover. Long Live Rock 🎸
#FJB if you are better off today than you were 4 years ago you are probably are an illegal alien 😅
They all seemed so happy and getting along, what the hell happened to break this up? Incredible songs on 5150, OU812, and Poundcake!
In Sam's book of lies he blamed jealousy of his success in tequila and Cabo Wabo . In my opinion , he said something or tried to do something with Ed that really pissed off Ed . Ed never talked publicly about it because it's none of your business . When the band with Gary did a VH3 promotion issue of THE INSIDE MAGAZINE ; Al ,Ed , AND Mike said Sam quit . He even told one of the Inside Magazine reporters he didn't want to do the greatest hits album that Warner Brothers DEMANDED . Sam was never fired . Sam had a choice of doing the greatest hits album or quit the band .
Sammy also mentioned their new manager (at that time) drove a spike between Ed and Sammy to try and steer the band and it backfired. Sammy said the manager would go to Ed and say, "why do you let Sam make the decisions?" " you're the main song writer and it's your name on the albums?" And the seed was planted. There obviously other stuff clouding judgement, but that was the start. New manager making enemies of friends for a means to an end.
@@yourdrummer2034 Sammy is full of 💩 . Ed explained it in a guitar magazine interview . The manager watched Sammy acting bossy towards Ed . In one of the UA-cam videos compilations of the band is Captain Candyass himself saying " This is MY band " while you see him walking backstage at some stadium . In another clip you can clearly hear Sam say " Leader of the band , lead singer of the band , what's the difference ? " . Just because Sam wrote some of many lies in a book doesn't make it the truth . Sam also said the band made more money than with Dave even though the band sold more albums with Dave singing . The band's first album and the 1984 album together sold more than all the Van Hagar albums COMBINED . Wait til Al releases HIS book .
Their manager Ed Leffler passed away. The new manager, and Alex's brother in law, Ray Danniels fucked it all up.
@@chdori117 Again , you're just parroting whatever Captain Candyass lied about in his book .
Sammy gets goosebumps when he has goosebumps 😂
