I'ma fan of all three Yardbird guitar players. Here's the thing, they are all different. Clapton is a master of the blues, Beck the fusion player, Page more rock and roll. I saw Clapton and Beck separately a few times not a sufficient sample. Jeff is an acquired taste, Clapton and Page are more mainstream. All three fit way up the list, we were blessed to have been able to enjoy or critique all three.

I didn't hear this particular song before cause I was taking care of a 5-year-old. Not much time to listen to music. I'm making up for it though. I've been listening to Eric Clapton on UA-cam for about 3 months now and he makes me feel alive and that it's worth the effort. Thank you HotRockinJohnny.
If you like this. Check out his performance on Roger Waters first solo album, the Pro and Cons of Hitchiking. The same sound, incredible acoustic slide playing on there too. Sexual Revolution is incredible. My favourite incarnation of Clapton, and he has this tone !
I've seen Eric many many times and it makes me wanna say its around the Just One Night late70 s/ early 80's era. The tone that's super Straty pre lace sensor pickup. I saw Eric do this one in 1978 and it was flipping off the charts. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing, blew me away. The Fabulous Thunderbirds opened up that night. Erics the best when it comes to this type of blues in my humble opinion.

from 1975 my favourite guitarist is Eric Clapton. He's an absolute clear guitar player to me:I'm understanding every Clapton's fantasy in music life, because I like too much Clapton's rich music repertoire.
There has been some debate on when exactly this recording took place. Regardless, anyone who believes the 'myth" that Clapton was "laid back" in the 70Ss or 80s or whenever he was supposed to be, is proven dead wrong by the absolutely brilliant Clapton performances from those eras that have been brought to light via the great bootlegs that people have provided to UA-cam. This recording is just one great example. I think people got the wrong impression due to the relaxed albums he released in the 70s. But those who saw him live know the truth.

@Talkin Bout Nawlins First off, if a misspell is your first comeback your allready doomed for dissaster.Clapton is that guy whois been lighting up the stage for 55 years, that guy who won 6 grammies for an acoustic live album, you know that guy who is in the rock and roll hall of fame three times.I could continue the list but you cant even spell new orleans correct so it would just becomes pointless lmfao. And i didn't call him mr rock n lol, you did.No one person owns music, it continues to evolved over time.Clapton's one of the most humble musicians out there. He makes clear which (artists) and genres (blues) moved him. That's like saying the first guy who picked up the guitar was the only guy who should have and everybody was copying afterwards. If you don't like him then don't listen, but yet you still had to come her to be negative.I don't think i need to prove anymore points with you.Not sure what the teenybopper thing is about, the discussion was about music, don't sidetrack.Point blank, none of those guitarist had the full arsenal that clapton did, which is why he still sells out shows nearing 60 years.Knock it off :) And who cares how old i am, facts are facts
Eric's alter-ego "Slowhand" was unleashed that night in all his ferocious passion and power and tore the roof off of the place.
My Favorit Guitar Player. Eric Clapton 💯💯💯👏👏👏🎸🎸🎸
All three fit way up the list, we were blessed to have been able to enjoy or critique all
three.
Definitely a Religious experience whenever he plays this song.....
Clapton was at his best when he played the blues no contest
This is from Tarantura Bootleg Release "Chicago No Bad Blues"" , Hoffman Estates, Ill. July 05th, 1985 (Disc 2, track 03)
I think he and Waylon Jennings are probably my favorite guitar players. 2 different styles and genres but both bad ass
I respected Clapton. I now well respect Clapton.
Thanks for sharing this. Never heard this. ❤ this. Has always been my favorite Guitarist Eric Clapton
@9:29 he just transports us to another level. He is insanely gifted. Thanks so much for this. What a find.
Listening to this at 4 am reminds me how terrific EC is - takes me back to '65 when I watched him a load of times live with John Mayall. Smokey dives like the Flamingo club in Wardour St doing the Saturday/Sunday all nighter.
I'm just an old fart now LOL
Any chance you recorded or took pics? :)
Lucky you
:B
Chuck Voellinger Sorry Chuck - no - it's all in my head
I totally understand this. At the time you probably didn't think it was anything big because you were in the moment- just 'a night out with the mates'. Sure, Eric was good even then. But you couldn't know he was going to create such a legacy. Either way, I envy that you got to experience it, and to have those memories with you. Be well, mate.
a
Eric clapton....the one and only....in the blues!

This is the best one. Just one night doesn’t even compare
thanks so much, I have never heard this before.
OMG, just confirms why I love him so damn much. I love listening to him everyday and just can't get enough. When he plays, especially this one, it just hits my soul and I have lots of soul, LOL.
im with this one hits hard, the emotion takes me away, itd sad, but its not, ughhh just so amazing. This one does it to me too

How can you top that... world class from a Fender genius. Wish I had been there.
Simply the best

Thank You Very Much Teacher Eric
Man he sure shook the shackles off here! What a blast!
As my daughter would say “oh my goodness”, truely spectacular!
He is simply !!! ERIC CLAPTON !
OH MY!!! He is the BEST ever to step on a stage with 6 strings ... No exceptions ... None ...
So much pain, so much soul put in notes...leaves you breathless.
Oh my god. oh my god eric..
Olde blackie’s tone is like a raw nerve- damn
No wonder Jimi H. loved Clapton !
Give the man a 57/58 'V' neck strat n plenty of volume n odds on he'll produce the goods with a 48 gauge bottom 'E' etc. etc. u get my drift....mans a legend and will be long after u n i r gone..bless u eric
Wow. Much better tone & much more fiery, engaged playing than these days.
I've been alive since 1946 and I've never heard anyone play the blues better than Eric Clapton. You hear his heart in everything he does.
God blessed Eric saving his life from the poisonous jab… may he fully recover
GTFO but all that bullshit
Amazing. The version of Double Trouble on Just One Night is even better.
Agreee
Yup its the best
1) this is awesome, and 2) it sounds more like 80s than 70s Clapton. Both guitar tone and licks as well as singing.
Whiskers B thats because it is in the 80s
1985
I can hear what I feel now.....can't get enough of this guy. A true legend.
Ole Eric pulled out the switchblade that day!
Eric my guitar master forever 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Love that Fender sound.
My friends... this is THE VERSION. Definitively.❤
This is....epic. EC is on fire here. Brilliant.
i m not a big fan of clapton ..but he can play everything ,this is a master ...and this song is amazing...probably one of the best i ve ever heard
This is where all guitar licks began to show the power of the pentatonic scale, Jimi Hendrix being on the fore front of it all...
33 times!!!!!! WOW. I seen him in 1978....one and only time LOL. But I hope to see him one more time before he retires.
from 1975 my favourite guitarist is Eric Clapton. He's an absolute clear guitar player to me:I'm understanding every Clapton's fantasy in music life, because I like too much Clapton's rich music repertoire.
What a f'in fantastic player man...Eargasm!! Love from India
Il fascino di una chitarra inimitabile.
There has been some debate on when exactly this recording took place. Regardless, anyone who believes the
'myth" that Clapton was "laid back" in the 70Ss or 80s or whenever he was supposed to be, is proven dead wrong by the absolutely brilliant Clapton performances from those eras that have been brought to light via the great bootlegs that people have provided to UA-cam. This recording is just one great example. I think people got the wrong impression due to the relaxed albums he released in the 70s. But those who saw him live know the truth.
ERIC CLAPTON- DOUBLE TROUBLE LIVE, JIMMY PAGE- NO QUARTER LIVE ,JIMI HENDRIX- JOHNNY B . GOODE LIVE, DIRE STRAITS STRAITS - SULTANS OF SWING LIVE DEEP PURPLE- MISTREATED LIVE PRA MIM SÃO OS SOLOS DE GUITARRA MAIS LOUCOS QUE VI NA VIDA.
Holy moly what a gem of a performance and recording! Thanks for the upload! ❤
Badass! Didn’t think he was playing like this in ‘77
Why in the **** have I never heard this version before?!
