Well my friend, thank you for the kind comment but it is actually you that should be celebrated. As a master machinist, you can craft the metal parts using a lathe and other machinist tools. I can craft simple parts and springs but not the more complex parts. Most of the parts on Reuge music boxes are crafted by hand - just like they were in the 1800s. Yes, some parts are made using CNC machines. What really blows me away is on the early 1800s music boxes, the crafters not only made everything by hand (no power either) but they also had to make the tools and machines used to fabricate the parts. I am self-taught and I do not hold myself out to be a master machinest, toolmaker or model maker. Kind regards, Troy Duncan, CPA, retired.

I love how the mainspring made less than one full turn even after one full cycle through the songs. One full winding can give you 20+ minutes of music.

Correct. The first music boxes were sur plateau (super tiny discs) found mostly in watches and FOBS. Then, cylinder music boxes were invented and were the "only game on town" until the 1880s when Symphonion invented the disc music box. This allowed new discs to be created when new songs were composed. Then came the Gramaphone with a human voice and then LP records. As such, the music box industry basically went away.

wow! it is symphony! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
okay what does it cost and where can I buy 1
I have sold maybe six or seven of this model music box and they sell in the $5,500 to $7,000 range. Brand new - expect to easily pay over $10,000. Kind regards, Troy Duncan. www.singingbirdbox.com
+Singing bird boxes so expensive! Considering how beautifully they play and the intricate designing of these i suppose its reasonable, but I unfortunately wont ever be able to get one

But in all seriousness. Make sure this never gets lost. Humanity is not in a good place.
