So awesome to see this podcast to happen. I've been enjoyed both your other channels separately for awhile. Glad to see the twins finally come together!
I had high-hope for Vikings because the pilot and Floki started to set the stage for a more mystical fantasy setting, but the writers almost immediately abandoned that angle.
You guys are knowledgeable beyond my wildest dreams about mediaeval history and warfare, but surprisingly lacking on knowledge of heraldry. You should do a deep dive into heraldry, it is insanely interesting. One thing in particular i would note is that your coat of arms had to be recognized in most cases, for example by the College of Arms in England or the Court of Lord Lyons in Scotland. They would grant you, literally, the right to bear arms. Doing so without permission up until the 17th century was a criminal offense. The King of Arms, Herald, Officer of Arms, or Persuviant would hold Visitations where they would walk into the houses of nobles and landed gentry and determine if arms and title were being used legally. Some parts of central Europe allowed for Burgher Arms, but generally had rules as to what they were and were not allowed to depict

Yo Aidan, I am from Germany... nothing different here. Never really heard this analogy between den Roman Empire & the EU. Definitely not in school. That's the same shit... you learn dates and names and events burt seldom is there more background or connections that may could make you understand it... Love from Leipzig...
Does anyone really expect Hollywood to get anything remotely correct? Anytime I see 'based on a true story' or anything along those lines I figure the closest the movie is going to get is that a person by this name lived at some point and that's all that is correct.
The best description I ever heard of gambisons was "It's kinda like showing up to paintball wearing all the shirts in your closet."
HILARIOUS

That one Vikings spin off show that cast a Black Woman as a historically White Male must have made your head explode.
I would like to see the guy from History Buffs channel for a podcast episode.
We’ll try to get in touch!
There are bill hooks in the Monty Python and the holy grail scene where lancelot storms the swamp castle

Offer Quarter? Your foe refuses the offer of quarter, they will fight on to the last man.
Biker Vikings? You mean the great Nordic Biker war? Prison breaks using RPGs, how's that sound?
I never would of thought yous were twins
That pronunciation of Boudica though! 🤦♀
