Holy cow, he was priming his camp to retaliate to "cheating" for 5 years and he never stopped.
Yeah, it was always the backup plan. He just happened to not need it in 2016, but he totally thought he would.

Yeah, he kept talking about how if he lost to "crooked Hilary," it meant voter fraud was the reason. The only reason he won was because of the electoral college BS, the same crap that allowed GW to win the first time.
Its so impressive how this 8 year old episode is just as depressing or more depressing than current episodes! Its like watching an old nostalgic movie and realizing it is still just as good as when you first saw it, except instead of being pleasantly suprised, you just get crushing sadness and anxiety!
Trump saying “I meant it sarcastically, but not that sarcastic, to be honest.” is like when you’re forced to apologize for calling your sister a dumbass at the dinner table.
I saw 2016 Election Update and thought I had time traveled for a moment there.

It should be noted that it is actually illegal to continue to try and collect on an item that has been repossessed. Example being a car. If the car has been resold at a lower price, most dealerships will try to hound the previous owner for the remainder of the original price. This is illegal as they can no longer provide the item in question once payments are complete. You can take them to court over this. Dealerships continue to do this because they know if you can't afford the payments, you probably can't afford to take them to court.
It is really sad to see the *hope* of what looked like a pretty clear loss... from a dark-haired John!

Once all the backlog episodes are done being uploaded to UA-cam, I’d like to see a video made entirely of the thumbnails from the first to the most recent. Like a morphing timelapse of stress. John might not enjoy the prospect of mortality in flipbook form, but he’s a big boy.
I love John Oliver! He makes me realise that you aren't the land of the free and there is definitely no American dream! George Carlin would be a permanent fixture on this with John.

Uhhhh, $100k is not common at all, my man. Average cost of new cars today is $45-50k, which I agree is still ridiculous, but that's a far cry from $100k. New full size pick-up trucks specifically, are probably averaging ~$55-60k if I had to guess, and most of that is due to all of the modern safety equipment and tech that is either mandated, or that companies feel they need to include to keep insurance rates down or to remain competitive with other brands since customers basically expect 5-star safety ratings across the board these days, which is getting harder to pull off because all vehicles are getting bigger and heavier.
I think most manufacturers would be surprised at how many people are willing to sacrifice modern tech/safety for a more affordable new vehicle. The Ford Maverick and Ranger are doing well, and so is another ~$20k small pick-up truck, so I think they are catching on, finally. I'd be much more interested in an in-depth look at the "Dealer Mark-up" phenomenon that's causing even somewhat affordable performance/highly anticipated vehicles to be marked up tens of thousands of dollars higher than the manufacturer recommended price. I've heard for ages that dealerships have tight profit margins, but I've never heard/seen any extensive reporting done to investigate how true that is, and if so, how much of the highest mark-ups are done out of necessity and how much of those mark-ups is done out of greed/high demand and not enough supply.

@@1stnamebunchofnumbers TLDR: There are very few 6 figure pick-up trucks on the market right now, although pick-ups (like every other category) _have_ gotten ridiculously more expensive in a relatively short amount of time.
The average price of a vehicle these days is closer to ~$40-50k, not $100k, as you seem to think, due to how much more safety tech is in modern vehicles than there was the last time new car prices were more affordable.

This is the dictionary definition of "did not age well" .
Even if you do pay off the loan on this car you still have to pay for the baby's college education. And student loan debt can be a real burden too.

Working at a used car dealership for a reputable auto group, you see cars that are not really viable, I can tell you, stay away from used Kias and Hyundais. They have engine issues at the wazoo.

What they're uploading is full episodes, not just main segment that were already on YT. John explained in an interview that he and his team bought the rights to put all their episodes on YT from HBO particularly for people who cant get Max

@@Brian-tn4cd Yeah, I mean I can't for sure say it would be better for them, but even setting a premiere for the release of each episode MIGHT boost their videos more. I'd suspect releasing like one an hour during the daytime on weekends they're off would do a better boost overall, but like, who knows what the backend of UA-cam is like for channels like this.
