As a note, you do actually need the GPS antenna if you are using the navigation built into the unit. The GPS does not actually work without a GPS antenna as there is no internal GPS antenna in any of the Seicane head units. It can be discreetly hidden under the dash, but it is 100% necessary if you are planning to use any of the navigation features of your head unit. GPS is from Satellite, so it is definitely not stronger in city areas. In fact, in city / urban areas that are built up, your GPS will see less satellites than in rural areas. GPS does not work from terrestrial signals like mobile tower triangulation.

So I may have missed this detail, but is this head unit only for your Suzuki or will it work with other make and models like a dodge or something? My mind is blown by how incredibly simple and easy it was to install, literally "plug and play". And it fit right in to your dash with no issue. I want this for my daily driver (2008 dodge stratus)

What I find amusing is the fact that the only people who have problems with Seicane Android screens are people who connect iPhones to it thinking that it'll work flawlessly. Android and Apple products will rarely play nice together.

Omg finally a UA-camr with 1gb head unit, all the other UA-camrs have a 4gb or higher unit so seicane is misleading people by giving those youtubers a free better unit to review. people have said the 1gb unit are buggy and slow. I ordered one without knowing these facts, it's still on shipping status.....How is your unit holding up, do you have any issue. Is it slow and laggy And does it freeze. Instead of the 9inch unit likes yours I have the 10inch unit but it's the same specs as yours.

How do you get the sound when playing media/video files? I have radio sound but not media sound/youtube. Does that audio need rca video connectors out to be connected? If yes, where do i connect it to?
Hello, I have one small problem. In my sx4 there was better factory radio with navigation. So it has a cable to integrated GPS antenna which I can connect to the new radio. I theory thats good, but I cant disconnect the GPS antenna connector so I can remove old radio. It's seems like it's mounted from both side, so I have to disassemble the whole radio to just get it out. The problem is, the radio is sealed with very small torx security screws. Can't open it with my toolbox which has several torx sizes.
I was contacted as well. In talks to get a radio now for my WRX. Only problem is they want exact radio bay measurements and a picture of my factory plug. Odd since it's standard double DIN and I'll have to use a wiring adaptor either way. At any rate, hopefully I'll get one soon!
Maybe they just haven't worked with your year of wrx, since it's a bit older and they wanna be certain it fits right? They are a bit funky sometimes, but nice overall. Hope you get it soon too :)

Honestly no real complaints. Sometimes the unit doesn't remember the screen brightness setting if I don't drive the car for a few days. Navigation is pretty good but it does lag a bit at random, not often tho. The stock radio app doesn't display station names but I solved that easily and just got a different app from the playstore. Honestly it's quite a bit better than I expected. Sorry I don't know what time pay for internet is.

Hi, yeah I have seen the negative reviews. I can only speak of my particular case of course and it was really positive. I'm using the unit on a daily basis and there are no major issues. It's pretty smooth and fast. Bluetooth does disconnect sometimes at random and you just need to connect again, but I've seen that happen with high end OEM units too. Maps work great too, they lag once in a while, but that happens on most Android phones too. All in all, considering the price I am super happy with it, really improved my daily drive and the look of my daily driver's interior.
@@eirikpedersen9617 You must have connected something wrong or accidentally disconnected a cable or cut it. Get back in there and carefully check everything, electric connections can be tricky. Although I don't get how you could have messed up the back lights, I don't see how any of their wires would be in the center console area, but you cam never know.
@@eirikpedersen9617 Its one of the black wires, when plugged in to the car one of the blackwires is conected to your dashbord lights. Solution is to disconnect that black wire so it doesnt make contact with the dashbord wire.

Hi, the unit is still holding up great. No issues really. The 1GB ram was never a problem for me, but I also don't run any demanding apps on it. I use Bluetooth music, and radio mostly and navigation sometimes. If you need to use apps that require a lot of RAM you can always mirrorlink to your phone and impress passengers :)

I already have one in the back for parking, but I would want to have one more in the front, because it is a suv so I don't see very good in the front when I try to park in tight spaces. I'm really not 100% sure as I didn't make or design the unit, I just did an install and review video. I think both of those options may be possible but it's best to get in touch with Seicane directly for the actual details.
I still have it and had it since the day I published it the video. It's in my daily driver so I use it every day. Not sure about bt, but there's a link in the description and a the specs are there.

Yeah, I've seen some negative reviews. My particular unit still works without any problems. I really can't say if some other models had problems or not, but this one works great.
@@theprotectorplay7399 I found it on eBay, and that’s the thing. It came with a completely different coloured wiring harness. So I’ve still been looking for a Pinout or diagram of the original sx4 harness that connects to the head unit.
@@theprotectorplay7399 EBay brother, I can’t find the exact listing but it’s not the same one as this buddy got. I just found some random cheap touch screen one to at-least update the oem one. Just search for Suzuki SX4 capable head units on eBay or just any other site really.
It's really nice as far as I'm concerned, but I'm no sound snob :) This isn't a high end car so the speakers are also probably pretty basic, so even the world's best head unit won't make the best sound, there are a lot of factors involved in getting the sound you want.

How come you didn't connect any of the AV input plugs? You just left them hanging ???
most of those would have been for external speaker amps, subs and camera inputs. not needed.
the standard audio for the car is in the main connector.

It seems strange you need to disassemble the radio to unplug a cable. Carefully check the cable, there really should be a clip there or something.

I don't think you need to buy anything extra. Double check if the harness for the camera comes with the head unit, other than that it's all there.

Wifi is built in. You can either put a 4g sim card in it, or use your phone as a hotspot or park near a wifi network.

Don't know about screen size but this fits all sx4 before s-cross. Yes you can answer calls and make phone calls. You can even put a 4g sim in it.

I still have it and had it since the day I published it the video. It's in my daily driver so I use it every day. Not sure about bt, but there's a link in the description and a the specs are there.

Yup, no names just frequencies. But you can download a different radio app or even just mirror link your phone.

I haven't downloaded any sorry, I don't really need RDS, you can just search the play store for an RDS radio app, there should be loads.

Yeah, I've seen some negative reviews. My particular unit still works without any problems. I really can't say if some other models had problems or not, but this one works great.

Where did you find the radio? and you can find the wire on ebay or amazon.
@@theprotectorplay7399 I found it on eBay, and that’s the thing. It came with a completely different coloured wiring harness. So I’ve still been looking for a Pinout or diagram of the original sx4 harness that connects to the head unit.

@@theprotectorplay7399 EBay brother, I can’t find the exact listing but it’s not the same one as this buddy got. I just found some random cheap touch screen one to at-least update the oem one. Just search for Suzuki SX4 capable head units on eBay or just any other site really.

It's really nice as far as I'm concerned, but I'm no sound snob :) This isn't a high end car so the speakers are also probably pretty basic, so even the world's best head unit won't make the best sound, there are a lot of factors involved in getting the sound you want.
Does it have RDS, the thing that reads the radio station texts?
