James Dean was a class act and put everything in the roles he played. Just three movies but he became a legend..

Dude I feel James dean dad and actresses dad in film shows emasculated man and overly masculanated man's depiction. And the police officer shows the perfect balance and James deans future resemblence when he grow up.

Just watched it! Man, even the mansion they end up in is an establishment of the older - older generation. The stars are in the ceiling, enclosed in the observatory. Closed inside their town, their community

When you graduated they told you, "You are the future.", and is it true. Glad I am old. Your entire generation has been severely sabotaged, and you will need a baby sitter, and they are always bastards. Good luck kids. It breaks my heart.

I disagree with the rebel label. As it turns out Jim’s desire was to be a real man an honest man a responsible man He wanted to go to the police with the absolute truth no matter what the consequences were After buzzes
Death was the realization for Jim He realized it is time to be a man even if there were dire consequences. It was his own disfunctional parents who wanted him to lie and keep his mouth shut they still wanted to coddle and protect him from a undesirable outcome. Jim understood the BBC pattern just keeps repeating and he was going nowhere. That’s the real beauty of this movie. Jim finally understands manhood is about truth and accepting resposibility no matter what. He n knew he couldn’t turn out to be his parents or accept their destuctsble protection He is pleading with them to let him do the right things in life. Begging them toy listen and be. T

I just bought "Rebel Without a Cause" on DVD recently thinking I was buying American nostalgia for $37.00. It turned to be a propaganda attack against "middle class" families in the USA. The extra's even have a lot to say about the immoral atmosphere of hollywood even at that time, if you have the morals to understand what they say, (statutory rape and communistic producer Kazan),----------------------and you probably don't.
James Dean may have been a good young man, but that movie was propaganda.
