Thank you for posting this. My Aurora Afrika pen was a bit pricey at the time, but I consider it one of the best purchases I've ever made. It makes me happy each time I use it, and I use it daily.
I have to say. I have an Aurora Optima in the stunning green Auroloid. Not only does it look spectacular but I have a BB nib and it is a buttery smooth delight. I can well believe their superb quality control because this pen is simply gorgeous.
I've wanted an Italian fountain pen for years but I've never been able to save up enough pennies. Aurora sounds like a good company. It was an interesting tour of their facility.
My Aurora Optima is the only luxury pen that has written perfectly out of the box for me. For example, I’ve had to return two Pelikan M1000s and one M800 due to defects. I’ve had issues with Sailor, Platinum, Lamy, Parker and others.
Hi …just wanted to ask if have you ever used leonardo MZ grande pens… are they good out of the box or aurora is better? Just wanted your guidance in order to make my next purchase.. 🙏
Amazing! As a long-time fan of the AURORA brand (and a lover of stationery in general), thanks to your UA-cam channel, for the first time, I was able to look into the very essence of production. I was impressed by the highest production culture, cleanliness and creative passion of both owners and ordinary workers. Even the black t-shirts on the staff - the logo on the back, and the Italian flag on the right sleeve - I imagine how proud the staff are that they are Italians and that they work in Aurora. Like and subscribe :0-) Konstantin (Ukraine).
Mr. Appelboom, I do not know how I failed to watch the ‘How It’s Made” series before! I love Aurora and Montegrappa pens (one of my first pens was a gift from my University upon my retirement (a beautiful montegrappa). Since retiring, I have just become more obsessed with a more personal style of writing: fountain pen and paper instead of computers, printers, and required academic publications! Even my best students knew I taught law and finance, but my heart was always more focused on the classics, C.S. Lewis, theology, and philosophy. In those disciplines, it just seems wrong to not use pen and paper. Blessings always, KW

I like Aurora. Of the modern ones I have Optima and 88. I do finds that their tines are a bit too tight so I had to spread them a bit but now they work great. Fit and finish on the body of the pen is however perfect, much better than Montblanc and comparable to Sailor.
Most companies would never allow such amazing access. Thank you Aurora!
Mark Dillon it was great to film everything indeed!
great video. It's a revelation to see how these small family companies thrive in today's global economy. please do more!
Fantastic. A special company that hopefully will be trading for many years. It really makes a fountain pen feel special to watch artisans at work.

I love mine. I've had it for 15 years now.
It’s great to see a manufacturer that signifies its workers. Thanks for the video.
M D wr are glad you enjoyed the video
Amazing. Thank you and thanks Aurora!

Definitely going to check out their pens. I have used their blue and black inks and love them.
Their fountain pens are amazing!
Wonderful pens, truly exceptional nibs (the best), and outstanding quality control. Thank you for this video.

Aurora nibs are one of the best!
I recently got my first Aurora (88 Venere). It's wonderful to see the work that went into the amazing piece!
Welcome to the Aurora family

Aurora is a great brand if you are looking for an Italian fountain pen. Their nibs are so special and unique!
ufffff. Flex nib....exquisito. Saludo desde Medellín, Colombia.

Thank you for the feedback. Glad to read that the Aurora Optima performed great out of the box!

É incrível que numa era de mecanização e automatização, um trabalho tão artesanal seja preservado. Parabéns para a Aurora e seus funcionários.

Dr raza Pakistan
Great video, thanks
Rare, indeed, Joost - to make every component for a pen - that was delightful - thank you !! :D
An excellent video, really informative and beautifully made. Well done.👍
Glad you liked it
Wow...thank you for such a refreshing and informative vid. Hhmmm...Perhaps in the next life I'll have one...😁
The Aurora 88 Black Satin is easily the best Italian pen that I own. The vintage 88 is also a great pen.
You made a great video. I loved watching. I’ve even shared it on Facebook.
TJ Zidaroff thank you for your support!
How interesting, thanks mr. Appelboom. I guess after all your visits to pen companies you can produce your own pens. ;-)
Ko van den Boom Maybe one day you can buy a Appelboom pen;)

Nice video, I ordered the Optima on the 26th of June, I hope the wait will not be too long and I hope the nib does not disappoint me. :)
Thank you for the order!
One of those is a family heirloom. I love the gate.

Thanks for this video. This maker was unknown to me, but now I think I should check them out!
Paul Stanley you should definitely give them a chance!
Thank you for the wonderful presentation about Aurora. Will there be any presentations from other pen companies in the future?
John Lopez always working on new videos!
Terrific adventure 🖊🖋👍🏼
All the more reason to add an Aurora to my collection
Blake Ward agree on that!

But are the ballpoint pens made also by them??
Yes, the ballpoint pens are also made by Aurora
Gotta have quality control.
I wish their converters were better. Two of mine have split.
they are stilll using windows xp? dayumm
Nikhil Seenivas T K they just switched from Windods 98, step by step, don’t rush anyone!
@@AppelboomPennen as long as they make keep making good quality stuff, heck they can even use MSDOS lol
Fine, this is intriguing, but their designs doesn’t always seal well, and the up charge is rather enormous, still, at least they make their own nibs 😊
How was the ceo?
We have an interview with the CEO on our channel
But the translation from English to Portuguese totally a holyshit...
Now I know why Auroras are scratchy and skippy
many many problems with mu Aurora"s
by the way.. flex nib point by Aurora is the WORST product that I have seen..a piece of overvalue garbage...BEWARE
Can you be more slurry?
way way over rated and over priced.
