I have some 2' rebar that my son will hammer down by 1' for me so I can place some plastic conduit pipes over top of them. I'll have holes drilled offset at the base so as to peg them down also. I will have elbow and tee joins the join up the piping so in the end each trellis will have three 6' down lengths with two 3' pieces of piping joined by the elbow and tee joins. I have purchased 6' X 6' netting that will be hung and woven onto the piping. I hope it works. I'm planning on planting mini pumpkins, melons, cucs and what ever else I have space for. Lol. I have 4, 2X4 raised beds along with 2, 2X2 raised beds along with 4, 3X6 raised beds cut down from a leaky water tank. I plan on putting the 2X2 and the 2X4 beds up along the side length of my home that faces west with the trellises up against my home. In the 3X6 beds out back I have anchored stretched out arches for whatever to grow up and over. I know it's a bit late but I'm putting the scarlet beans on one of the arches to see how they go. My I've waffled on a lot. I'm not usually this chatty. Take care calikim and camera guy

I love the shot at about 4:30 when the camera pulls back to show a large part of the yard is the steep steps your planting in.
This was wonderful as it shows you don't have to have a huge yard to make a beautiful space and have a garden.

We also are doing scarlet runner beans which will be growing up on poles and bringing in pollinators! We have tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, broccoli, beets, turnips, carrots. I have peas growing on a cattle panel. It’s so much easier for harvesting than the teepee style I had in my raised bed last season. I have another cattle panel set up for melons.... but not sure if the brown spots on leaves is a sign of disease or just due to cool weather. 🧐

I am in Michigan and planting my cucumbers in 4’ X 8’ raised beds; I am using the farmers almanac garden planner to maximize space in my beds and it has my cucumber plants a minimum of 2 ft. Apart; Can I plant them closier if I am going to grow them vertically? I am growing Muncher and pickling varieties.....thanks so much in advance

Hello! Nice video. I have been using cattle panels for a trellis for several years now. I can trellis my tomatoes and several other vegetables. I have a question regarding the wire you laid alone the garden bed. Is that copper wire?

I use a doubled wrap around the posts with galvanized or stainless steel wire. Also, when using tools with metals WEAR safety glasses and a face shield. You risk a recoiling wire or shaing to your eye and face if you don't. I dont fancy you an eyepatch or blind gardener...

Could you please let us know where do you get your drip irrigation kit from?

Thanks for this....What gauge is the bendable wire?
Also, at what size do the rectangular lattices in the panel become too small for cucumber plants, if any? Or, is it ok as long as the actual plant vine can fit through the holes?

Kim would this work for zucchini and squash plants as well?
Any trellis ideas for bucket planted veggies?
    Thanks.

Question regarding trellising, I want to trellis my cucurbits about 6"-8" away from a block wall. I live in the PHX area, do you think it would be too hot for the fruits?

In most soil you will need to bury your posts at least +12"

What type of stake? Cedar or redwood correct is safe for the vegetables?

Never tried trellis gardening. I bet zip ties would work well in attaching the wire panel to posts too.

Yes, the thicker, longer ties would! Give it a go and let us know!

What do you do when your cucumber plant grows taller than the trellis you put up? How do you control the height? Do you just cut it?

I'm using old wire fencing. Got yo use what you got lol. Poor man's style 😁
Planted some radishes a few days ago and they're braking through already. Little guys are fast.

Hello DS - it's fun to get creative and re purpose what you already have - good job! The radishes are fun ones - you'll be harvesting before you know it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
