What a Milestone for your 50th Ep Andrew…..it moves!😎 Trust your OCD tendencies to refurb the wheel with such care and get it matching your gear knob. I have a wooden gear knob too so I’m always “touching wood” when driving and seeking to avoid any breakdowns, but it doesn’t always work 😉. Think I heard a little squeal from the belt, so get that tightened before the seats are back in. Always happens on mine and it’s either seats out or up on my lift to adjust the alternator bracket from underneath. What a pain! Must be getting close to that first drive now 👍
Thanks as always Doc. Yea the belt give a little churp, I've given it a readjust already so will see how it pans out :-) I had my registration documents come though so depending what the weather does this week I'll be off for a tentative MOT!
How satisfying it is to produce something of such high quality knowing it is the result of your efforts. In your case, dubbly so since you began with a vehicle that had not had the best of all workmanship, which you had to correct.
This is unbelievable, it looks so sweet and premium. You do amazing work. I know want a GT40 but at your level of quality. Amazing love your work and the channel. Thank you for taking us on your journey.
Well done! You're making me want to sell my Porsche and buy a kit! As an apprentice at Ford, I used to look after a Linden green Mk1 and occasionally a Mk3, so I have always wanted to own one, but dislike kit cars. Yours is the first I've seen that looks period correct and original enough, that I would want to own. Keep up the excellent work and attention to detail!
Really appreciate the comment Jason. although all kits (other than the Superformance or a Gelscoe) are massively different under the skin. Anyone could do what I've and paint it an old colour and fit black wheels :-)
🥹 It’s so beautiful (sniff). What a milestone. Sounds mean and looks like rolling art. The wheel came out nice but I wonder if you could find someone that could match the shift knob with a new walnut rim? I thought you were going to say the neoprene was to keep your ass from sliding out of the seat when you hit the brakes! So happy for you. It’s been a great trip along with you. Can’t believe, 50 episodes. Now, about that induction…😏
Thanks Charlie, perhaps having a bespoke wheel could be something on the wish list, all boils down to time and money at the moment. I have the time (hence the refurb) money on the other hand.... haha
Love the look of a wood rim wheel, but if you intend driving the car and enjoying the experience, it’s a nice padded leather wheel every time for me. I’ve always found wood rims a triumph of form over function. (The wheel from my last ‘40 is now in my old TR6!)
Absolutely stunning! Probably the best mk1 I’ve seen built. At first impression, I would think it was a gelscoe car, and they are getting on towards half a million nowadays. I can’t wait to see it with the downdrafts on, it would be the cherry on the top of a very delicious cake! Haha
Thanks Robert, she's turned out ok I think. Maybe looks far nicely on the computer screen though! There are some stunning builds out there so it'll be nice for me to get mine out there and see how it stacks up :-)
Just got here on this episode, I'm building one from scratch. Question: how do those seat belt eyelets go with whiplash?!?! Steering wheel and gear shifter look very nice
Great work, well done. I just wondered if the steering won't be heavy with a 13" wheels. I was a bit skeptical about the wood finish on a 40, but , yep, it works. And the gear knob looks lovely. Wondering if that's a 2k finish - it looks like it doesn't have the usual 'in-ya-face' 2k deep gloss look, and looks much more period as if its a cellulose finish - lovely. Anyway, beautiful car.
There's no weight over the front end of a GT40 so the steering is incredibly light. My old wheel was a 13" (swapped from a tractor like 15" wheel the car came with) and the swap made such a positive effect to the driving experience
And is there an outside of this garage? I thought you lived in a universe where there was only the interior of the garage. 🤣😂🤣. Congratulations, I am very happy to see the car assembled again. And to think it would just be an interior upgrade when all this started, and now you have a car in pristine condition. For me, it was worth the effort and I'm glad you bought a car that wasn't good, otherwise we wouldn't have this cool series of videos to watch. What will be the next project?
HAHA, thanks for the continued support Iran! Its certainly been a journey but its not finished yet, I'm looking forwards to this car ever evolving and getting out to car shows / road trips and making memories, so in answer to your question there will be no new car just the on going upgrades to this one :-)
Those rear wheel arches fit the tyres LIKE A GLOVE. 🤩
Thanks, I fitted the arches around the wheels to get that fitment
Congratulations! What a beautiful accomplishment.
Thank you so much!
A major milestone. Brilliant, well done.
Thanks John
Beautiful build of perhaps the best looking race car ever !
Thanks :-)
Absolutely awesome to see her coming out of the garage on her own steam 👍👍
Thank you mate
Made my day mate!!!!! Congratulations legend!
Glad you enjoyed it

Thanks William, I'm pretty proud with how its turned out especially like you mentioned what I began with!

Thank you Vito, really appreciate the kind words
Sweeeeet! What an amazing job you have done. Loved watching this build.
Thanks Michael, the videos won't stop, the car will continue to evolve and I look forward to filming going out in it and sharing that aspect of things
So nice. Good job!
Thank you! Cheers!
A beautifully detailed restoration, most tastefully done !
Many thanks!

The way this has come together is incredible. Total inspiration for when I set out to do a GT40 build in the next couple of years.
Thanks Harrison! Be sure to share your journey when you start your build
Looks great
Andrew - that must have felt so good, it sounded good and has such a beefy backside 👌👏👏👏☘️
She does have a fair old bit of junk in her trunk!
What a cracking great job!. I would be scared to drive it! Lol.
Oh I am!! haha. It'll take a few journeys to settle back into driving it again

Interesting episode. Two ideas for you: (a) find some nicer attachment bolts for the steering wheel (b) fit an electric AC system.
I spent ages choosing those bolts!! Maybe a leccie AC could be considered.....

This build is 100% form over function! haha

When you originally mentioned the colour plan for the car i was worried. But now seeing it all completed it looks absolutely stunning in that green.
Cheers Sam, trust in the vision haha
Looking well, but so needs a contrasting white roundel on each side, and on the rear deck 🤗
I might have something coming up you'll like in that case....
Just got here on this episode, I'm building one from scratch.
Question: how do those seat belt eyelets go with whiplash?!?!
Steering wheel and gear shifter look very nice
They go probably very badly! haha

Sensational job initially I thought no with the moto Lita wheel ,but know it's works so well. What is the finish on your dash?
Thanks mate, the dash I finished with a treatment called 'flocking' did it years ago when I first got the car
