They guy at 2 08,i recognized him straight away,i am pretty sure he lived off Shaftesbury road, How the years have just flown by , great video thanks for posting it,brilliant memories,.
Flippin Heck, I'm on film! Bloody Brilliant, Just showed this to my 20yr old son, Thank you so much for putting the film on youtube. Coor I had some happy days there. I was 19 at the time of filming. :-) Used to also go to Bobbysox at Neasden, Royalty at Southgate, Remember when Stuart (Wild wax) used to also do a session at Scamps in Sutton. Then started following CSA around, going to the Fountain at Tooting, Bedford at Balham, In fact all over the bloody place. Always envied that guy who used to dance with the two girls, Brilliant. I have a few photos of those years but no film. Cheers Mark
You're welcome Mark, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sure our paths must have crossed as I used to go to the same places : Royalty, Scamps, Fountain, etc. I still go to Rock'n' Roll gigs and still see Stuart occaisionally - a couple of old timers. I was the guy dancing with the two girls. Cheers Jim
Knew about the St Heliers but it was too far for me. Went to the Royalty, Bobby Sox, Bumbles around that time, all much closer to me. Bobby Sox was my favourite. Great video which reminds me of those places and the scene around that time even if it's a different venue. Thanks for uploading.
I most likely would of been there, i would of been 18 at the time i rode my Triumph Tiger Cub there from Bromley, or got a lift there in Simons blue Mini what had a Rebel flag painted on the roof, i wonder how many of those people who were there are still around, such great times and music.
Nice video, I read a lot about the Chick a boom in Noel Razor smiths books, I grew up not far from there, very cool to see a video of that era & the venue
My nan & grandad use to run the "Fish & chip shop" across the road , bring back some good memories. & yes there was a really under world of crime there but i didn't see it .
Saw Sandy at The Round🏠 last Friday & had 2 ask him. Did you sell your soul to the 😈 ? He looks exactly the same right now as he looked then! Can’t be!!! ❤🎼🤗👍
This is fantastic! Thanks for recording and keeping this. Can you get it transferred from tape to digital to get rid of all the interference from the TV? Great film.
Hi Mark, I make several appearances in the video. Coming in 1.16, double jiving 3.58, 5.09 and 5.53 also being interviewed 7.08. I have my own channel on youtube 'Jim Elliott Rock'n'Roll videos'. I have over 70 videos on there that I recorded over a period of 30 years. I have more to upload when I get round to it. Cheers Jim
My wife Debbie Draper used to go there she tells me,in fact it got closed down after so much trouble with soul boys trying to smash their way into the club that night, including damaging the many Rockin motors parked outside, however it was great days! did you get to stay with Una Gary? We saw Dave Phillips 2 nights ago play on stage in France! Still sounding great after all these years! Chick A boom Jerry used to DJ at this cub in video,he went on to do security at Hemsby, with some of his old mates you also know, which my wife also attended for many years, alas we moved to France and dont get as much Rockin time nowadays!
Long gone now. Have done my research on this pub. Was at least one attempted murder a week and one was actually shot dead with a sawn off shot gun and then chopped to pieces. Find it quite weird seeing what this pub looked like from the inside.
