What a cool idea on the crosscut sled for cutting grooves for the miter splines! I've seen a ton of videos, but never saw that idea before. Great video
+WoodRodent Thanks, I'm only using one tray right now and am thinking of using the other to hold potted plants to bring in and out of the sun room. I thought that would be a fitting use.
love the trays! Also loved that you used reclaimed wood... nice use of an existing product. They turned out beautifully... you've inspired me to make some!!
Thanks for the video. I love the time you put into your design. The final product is fantastic. I think I'll try my hand at your design for Christmas gifts. Thumbs up! :-)
Hey Michael, you're not being very safe. I've cringed few times when your hand was directly over the saw blade to pick up your pieces at the end feed. Use your push stick to push the piece out of the way. Got it?
Yes, as a retired Industrial Arts (AKA "shop") teacher, it made my teeth clench when I saw how close the hands were coming to that blade--and wearing long sleeves, too. I was rather sticky about safety "back in the day" and my students, even now after 35+ years have passed (and I still stay in contact with more than 60 of my former 8th/9th grade students via Facebook), they tell me that they still abide by the rules we agreed upon back in the '70s. Still, to this day, I make sure I don't wear long sleeves or loose clothing...and I remove all jewelry when working. Safety pays! I'm not trying to be critical or judgmental, just observant and encouraging to others to keep all their fingers and other body parts.
Look so well man.I love DIY tray.

Absolutely gorgeous 💓
The trays came out very nice and knowing their history makes them even more special. Great upcycle.

Beautiful looking trays! This is definitely a project I've been wanting to do for the house.
+Mike Merzke Yeah, these have been on my list for a few months. The Oak one gets used every day.
Awesome work
Nice work Michael, Thumbs up.
+OG Timbercraft Thanks OG
looks good michael!!-. .i never would of thought that pallet wood would end up looking like that..--gotta love the pallet wood.;)
+Joe basementwoodworking it's been a while since I have made anything from Pallets. I really like the black nail streaks in the Oak boards.
love it great video and great project 👌👌
That's amazing that the wood would still be useful after being IN the ground for so long.
+Peter Collin only one side of the boards were touching dirt as they were raised garden beds.
Nice! Well done.
Great looking Trays, especially from the beginning until you finished them. What were your dimensions for the trays?
Nice job! Looks great!
+Todd Weller Thanks Todd!

I like the shape of your handles. Other people make them way too big.
Mike go ahead and get that Ridgid Oscillating belt/spindle sander combo. Everyone I know loves there's.
+Mr Woodworker No.1 If/When I give up trying to find a used one, I think that is what I will go for. Thanks.
Michael have you got the dimensions for the tray
Well done.
One thing, please stop reaching over the saw blade.
