Okay, since you talked about Cas having a straight face while killing, I'll give you more insight on that: Castiel (Cas), when introduced, was this powerful Angel of the Lord who was built to follow Heaven's commands, he was a soldier and even said to have fought wars in heaven, and possessed no human emotion whatsoever, UNTIL... Cas was given the responsibility of saving Dean Winchester from Hell. From then, slowly Cas became a huge part of Sam and especially Dean's life. Eventually he started feeling human affections and emotions too and became one of the most important characters in the series. The whole theme of Freewill in the latest season was possible only because of Cas, the world could be saved only because of this one Angel with a crack in his chassis, who fell in love with humanity. Fun fact: Castiel was initially supposed to be in only 6 episodes, but he became such a huge fan favorite that they cast Misha as a series regular. Also, dangg it never occurred to me that Mish and Karl Urban looked a little alike until you mentioned !!
I heard he was only meant to have a 3 episode arc, but the creators of the show loved him and Misha so much they decided to keep him on for a few more episodes. And then the episodes aired, and the fans ended up loving him too so he was kept on and turned into a series regular like you said, and every time they tried to kill him off (and they tried multiple times) there'd be an uproar from the fans and they brought him back
The end is Castiel's death indeed, at least one of them. One special thing about this show is that the main characters dying pretty often and they usually finds the ways how bring each other back to life. The both vids that you watched were edit when season 12 ended and it ends with one of Cas's deaths so thats why the both vids ends with it too.

You should definitely watch one about Team Free Will. There are a lot of really good ones. Ones that show them as a family, ones that show them as badasses. They're all brilliant. Also, that's Angel Grace he keeps "drinking". It's what makes Angels, well, Angels. His was taken from him by another Angel, and so he had to keep taking other Angels' Grace in order to stay an Angel, then later he got his own back.
