You know what? A lot of water has passed under the bridge since our days being born in the 60's, teenagers in the 70's and young men in the 80's in old Brisbane town.
When this would come on the radio I’d hear that snare rap and be so disappointed knowing that the song would soon be over. Saw him so many times in the 90s - such a great artist.
Saw Ed at The Governor Hindmarsh [Adelaide] 20+ years ago, was just him on stage with a guitar and a load of pedals, he used a wooden crate and his feet as a drum kit. Soubded like there was a full band on stage.
When I was on a desert surf trip back in 1992 (mighr have dates wrong im getting old)with Tim bonthyon. This song was on constant play. Loved it. Always being a Saints and laughing clowns fan. Was so suprised to watch a few years later.your song on green iguana arguing with 'punks ' in Edinburgh Scotland about the saints. Just recently my good friend took his own life and the best photo of us together is walking towards the mountains at Mt Buller as your voice echoed. I just wanted to say that Thank you. My memories are filled with your songs.
What a great song! A character in a book I'm reading (Broken Bay by Margaret Hickey) was getting nostalgic listening to Ed Kuepper so I thought I'd look it up. Bonus! Glad I did.
i love you Ed. Please never stop making music. You're one of my favourite musicians ever and an Australian treasure. Hope you are well and hanging in there during these .. times, I don't even know the word to reach for right now... And that goes for all your listeners too - people clearly possessed of exquisite taste. 🙌
New fan here, I thought, until I stumbled into this track of yours. Truth is I have enjoyed this tune for decades. Thanks to that great Billabong surf video and your superior skills
This was the point where a tired Ed Kueper morphed into Alison Moyet. it happened so fast that nobody noticed at the time. How did such a genius end up making such dull music? Something that seems to plague Australian pop music, maybe it's the effects of the sun.
What a fantastic song! Reminds me of living in Melbourne in the early 90s. Ed, I got to see you play support to Neil Finn at House Of Blues on Sunset Strip back in July 2002(? ). Great night out for this wide-eyed Kiwi! (Rikki Morris aka Dickless...don't ask!)

My dad loved Ed. This was his send off song to the next life. I love and miss you Dad 😢❤
I hope his life was wild.

I remember hearing this for the first time one morning on Triple J (or was it Double J?). I've been hooked on Ed's music ever since.
