- In this video, I will be doing a style, character, and literature analysis of Audrey Hope from Gossip Girl (2021). I will be going over her personal style, aesthetic overview, penchant for the finer things in life, and how she fashions her outer/inner life. Her wardrobe is an honest representation of herself tangibly conveyed not only within image preferences, but it is also reflective of her state of mind through a preppy, refined, and chic lens. I'll be breaking down the symbolism of her wardrobe in relation to her emotions and life's events. With an appreciation for the classics and a contemporary taste, she’s an avid reader who relishes feminist theory and is very outspoken despite her soft or icy conduct. Because of this, we will also be taking a literary glimpse into the mind in hand with the psychological impact her readings have on her.
Audrey’s novels of choice explore a range of topics such as womanhood, desire, and bodily autonomy to relationships, (particularly themes of affairs), scandals, and glamorous lifestyles of decades past. These novels not only provide entertainment and a moment of reverie but also aids in developing Theory of Mind along with an insight into her own life experiences. Through this, we can better understand her headspace past her cold exterior to her warm heart as she strives to navigate her glamorous life while feeling the loss of her girlhood, the demands of what it means to be a woman, wanting to explore her sexuality, and move forward in her relationships.

Both Audrey and Monet have the preppy girl look, but where Audrey's is "soft", Monet's is "sharp".
in my opinion Audrey and Luna are the BEST dressed characters in the show, plus Monet.
But Audrey has something that makes her shine more, maybe 'cause she has more screentime, so we are familiar with her struggles and personality.
bravo to the stylist. and to you, fancy edit and good analysis.
Her styling both makes sense characteristically and is bold and accentuating. I think most characters are one or both but also don't feel risky. You'd think a preppy look would feel safe but somehow her styling is not. I'm really hoping there is a bit of an overhaul with the rest of the costuming when the series comes back, it was either really good or really dull.
I think Audrey is one of the good actors on the show and I love the nlonde hair it’s cute her and Monet r top tier monet is number one ofc

Loved this analysis! People love to demonise her more than other characters but they forget she’s meant to do questionable things and she’s meant to make mistakes. She’s been pushed to grow much older than she is trying to be her mother’s caretaker and it muddies her own growth as a young girl.

Already on it! I briefly covered each character in the first GG reboot video so I have a Monet segment done, but I took a lot of notes on Audrey and Monet while I watched since they had my favorite styles. It will be much more than 30 seconds haha but thank you so much 🖤

I appreciate your insights, and your videos look very polished and beautiful. You have a lovely voice too, but the way you sometimes finish sentences - saying the last word in sentence for so long - it is rather distracting and unnatural, to me, at least.

gooood the content is SO great but it’s so difficult to appreciate the videos because i just want the narrator to shut up 😭 it’s so ironic how the narrator speaks about high society people yet talks like this. like imagine sounding like this in front of the kennedys or the rothschilds . . . embarrassing. the narration also makes it difficult to tell when sentences start and when they end. the monotone combine with the vocal fry and random pauses is so confusing. when does a thought start and when does it end! the best way to watch these videos is on mute with the captions on.
