Season 6 Episode 1: In Richmond, Virginia, two masked men who were robbing a bank escaped after opening fire on officers responding to the call. When the FBI arrived, agents found one bank teller dead, another wounded; the bank's security guard had been shot four times, yet was still alive.
The FBI Files is an American docudrama that takes a look behind the scenes of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's crime laboratory.
Real FBI cases are recounted through reenactments and interviews, due to the sensitive nature of the show, viewer discretion is advised.
This narrator’s voice is such a big piece of why I watch these shows. He’s so creepy and awesome.

It happens a lot in the USA, and it could be just going shopping, or out to a concert, or to church, etc. Hell, sometimes the guy just walks in the bank and executes everybody in sight. See the story out of Sebring FL that got practically NO ATTENTION last year, when Zephen Xaver walked into a SunTrust bank and executed five employees, and one customer. All were women. Of course nobody really knows what his motive was. He only took innocent lives.

The security guard showed the highest level of courage. Knowing he had been shot and disabled by that, not knowing the potentially mortal nature of his wounds, he went back to confront the robber while knowing he was facing a high capacity high power rifle with a pistol. That's Congressional Medal of Honor material. "For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty."
One can only hope that he had a good life after that heinous attack❣️🙏🏼❣️

How is it stupid? Many of people with rifles have been taken down by handguns. You have to be proficient with whatever weapon you are using.
Shootout between a handgun and rifle is equalised the moment the rifle enters the range of a pistol.

Wow I remember this vaguely as I was 11 when this happened but I literally lived within 5 miles of this. The reenactment was on point!
I was 17 when this happened, now I'm 40. I stayed not too far in Chesterfield County.
I was in graduate school at VCU when this happened. The Richmond National cemetery was where the bank robbers ran through on their escape route.
I dunno, reenactment had white dudes with ski masks being described as black.

@@peterborg3340the gun jam didn't have anything to do with the robber "holding it wrong". The pistol, a Lorcin 380, was known for jamming. It was a manufacturing glitch that many owners of that particular gun complained about.

Yeah, TEC-9s are notoriously unreliable. They're complete garbage but they can put out a lot of rounds and were dirt cheap at the time so gangsters and amateur criminals loved them. The way the handgun jammed is called a stovepipe, it happens with certain handguns when you don't hold them firmly enough because the slide doesn't go all the way back. It's a good thing the consequences of both mistakes happened to show themselves at the same time.
Compared to other episodes, these guys are not very good robbers. Very bumbling. They would have been better off sticking up a fast food restaurant or convenience store.

Good show, and great investigators who finally caught the perpetrators and they are rotting in prison for the rest of their criminal and miserable lives. It is very sad that the security guard is blinded for the rest of his life. That is very tragic as well as the young teller who lost her life at the hands of a low life scumbag criminal. May she rest on peace. 🙏🙏🙏

The Lorcin 380 pistol used in this robbery wasn’t known for reliability, which is something I think both robbers were unaware of.
The Lorcin 380 was my first pistol i owned. Besides Jamming, the trick is to have one round chambered and 3 rounds in magazine. The Lorcin performance is way better with half of magazine
Tec 9 is also well known to be unreliable, not the first time hearing of one jamming and giving trouble to clear during a fire fight
