Jonesboro is a city in Clayton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 4,724 as of the 2010 census. The city is the county seat of Clayton County.
The city's name was originally spelled Jonesborough.[citation needed] During the Civil War, the final skirmish in the Atlanta Campaign was fought here south of Atlanta, cutting off the city and forcing the mayor of Atlanta to surrender at Marietta in early September 1864. The final fall of Atlanta in the Battle of Jonesborough ended up being a decisive point in the nation's history, propelling Abraham Lincoln to re-election two months later, and continuing the war until the Confederacy finally surrendered the following year.
MARTA and Xpress GA/Georgia RTA buses serve the city.

I love this drive! I lived in Jonesboro until a month ago when I moved to Oregon. I was born in Georgia and lived there all my life. Keep making videos. This homesick Georgia girl will appreciate it!
Absolutely. Many more to come!
I lived in Jonesboro from 77 until early 90's I went to Jonesboro High school,Suder elementary school, my parents still live there off of Jodeco ED near Lake Spivey.
My children live in McDonough, Ga, a few miles from here.
Big O I am surprised to see you here.
Hey when I was a kid I use to go to a school here A preschool called apple gate I just needed to watch this to Get those Memories back....
I enjoyed the ride. Thumbs up my friend!
Thanks. More to come.
@@MileageMikeTravels I will watch the Atlanta videos. I worked in Atlanta at the At&t Twin Towers. When I worked there it was named Bell South.
@@BigOvlogger Remember when it was Southern bell?
Before Jonesboro GA we lived in Forest Park,I now live in Mcdonough GA Henry county.
How would u compare Jonesboro to Mcdonough? Moving to this area from Oklahoma.
How do the elementary schools compare?
@@ljuan5000 now both of them are real crowded they're building too much here in McDonough now, when we moved here in 93 there was no Walmart nearby QuikTrip or Lowe's, they're just building too much it's too much traffic here now it was like country when it first moved here, I do not know really a good place to move unless you go south of here but then years from now it will be crowded too with all the new buildings.
@@marksreviewsandrants8554 Thanks! Real good to know. I wanna be close to airport and good schools but I'd rather be in a very small area. Thx 4 helping with my search. I probably will be looking south of there. And like u said, history will still repeat itself lol. I should have land by then though. Thx again!!
@@ljuan5000 no problem, I wish this area would have stayed country like it was when we first moved here there is just too much traffic and too many wrecks now.
- Very beautiful.
Request I-516 Savannah drive
Definitely will check that out when I have a chance to get to Savannah.
Request: Fayetteville, GA downtown drive
I actually had to look that one up just now. Didn't realize there was a Fayetteville in Georgia.
Beautiful - Bonito
Right when you turned on Lee street the lawyer I used for my divorce 2 years ago is on the left with the row of vehicles there.
Freee birddd
Looks like the middle of nowhere 😂
Be careful in this city. The slogan: Go to Jonesboro on vacation, leave on probation. I lived here for 5 years. It is a beautiful little town, but the local police will lock you up if you spit on the sidewalk.
Where did Halsey live?
@@kennypalermo9071 The singer, Halsey?
@@BigOvlogger Yes, Halsey lives somewhere else.
Good to know. Looks can be deceiving.
@@MileageMikeTravels This is the only town I have ever been arrested in. Now, I am glad I live in Kingsport, TN.
