My Sharp TV's 3.5 mm audio jack has broken. Unfortunately I could not repair like you because I couldn't find the same jack in my tv. As I watch in your video you replaced with other jack successfully. Nice video! Thanks.

Only had one speaker part of the time through the jack different problem than this. I now think it's a good idea to tape the speaker/headphone cable to the back of the tv a few inches out so it's supported and the weight of the cable isn't on the component creating a bad solder or causing a bad connection between the contacts of the component and the cable at one of the points on the plug at least if it's a tv on the wall with the cable hanging way down like mine. Great vid, it helps to shake off the intimidation after seeing how to crack into one of those you can jump right in, ty.

Definitely a good idea to tape up any heavier cables. Thanks for posting! Thanks for watching and taking time to comment! I appreciate it!

After obviously too many rough plug ins and outs the 3.5 ml jack on my tv kind of disintegrated. I opened it up and it looks like this is precisely what I need to do to fix it, I even have the spare part.....Now I just need to watch 354 ‘how to solder’ videos on UA-cam and I’ll be sorted!

My elderly dad dragged his headphones down the hall on his feet and tripped breaking his arm. His arm healed but he did a number on that outlet; he jerked it breaking it so it only worked with headphones, then finally snapped off completely. It's quite similar to yours - bit tighter spaces though. I'll try to use my mini solderer to fashion a jumper until i can find and order another jack. Thanks for your video - helped me know what to look for.

I just ordered a used board for $35. The jumper idea worked though. I tried to use a digital-to-analog converter so he could use his headphones but alas, the gizmo doesn't seem to work at all - just clicking noises. Always somethin

leonardo brocato does it have the RCA outputs? Red White and Yellow? If so, there are converters that make RCA to 3.5mm audio cable.
