I don't know how I didn't understand it before, but it's like the third time I watch this video and I finally understand how you do it. I was always confused about the matte in part and it did not work for me, so I just gave up on it, but now it did work. I literally have no idea how this time was different from the others. Thanks, this way saves so much time!

For vector i found that next to that Matte in , had to add an FX > layer blending > Transparency , then double clic the transparency node and adjust it. :D also you can animate the transparency with the FUNCTION EDITOR . Thanks !

Hi, I really need some help, so for some reason I can't get the Matte In effect working correctly. I inserted the effect into my shading layer as the source and my lineart layer as the Matte. Instead of the shading staying in the lineart, another layer, the sketch layer, is staying within the lineart, which is so weird because I haven't even done anything to that layer. Can you help please?

In Raster, When you are using the fill tool on the same layer as your line work, can you fill behind the lines?

Will you be able to retain this level of shading for every keyframe you draw?
