This is one of those games that is so deceptively simple yet can become so complex when you start learning its systems. Praise to vanillaware for developing this absolute gem!
I recently started playing 13 Sentinels, and watched your 10/10 review. You were absolutely right! Vanillaware really knows what they’re doing, UO is going to the top of my wishlist!
I was the weird kid who loved ogre battle 64 and none of my friends really go the appeal of the auto battles. So glad vanillaware made this and gave me essentially not only a spiritual successor but potentially a masterpiece to boot
I love the way the witches sway their hips while idle. Such a cool game with that Japanese quirkiness. I have about thirty minutes left on the demo, but I think I'm going to have to buy this gem.
I literally just ordered the collector's edition after this review, alongside Resonant Arc's. This seems worth the investment and I want to make sure to speak with my wallet here, Vanillaware is god tier, they did it again!
I can’t recommend this game enough. It’s so insanely beautiful, fun, immersive and all around just outstanding. My only (extremely small) nitpick is that the game could be a bit harder on the highest difficulty. I’m saying that as somebody who regularly plays SRPGs though. It’s still an easy 10/10.

When I get this game, I'll never see the sun again. These games are where I can upgrade every character for no reason but I can be my shot-in-the-arm drug.
Definitely going to. Just hoping it's lengthy enough as I like the longer games. Main story being shorter I don't mind but the total "see the sights and smell the flowers" kind of gameplay reaching over 100h per one playthrough and I'm good. Briefly tried the demo earlier and found it suitable for my tastes.
The overworld battles are not necesary to wipe them out because you get the honors when liberating the area but I found it fun to solve the puzzle to destroy them.
4 demo runs so far, all expert. Can't wait to play without skipping every cutscene and running around the overworld like a complete madman......Werewolf squad were you at!!!???
The game is practically crack, addictive as all hell and one of the greatest tactical JRPG's ever made.. The only thing better would have been a PC release,but the Switch version is gorgeous as well!
Loving it! I played ogre battle saga as a kid and to this day ogre battle 64 is my favorite of all time! When I saw this game's preview and saw "ATLUS" I knew it was gonna be good! It's literally ogre battle brought up to date!
Now I can stop playing orge battle 64! I got it because atlus was involved. After 100 hours I can say this game is great. The next title will be legendary.
I had such a hype for this game, i don't know what happened, played the demo and it was like "ok, this game is not for me", found it too slow, very repetitive, kinda easy too, it's very beautiful thoug, maybe i will change my mind by watching some gameplays after its release.
Can't wait to get it. I was too late to preorder it in store so I wouldn't have to wait for a week for the mail version to show up so I am taking the risk of waiting till midnight to buy it online for in store at Best Buy for when it opens tomorrow.
It makes things real easy when there's a demo available. Just know the demo is the opening hours so it doesn't reflect the difficulty the game ramps too as I think many have walked away thinking the game is easy
I really hesitated, because I keep hearing that there isn't really a story. And a 50+ hour game with no story sounds... hard to get through. But, your 5th ever 10/10? I guess I got to try.

I got the Monarch Edition. It's a bit of a bitch to get in Canada but I'm super happy with it. This game went from not being on my radar at all to me picking up the collectors edition LOL
I mean this in a kind way. You sound like you are delivering the 6 o'clock news. Whatever your natural voice and intonation is, use it and use it clearly with confidence. I guarantee it will be more than enough to make honest sounding reviews.
It's something I'm always trying to work on as I know it's a shortcoming of the channel. I think moving as well, from UK, to America, made me even more paranoid about my accent. On top of this, I recorded this video at 4am in the morning, took up to the wire to wrap it up

Kind of ridiculous that a single purchase game which simply includes the genre-required elements of risk vs reward (a la Slay the Spire, etc) is labeled as promoting gambling, but games that strongly "encourage" spending real money on loot boxes are not. I'm just impressed Balatro has managed to snag a top seller slot (and sell over half a million copies in ten days) despite being hard to get in so many places. Guess the cream really does rise to the top.

This game is awesome. I was heart broken by Fire Emblem Engage crappy game atter a successful Three Houses that u had 400 hrs in . And with Engage, i barely play
got the game early beat it and i gotta disagree while i think its good theres quite a few things i have issue with 1. no ng+ (this is my main issue) 2. its another game that gives something amazing as a post game reward but gives you nothing to use it on 3. pvp if its anything like where it takes place its gonna end up like disgaea 7 and disgaea rpgs pvp where it will just ends being one team pretty much everyone uses but really why im listing it is because its really the only place to use that post game reward but theres no real point for someone like me that doesnt bother with pvp 4. real short and nowhere near 100 hours for completion its another game where if i play on the easiest setting i can complete it in around 40 hours which i did lol 5. outside story and character recruitment stages pretty much every other map (and even some recruitment maps) are real small and short where all i had to do was rush to the boss and usually lasted less than a minute 6. ive got no real urge to replay it especially form scratch in no way would i say unicorn overlord is a masterpiece to me a masterpiece is a 10/10 game and unicorn overlord is a solid 7/10 at best what i will say though is its by far the best vanillaware game and the only one ive played that i actually enjoyed

The option to skip it is there for a reason. Hope they had gone for another style, sonething like Heroes of Might and Magic would have been great. I recommed everyone to try the Demo and see for yourself if its somethi g that you like, I got bored really fast.
Nintendo did stop it from crashing in the 80s. It was always gameplay first. Even Chinese gacha games understand this. Why can't can't the west understand live service? Me3 multiplayer would have been great ls.
REMINDER localization is butchered does remove things and change characterization which of course means screwing over characters, so if u don't like a character largely its by that bad localization even the way they speak is made up, they just speak normal modern than pretentious ye old english
Did you hear this from a random tweet by some chance or a few angry people on reddit? Checked in with a few folks that speak Japanese regarding the localization and they had no issues with it. Only one was online but I quote from when I asked as it's the only one I can reference: 'The OP in question clearly used MTL in their examples and doesn't have a true grasp on the language; I'd like to think there's room to discuss translation quality, this ain't it.' - I trust this individual a huge amount as they've pointed out a fair few problematic translations in the past

Ratings are a generalization. On the other hand, never trust Nintendo Switch channels. The rating bias is insane. Anything a Switch channel says is 1-2 points lower out of ten.

Thr switch version went out fast. There is currently plenty of ps5 versions on amazon which I nabbed.
I pre-ordered the collector's edition for switch right when i heard vanillaware are doing this game. Glad to see my faith was rewarded.
i waited about 3 weeks after it was announced to preorder the CE. Those editions will sell out fairly quickly.

I received my copy 3 days early. Im 25 hours in and yes its a masterpiece. Better than any fire emblem game and i have played them all
I wouldn't go that far but it's an amazing game. I personally don't think it is as good as path of radiance or awakening but it's great.

Both versions perform nearly identical. Though many will find it more appealing to take it with you on the go for this type of game.
