      I love cooking my food low and slow but I'd be lying if prep wasn't needed. Yes you ca walk away from it but like she also mentioned you're cooking a ton of things at the same time. Unless you have help it is still exhausting!

    Ossobuco is amazing. Try to pair it with risotto alla milanese. This how we eat here in Milan!

      I was in Milan a few weeks back and went to a restuarnt in the Nevigli district and had the Osso Bucco with Risotto. Was the best meal of the holiday.

    Yess!! We did osso buco à la milanaise two weeks ago at school (I'm at culinary school atm) and it is easily one of the most rewarding recipes for the little time investment you put into it! The fatty sauce you get at the end is soo tasty with the tender meat, and it is surprisingly affordable as well! 100% must-have recipe for every home cook out there unaware of this little gem!

    We cook these beef shanks in Morocco too and topped with caramelised sweet dried fruit

    something i’ve always thought of if i ever get the guts to try my own cooking content would be “how do you fill the time” and one of the best things I find to do is clean the kitchen while you’re waiting for things to finish simmering/in the oven. love that you even covered that. good stuff!

      you can just use broth or alcohol free wine

    As someone who worked as chef, then as a butcher it's absolutely disgusting to eat that. If you have any idea what those animals go through in their short lives it's absolutely disgusting. It's the reason why whole foods DOES NOT SELL VEAL. ITS BANNED BECAUSE IT CANNOT PASS ANIMAL WELFARE GUIDELINES.

    I've never even tried to make this, I really want to give it a shot though. My grandma, aunt, & mom taught me how to cook a lot of Italian stuff, but none of them really ever made this - so, I really need to try this out. Sounds awesome.

    I recommend searing the shanks two at a time for a better crust. You overloaded the pan with all four so you steamed the edges. Thas why it's barely browned.
