CS2 will see the game surpass 2 million concurrent players, so it doesn't matter how many people sell if there is demand for the items they're selling. The number of people buying Fade and Doppler knives have never been higher (because they look amazing), and while some are only buying to sell later, others just want to acquire one as a play skin before the price becomes out of reach for 90% of the player base.
Wow, someone who isn’t delusional in this commentsection.😂
Right like 1k dollar is not already out of reach. Bro according to valve 90% of the playerbase is playing on toasters which are too bad for 128 tick Servers. Sure those will pay the price equal to new PC for a frigging skin.
But how many players will come to cs2 and spend 1k + for skin? Idk I am really curious what is gonna happen
@@runek100idk man, the current generation of gamers love cosmetics, so I would expect skins to be a big draw for a lot of new players, kind of like a faux prestige
@@mayo_- normal skins around 100$? Why not. But fades and dopplers that are 1k+? I don't really think so. But we will see soon enough
Or all the big sellers offload and market crashes
100%
there will be definitely more demand than supply
@@Tkyotripz not so sure about that
you know that storage containers exist right? There must be millions of cases being hoarded currently@@Tkyotripz
@@BeckenPowerPL dont think so, even if what you think is right, the cs market is much more demand based then supply
my guess is it's gonna be a day or maybe a week of prices being dropped, then afterwards the price goes up as more of both the new and old players are willingly to open cases to get their first gold in the new game (not to mention maybe some of them are opening because of curious how the new case opening animation looks)
When CS2 releases you have to be stupid to think most of the big streamers on Twitch wont be playing it.
They probably will at first, but it could be the same as what happened overwatch 2 where everyone played it for a couple days
@@MrAar0n bro, but this is cs
@@MrAar0nits literally CSGO my guy
@@Terminated_Account Overwatch players thought the exact same thing, my point is anything can happen.
@@MrAar0n the difference is that overwatch was already hated and almost dead before overwatch 2, csgo is the most popular game on steam, fancy graphics and smoke change will not get those numbers down, it will only grow even.
Cs2 will probably increase the prices but it might be less than people expected at first. If more and more people are just holding and waiting for the newbies to join to sell, there will be more sold at once. It’s all about supply and demand, if cs2 flops or preformes really poorly we will see a crash, if the game gets ultra popular with lots of new people then the market will rise. But the more that hold right now the lower the profits will be overall for everyone and that is just a fact that won’t change. Still unless the game is absolutely garbage we probably will see a rise
a lot of people in china unemployed. going to need a huge stimulus! so i think the prices will be fairly steady, not a big boom.
@@jamesnguyen7069 I think the biggest boom wouldn’t theoretically be china, and this might sound crazy when you think back on csgos past, but what if cs2 actually becomes the first supported and updated game to go to console. That would boom the market prices like crazy if they also had access to the steam market and trading.
they released beta so it cant flop they will adjust according to people
@@R1kduvCSGO was to be on consoles, hence the circular buy menu. With the beta menus and the lack of attention console cs ever got we can safely say cs will never go to console
@@mayo_- I know, I even played it on the 360. But it was never given the updates or support (valve stopped within a year giving updates)so it died quickly just like tf2 on console. Also even if cs2 would be console ported it’s not a guaranteed that skins would be a thing. They might just add some outer shell version of the game and give aim assist and easy recoils for the guns, who knows😂. Also on another topic CSS drew a lot of inspiration from COD which was a console game at that time and even had some really cod inspired gameplay tucked away in the files that never saw daylight. But that’s another story for another day, pretty sure there are videos about it.
Rn it's a seller's market cause everyone wants to hold onto their items till source 2 , but the second it switches it'll be a buyers market and people are gonna start selling items for what they paid for
its natural for skin prices to increase, you are likely to see a pretty sizable increase in players, that then leads to an increase in skin demand, meanwhile skin supply of rare skins will increase but not to the same proportion.
Yes. But doppler and fade knives increase by 40%+. And more people unlock cases. You expect there will be a 40%~100% increase in the number of players after CS2 release?
@@TheCheukhin doppler/fade increases are due to the change in look nothing to do with players increasing/decreasing, they will likely go up even more when playerbase increases. if playerbase sees a 15% increase then you could assume price of fades/dopplers to increase 15% on top of the current 40%+ increase.
I've got a couple knives/gloves myself. I think that If everyone is holding to sell on release..sellers will undercut eachother and the market will crash. But I hope that won't be the case😂
This will be the case for sure. The invest case of the most is the release of CS2. When the event happens all want to sell to a stagnating demand -> prices will crash. Sellers will undercut each other.
And lets be honest... CS2 is not that much different to CSGO. The will not be a huge increase in new players when the game releases. There will be a short hype, but longterm the amount of active players will adjust to CSGO active player count right now.
When CS2 drops there will be an increase in skin prices and demand. More ppl will come back to test out CS2 and new players will join the community and will want skins. CSGo already has been growing in size even before cs2 and prices already were going up. And CSGO always has had higher demand than supply. Case hardened AK used to be like what $70 then in 2021 they were up to $150 way before CS2. Skins will not crash. Just increase a bit again then level out. Plus keep in mind how many ppl are waiting to buy skins Bc they want to see how they look in cs2.
Ah yes all the millions that are waiting to see thant 10k digital knife in a bit more pollished graphics with a bit more polligons the delusion caused by streamers and gambling addicts in csgp is truly fascinating.
@@biohazardmilk631 do you actually play csgo? Pretty much everyone who plays owns skins. Nobody is even talking about 10k+ items except for you, the guy you replied to is talking about an ak worth 1% of that.
At release prices will drop, the market will be flooded with people selling, which will cause people to panic sell and drive prices even lower. My take is that we will need to wait to the market to stabilize, then it will steady grow in the years.
The streamer and viewer community are going to play as a contrabalance, and raise the prices. There is not gonna be a better time than now to buy something cheap.
I hold my.high pricess skins 🗿
The idiots will sell, then the price will go up again and again and again after a period of time has passed.
It depemds on if operation comes with cs2 if operation and new skins comes out with game the skins will crash.
Many people is saying that the game will surpass 2M players on release , but most of those people are not counting that more than a quarter of players of CS:GO right now will not be able to run CS2 , as they are barely able to run CS:GO on their systems due to lack of resources. Counter Strike has been always a low requirements type of game, and that is becoming more and more forgotten over time with the advance of technology.
Game runs just fine on older systems
I fucking lost it when he tabbed out to open a case 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
3:48 ohne realizing that without cases there is no streamers
i think it will depend on how the first major goes
If more people want to buy than people are willing to sell = Price goes up. If more people want to sell than people are willing to buy = Price goes down. At CS2 launch everybody will try to cash out, bringing the price down, this is when you should buy
People will want to play it on release for sure.
i think it depends on the new rank system / operation.
Short term, not good. In a simple macro world. Higher interest = less borrowing = less competitive wage = less spending (even on skins)
absolute chad move opening a riptide
2,489 knives unboxed daily, are you taking into account that some of the cases being unboxed have gloves in them?
It will do like csgo, but since the market is already established and the player count will merge at once it will come sooner. Csgo took about 2 years to see a big boom. At first everyone on 1.6 and source were hating on skins, when they saw a way to make money just playing… the move been made. The price will stabilize and people will know its not going down, so it will go up gradually until the boom for a new time high for most items.
I mean like all NFTs, it really depends on the developers to impact the price. If they update the game, price goes up, if they dont, it goes down.
I get that prices will most likely increase upon CS2's release however, prices are scalped as they are currently. Most people who play the game on a recreational basis will never be able to afford these skins if the prices exponentially increase, it's hard to compare skins for a video game to a stock in that regard - a stock is a product designed for people's investment, a CS skin on the other had is designed as a cosmetic for a game. At the end of the day the prices can increase all they want, but if they become so expensive that only opportunistic investors can afford them they will lose their desirability as they will no longer serve their core function. Just my 0.02$.
well i feel like that if the skins go so out of hand that no regular person could afford them, valve willcdo something to deflate those prices or the entire market will die. if noone can afford skins, then their value drops by default, no?
@@uros7320 Yes exactly my point, although what I was getting at is a more nuanced point. The core problem is the majority of people opening cases/buying skins atm are doing it for an investment and not to use in the actual game. Therefore they have lost their core function. To someone like myself who actually plays the game it’s frustrating, all the better looking skins are now being treated as crypto and are therefore unaffordable.
@@Tigreh on a real note (no that i dont despise the chinese) i was also frustrated when i came back to the game. i stopped playing in ~2019 and my favorite knife was a butterfly. a friend of mine bought one in 2018 for ~150 euros, and i was aiming for the default one, and the last time i checked how much that knife was worth was back in 2018 and it was ~250 euros, so i was so hyped that ill buy a knife now in 2023, then i checked the market and realized that everything is fucked, default butterfly went up 10x in price in these few years, all the knives went up 5-20x as well, like fuck, i remember giving my friend like 100-200 cases that i bought in 2017 so that he could by rocket league, back then that wasnt even enough for him to bu rocket league, and nowadays it would be worth over 200 euros. the shittiest of skins now cost 50 cents to a dollar. there are no decent looking skins below 4-5 euros, and the actual good looking onces are over 20 for most guns. the only thing that iwas very surprised about was how cheap gloves were. i saw a pair i liked in game, and thought damn those must be 2-3k at least, i checked it out on the market and they were 70 bucks.
like you can still get a decent invetory with a knife and gloves, but it takes like ~400 euros and most people cant afford to waste that much money on cs, like sure you can get most of the money back, but again many people arent aware of that or simply dont have that kind of money to spare :P
@@uros7320 the way I see it if you really wanted those skins you would have bought them when they were cheaper or costed nothing...now you're complaining cuz they're expensive? If you never purchased it when it was cheap or worthless than you never really wanted it. It seems to me alot of people like you didn't take advantage when you could've or maybe at the time you thought it was way too much for a skin....now you see price currently and how much it's risen wishing you would have bought it back then.
you completely missed his point lol same story for me pretty much but i was in high school in 2018 so i didn't have that money its not always all black and white ya know@@cesarlavarello8060
if you consider that a knife from a case is one in 400 chance 99% of knifes are cheap.
imo skin prices will scrumble. there are just too many gamblers (many addicted/sick) and relatively few players. each day more knifes but playerbase not rising. market will go down overall. only really special items will keep value
The economy will crash, prices will drop, skins cant always be out of reach of 90 percent of the player base and still stay inflated unless they are rare.
Anyone who has skins from cases like Shattered Web (containment breach) or Broken Fang (printstream) should see a huge rise in prices. Those cases are limited and I think a load of them are going to get opened during CS2, prob going to reach £5/£6 a case within first two weeks.
Hilarious how self contradicting this video is, Hey_Zeus literally is sponsored by himself buying CS:GO skins while claiming that there is a bubble and it will burst once CS2 releases lmfao.
Makes perfect sense.
Holy smokes...an intelligent take under a CS economy video! I am about to propose!

I think that prices will drop for cs2, cause a lot of people are holding there skins and then they will flood the market and force prices down. Seen stuff like this with many other games and in real life. But ofc cant be for sure :o
Glad I bought an M9 case hardened a while back
In regular markets there's a term "buy the rumour, sell the news"
I think the speculative pop has already happened. Remember what happeend to weed stocks when weed became legalized?
The only skin I need is Awp Wildfire, I already have every skin I wanted in csgo...
Honestly it's hard to predict but i trust in the worlds population (new demand from new players) so i will keep my skins
I have a feeling with the *actual* CS2 release we will get some crazy case or an operation which will cause the prices of old skins to drop like always, but its hard to say for sure. Imagine if we get brand new knife finishes for example, people will not care about the old ones for a while.
L
i ain't into skins like used to. but if u ask me sell now or never. later on when cs2 will come out prices will eventually go down not up it's getting above average just like u said ohne cuz people are getting ready for cs2 not for cs2 1st patch.
Yes, raidensdoctor, this will be on UA-cam.
where do i find this chart with buy/sell transactions?
All I know is when I started playing a FN Howl was like $500 and pretty common to see in the game. I use to think it was moronic to have a $500 dollar virtual skin, now I wish I had a few lol.
The price increase is because profit expectations are already priced in the market... I would sell now if you were looking for profit. If you are a collector.... keep.
Why is nobody considering how many people will leave just becouse of the game requirements on pc hardware and how the game looks?
I honestly dont understand why valve doesnt just increase the amount of case drops. They could do 1 per day and make more money selling their keys.
Because of the Anubis case. Why drop more cases when you can make the same 2.5 USD per case without having people buying a case first? It's ideal for valve because it keeps case prices high and investors happy (also they make more from steam tax) and also earn the same with their new case. It pushes people to open Anubis Cases instead of older ones (a lot of people don't want to pay extra for the case to open it) and that keeps older skins rarer
Anomaly’s video explains the situation far better
Now will be the best time to sell to get the most money as when cs2 comes out everyone will be listing their skins and undercutting each other and it will drop back down.
Does a bit of math. Has to slam a case opening 🤣
the twin blade just looks like skeleton but split up
I think cs2 will release with new skins new cases and a new operation. Maybe even nade skins or zeus skins... prices will explode. Sell in the first week of release.
if it does very well, it will win over the competition of valorant and monopolize the tactical shooter cs like shooter

dude if like 70% of people sell skins after relese of cs2 the price will go down cuz there will be to many skins being sold and not that many bought.
I think the prices will go up and then down and up and then down and so on and so forth.

Demand for high tier skins alone will increase the overall skin prices due to trade up. Chinese players are rich, are they love skins. Fluctuations are fine, but prices will always increase in a healthy economy as is in real life,

I think if they cant sort the cheating out its gonna be a flop. Me and my friends have been dying for it to be released in the hope the cheating stops but it dont seem to be the case. Im considering going back to play cs source. Some have stopped playing it altogether. How can a ranking system work with so many cheaters.
With the boom of players that are getting drops and opening cases plus all the people selling when it releases, i wouldn't be surprised if its like pre cs2 announcement
29 Million? Where do they come from when the market doesnt offer that amount?
mous paris holo is low key better than stockholm
I mean cs2 feels like just a minor graphical update to csgo. There isnt much to be hyped about.
Always sell the news. If you dont sell before cs2 is released you are going to watch your money evaporate.
exactly
I have around 7,000 hours invested in CSGO, and I live in Belgium. Since the beginning of the game, I've hoarded everything I've received, keeping it all until the last boom in the market. Due to regulatory measures against gambling in Belgium, we are unable to open cases here. I've kept all my cases and even bought some capsules a long time ago. The last time the skin market went up, I sold half of my cases and used the proceeds to buy gloves and a knife. Ive spend arround € 150 on csgo and my account in worth €1000 now :p
It’s not… 1000€ less fees where ever you’ll try to sell hardly at a fair price… you maybe have 520€.
@@ghostrider4803 i would say arround half of that is based on my cases i have left. So if cs2 will come out or even over time some of them will rise more. I get your idea but losing 50% is a bit on the high side. maybe 15% would me my thought. 3rd party sites dont ask that much do they?
@@gibig7544 you’ll see when you will try to cash out, every website is here for a reason, you can make a simulation, just go on if with your inventory. And I have yet to get a knfie in all my openings :(
Don’t invest it’s that simple
Well it’s fucking dumb the price gouging going on! For instance. I have black Pearl butt plugs and valued at $300 and then suddenly they are all worth $1200. It’s nice when our items “go up in value” but even I realize the new prices set are fucking mind blowing.
Just about every knife or glove 3x. Most things. Just because people charge that much doesn’t mean it’s worth anything close to that.

It's going to be funny watching all you collectors choke when some new sick ass skins come out along with CS2
09:00 xDD
Imo, they will only fall cus new players are very unlikely to spend thousands of dollars on a game they barely started playing.
For brand new players that’s a fair point. But a large portion of the player base played csgo throughout high school and probably quit for awhile afterwards. Buying a csgo knife probably never crossed their mind back then, but now that they’ve had the chance to work and make some money, they might be interested in buying a knife when they come back for cs2.
Forget you are a no life addicted to the game since a long time. You won’t even pay 10$ for a « wow » dragon lord that makes hard any nerd.
Wll cs 2 is unpopular because they don't give access to everyone
its always increase in the long run, depends when people except to sell their investment.
we're gonna see new collections and cases in the future no matter what, so in the long run its always the increase
I'ma laugh when the prices crash. All the collectors are gonna cry that valve is doing it on purpose or some dumb shit.
Old skins look like crap. The value should drop of old skins especially when new ones drop on the new weapon models.
Nobody cares as much bc most of us cant play. I don't watch anything about cs 2, I want to play thatbshit myself
csgo will release and have heaps of problems but it will thrive
I personally believe there will be a drop in prices on skins.
As a daytrader, there's a saying "buy the rumors, sell the news". It's frequently associated with positive rumors about a company making the stocks run up, followed by a dump as soon as the news breaks out. In this case, the hype building around CS2 is causing lots of prices to run up in anticipation, but when it actually plays out, my guess is that there will be a large dip that follows.
It's bang out of order mate. Imagine that you can buy a skin, a skin for a game that just changes the looks, for way more then a new car.
I hope they make skins more towards achievements that you can earn for free ingame and that is unsellable. If you put hours into the game and actually show an effort, you should get rewarded, rather then just throw money around and only be silver ranked.
I have a question. why are ppl putting so much money into skins when Valve could change the drop value whenever they want.
Kinda bad question, valve only make things rarer, not more common.
