Solo Overnight Hiking Adventure Living off the Land EP.499

  • Probably my hardest and best solo overnight hiking adventure ever. I trek into the jungle to live off the land eating what I catch and cook on an open fire. I caught many good mangrove jack, Barramundi and some Tarpon.

    Another great trip. Some lovely fish and a simple meal. I have à couple of tips that you may, or may not find useful. 1. Mark a few size limits on your rod so you don't have to estimate. 2. Take a pair of Crocs for walking in water and as evening wear. They weigh next to nothing and are easily attached to your pack. All the best.

    • @Andysfishing
      @Andysfishing  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the tips! Yes the croc idea is a good one, but I also like to feel the earth under my feet. I am pretty good at sizing fish, and I always err on the side of caution. I used to have my fly rod set up with 5-10cm increments.

    • @rhino5419
      @rhino5419 3 роки тому

      @@Andysfishing hello again. I enjoy being barefoot also but if you cut or spike your foot you still have to walk out on it anyway so caution is best and you never know what is under the water. When i was younger i got my leg paralysed for 3 days from stepping on a weaver fish in Scotland. I am more careful now. Lol. All the best mate.

    Love the hikes. Always exciting. U got some balls on ur adventures with croc creeks snakes nd all this stuff Australia has to offer. Respect for that. How amazing it would be if I could do videos in that nature settings. For now I'm happy with my little creeks and lakes in Germany. U actually inspired me to start my own vids. Thanks for that. Always like to see what ure up to on ur adventures. How about another smoked fish in one of yr next vids? Or have u ever tried graved salmon? Might be able to do that with other species too, who knows. Cheers anyway Andy, my genuine appreciation.

      Thank you Phil. I think I have encouraged many new YT channels, it's quite amazing. I also speak German if you prefer, ha ha. I like fishing for your Pike in Bayern. I'll check out your channel too. Andy.

      @@Andysfishing haha nice. Danke , ist mir eine Ehre. Der Herbst kommt und Hecht steht absolut auf dem Speiseplan. Hechte sind wohl unsere Barras. Beißen jedenfalls ähnlich stark auf die kunstköder. Liebe Grüße nach down under.

    Hey Andy, Really enjoy your videos. Pretty amazing really. Flying in on an ultra-lite into some remote location, living off the land and avoiding the crocs... For a Sydney resident with just one Kimberley trip under his belt I can't get enough of this. I don't suppose you need a fishing buddy for a week? Cheers, Jim
