No one anywhere does military marches like the United States Marine Corps Band! I have the privilege to have served at 8th and I in 1971-72. Semper Fi 😊
This is the absolutely finest children's concert I've ever seen or heard, and I grew up on the Bernstein Young Peoples Concerts. The excellent demonstrations, fine playing, and humor are a perfect mix for children of all ages.
This was absolutely magical! I enjoyed it so much and I have been a musician (euphonium) for over forty years. The children must have been entranced. I loved the idea with the colours, and the production for the online version was spot on, great camera and sound work, editing and special effects. Thank you so much. I will be recommending this video to all my friends with kids. Very much looking forward to more of the "band rehearsal" series too, hint, hint! Thanks
What a great educational resource! I loved all the painting metaphors, and the engagement was fantastic for all the young minds in the audience and on UA-cam!
Terrific! I think he mentioned that Bernstein did something similar decades ago that was filmed. Our music teacher in the early 70s showed it in class. THIS WAS SO MUCH BETTER!
Very good presentation on the band. Similar to Bernstein! Much better though. Great information and demonstrations and concise with wonderful transitions and engagement. Well done!
Food for thought… for every can that the conductor picked up, maybe the stage could light up that section of instruments to give the kids an idea of where they sit and sound like?
A lloving presentasinn med av all musikk off all i instrumenter I vos playing Tuba and Baryton. But am born vid sik lunge and spinal dissist so å cant play mure. My doktor has told that I m can 😢tanking mye playing for May playing that I'am kollapset before.
Its a shame he skipped the Contra Basson, Piano, Harp and the one and only stringed instrument the double bass violin. Some should have also brought a Sousa Phone.
Just nitpicking :-), piano and harp are not in the (official) configuration of a wind orchestra. The double base is. And the Sousa Phone, well it's just an odd shaped bass tuba.
Um, Piano and Harp are also string instruments. Sousaphone was the marching tuba before "convertible" tubas were invented. It's not what most consider a "good" sounding tuba compared to a real one. However, if those string instruments are on the stage and playing, they are in the band! He should've mentioned why he didn't mention them!
@@JohnResciniti there's (still) an ongoing debate if the piano is a string instrument or a percusion instrument because the sound is created by (felt) hammers beating the strings.
Enjoyed this concert very much. Terrific playing right around the stands. Tubas were outstanding in their solo in 'The Stars and Stripes'.

I never in my whole life would have thought of having a tuba play the piccolo solo...OMG
It’s kind of a tradition for the tuba player to at least know that solo
Having Careless Whisper played by a Marine wasn't on my bucket list, but I realize it should have been.
This is amazing on multiple layers! Oops... IN VARIOUS COLORS! Bravo! Bravo!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is a wonderful concert!
This was a great concert and a wonderful teaching tool.

What a great way to introduce the instruments, and of course, so very well played.

Excellent !! 👏 👏
Love it, a modern take on a young people's guide to the orchestra.

Excuse me, sir, but you forgot the contrabassoon, harp, piano, double bass, cymbals, and tubular bells!
