As a restorer of two '57 smallmouth TR3s, I can totally agree with the avenue of learning 😀 Great story and a superb-looking car. Something to aspire to.

Great video, not just about the car, but also about your ability to learn from fellow enthusiasts. Well done Mr. Salonga!

Beautiful car. Love the interior. My first car as a 16 yo in 1964 was a beat up 55 TR2. I am also the proud owner of the first TR2 built in 1953- TS1 LO.

Probably Google & UA-cam sharing search data, as I don't think I ever searched the TR2 anywhere but Google. I'm grateful for that. This is a brilliant little film and deserves more than the 118 likes it had when I watched.

keep all the mods and update it for today's use , its your car ,do what you want with it.. I owned 2 of these in the 60s ,a 2 and a 3a with loads of mods ,,2.2 pistons and liners and SAH camsharft etc, the 3a would touch 125 mph down hill .. Conan UK

Thanks for the great video. I love your car's obvious correctness. Beautiful restoration. Most people make Frankenstein monster TR3A-like rebuilds out of TR2s. I have a very original '55 in need of a body restoration (TS5379-O), but I drive it a lot and is all too much fun. It still has its original green under a bad red respray and should look a lot like yours (including the rare grill beading!).

What a beautiful car. The contrast of colors between the interior and the body makes it pop.

@@cirrus1964 I tell people if you don't want an addiction never ride in a british convertible. The earlier Triumps caused the pound sign with the most beautiful of the bunch will give you TR$. Actually the best is a 68 TR5. Silverstone mags valencia blue with black interior with A hard top kit toyota 5 speed.

@@abee3515 There's a huge difference compared to now. When I bought the car, for what's now not even $ 800,-- (which the already was expensive for a 13 year old car), the TR6 was already around, the factory still was there. One could get any part within a few days.Ps, in 1979. I was at the Triumph plant in Coventry to pick up parts for my Stag. It was afternoon Good Friday, what baffled me, was more than 75 employees were having their feet up on their desk, doing nothing. I sensed the end....

@@abee3515 Times have changed. I bought my TR3 in 1970 for Fl 2000,-- (around $800,- nowadays! Parts were still available in a few days. In those days the TR6 was already on the road. But I always as a boy want a TR3. I drove it without any problem through the south of Europe, to my Mother country England. Most maintenance was done by me. But when I walked on Good Friday in the Office of the plant in Coventry, to pick up some part for my Stag, and saw over 75 employees with their feet on their desk.......I knew the end was near!

You did a wonderful job on this car. The judges are paper pushers and don't get into the 2 and 3 year restoration of the Triumph.

If you have ever experienced pollution in a Mega-city like Manila or Mexico-city, you wouldn't poke fun. Being out and about in sunny conditions at certain times of the year is the equivalent to chain-smoking 😜
