Hi, I have an unrelated question, I changed the timing set on a 5.4 2v. I'm pretty sure I put the plastic rail tensioners on wrong side (left on right and right on left). Should I take it apart again to correct it or do you think it will be fine. In only a few miles is running fine so far.
Curious at this point how much all of that costs? Between the engine, shipping, new parts.... does it make sense? Or should I say dollars and cents? By the time these trucks need this much work, generally unless they were really well kept as far as body and interior, they are worth less than the parts for this build. Am I wrong? I'm currently considering doing cam phasers, timing set, and oil pump on a nearly cherry 05 expedition, but they routinely sell for $4500-5500, so if I had to do an engine I would being buying the value of the vehicle in parts essentially. I'm a bit conflicted especially once you add in all the labor.
Hey I have a question about a 98 Ford F-150 with a 5.4 my uncle sold me this truck and gave me a packet that reads 2007 remanufactured motor what does this mean and also how can I get ahold of you to ask questions

Lefty loosy righty tighty! Applies almost 100% of the time. Unless you own something like a bus, then the drivers side lug threads are reverse, but anyway.
My son and I were able to swap out the 5.4 in our 2004 F150 in a couple of weeks following the videos. No issues and the truck started and ran perfectly first try. No codes. No noises. Just a smooth running truck. Thank you for the care and time you put into your videos. They are a tremendous resource!
The engine drop was classic and the look on his face said it all. We all have been there and done that just part of the learning curve. Nobody got hurt no damage happen so all is good just a little jumpy now. Thank you for all you do to help others to be able to do the job and what to watch out for.
Yeah I'm glad he didn't edit that part out of the video, because it's true we all have done that. And still the most detailed video I've watched in a while.
I bought the same exact motor and used these videos as reference on questions I had which has been amazing and helped me out quite a bit! I would like to add on the oil priming process I went through about 10 sessions of cranking and never got oil pressure. I called the warranty department for the engine and they were very helpful and told me to try a few things. First thing was take the oil filter off and crank it then. If that didn't work get a jack, jack up the back end of the truck as high as I can safely do it and try it again with the oil filter off, it didn't work with just the oil filter off so I jacked up the back end and initially it didn't work but after a few more pumps on the jack got it a little bit higher I finally got oil to come out of the oil filter housing. I then put the oil filter back on and immediately got oil pressure on the next cranking session.
I had the EXACT same issue and was fully prepared to wash my hands of it and have it towed to a shop. But…this worked like a charm. Amazingly helpful post.
The most important lesson I learned in this video, is how to treat your help when they goof up. The sign of a true professional. How many smiles and thank yous do you get from customers each day? I love your content and I'm a bow tie til I die kinda dude...
UPDATE: Heads up!! to anyone doing this a few years down the line. Powertrain products no longer ships the rebuilt engines with the 3 stud bolts at the top of the timing chain cover (where the radio interferance capacitors and AC comp muffler go) make sure you buy new ones or take yours off the old engine!
I just swapped out my old motor for a reman from powertrainproducts. These videos were awesome. Huge thank you! Also as mentioned elsewhere in the comments, I also couldn't get oil pressure initially, so finally removed the oil filter and jacked up the back of the truck. Once oil started spilling out, I put the filter back on and bam, had oil pressure on the next cranking session. Truck is running great!
How much did the engine run you and do you know what kind of internal parts they use? I got a 08 with 275,000 that I'm gonna have to replace the engine or get a new truck not too far down the road.
@@Jay388 I just Purchased one this week it was $4700 they are running free shipping through this month of May and the engine itself is actually discounted quite a bit.
The Best Ford guy on UA-cam!!!! The detail on the transmission line up is so important, Take your time and do it right. Thanks for your Excellent videos and sharing your skills. A pleasure to watch a great Tech!
I seem to be having issues with the metal shim hitting my torque converter studs and making it so the engine won’t turn over when the trans is bolted in. Any tips?
Many years ago, when I did the trans on my 93 F150, I used a couple pieces of all thread through the dowel pin holes. As I tightened the nuts, it pulled the trans forward in near perfect alignment. It worked like a charm.
Outstanding two-part video. Thank you for all the detail. I followed the two videos minute by minute on an 07 FX2 and the truck is running great. One fun thing if you’re going minute by minute- put a pan under the lower radiator hose before you disconnect it from the oil filter adapter. I dumped a ton of fluid in my garage then pressed play and sure enough the next step was to put a bucket in place, had forgotten seeing that advice when I watched the whole video earlier. Way to stay calm and cool with your son!
In the 80's we would do this job 2 or 3 times a year with our buddies. Someone was always needing an engine. 24 hours and 48 beers later we'd have another used engine installed. Never ever did anyone get a brand new one.
I think the problem lies with this particular engine. I’m looking at a rebuilt engine, as mine has 215k on it and has had timing problems twice. First was at 193k and I had to use a non-Ford kit. Which brings me to 215k and something jumped time. Rather than buying a new truck, I’ll spend $3,500 and hopefully be in good shape for at least 100,000 more miles.
Man totally rebuilt an engine for a friend of mine who had another guy that tore down the entire engine and left it in pieces and never finished it. I watch your video over and over and every step of the process went as smooth or smoother than what you showed. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE DETAIL AND TIME YOU PUT INTO THESE VIDEOS😎
Nice job. I've done it both ways, and removing the cab on those trucks to put an engine in is my favorite. Plus, the look on the customer's face when he sees his frame on the ground an body in the air is priceless.
Excellent video. That last thing you said about the alternator screaming just solved a huge question I had about my other truck. Tons of searching and all the "answers" and "fixes" didn't work. This alone was worth the time watching this video. Thanks!
Brain your the best mechanic on UA-cam. Your tips and tricks are the most valuable. I thank you for helping Ford owners work on thier intimidating vehicles. Your the best. I can tell you are a great dad. When your don dropped the engine too far you kept your cool. We need more people like you.
I rebuilt my first engine when I was 17. I had a SCJ Torino and my brother in law was a mechanic with that kind of patience too! At the end I was putting in the distributor and somehow a socket fell down in the motor. I almost cried! I sat there for 2 hours with a magnet fishing, asking my brother in law if he thought it would move if we left it in. He kept telling me we just need to lift it back up, take off the pan and get it out. (that was faster than the time I played with the magnet) He let me make the decision and I'm glad I followed his advice. No leaks and after priming, the beast fired up the first try. I wish I had that car now! and a 69 fast back 69 Barracuda. He was more of a brother to me than my own.
That engine came down quick! But hey, who hasn’t done that once or twice...that’s called an attention getter from where I’m from...it’s great you and your son could do this together. My sons are getting more and more involved in wrenching. I’m proud to pass that ability down...thanks for this Brian...
Poor Alex, it scared the shit out of me when I was watching it. We all make simple mistakes but it's good to see he kept going and didn't let it bother him. Hell sometimes I have a hard time remembering left and right when I'm focused on not breaking something lol.
i have to say it, there are a lot of engine how to’s on youtube but usually they gloss over quite of bit of information or they just won’t include the information and leave you to “figure it out”.... This video like most of your videos is thoroughly informative and i thank you for that!😃👍🏿
Great tips Brian. You may remember about one year ago I did exactly that to my 04, I had emailed you regarding questions about my build. Your knowledge on these trucks is greatly appreciated. While the engine was out i did trans rebuild and u-joint replacement as well. Since then I raised the front end 2 inch to level the truck, replaced the struts and springs (O'reillys cheapies, don't recommend), rebuild front suspension all Moog parts, clean up entire frame, two coats rust encapsulate (I used chassis saver, I'm from the "D" road salt sucks) and satin black top coat. 20,000 miles still going strong. Peace
I admire your patience and the fact that you didn't edit your son learning through his mistake. It was a great learning experience for him without being yelled at. I know I would be yelling at mine. Love learning form you on the 5.4L 3V. Thanks for the educatation on the Cam Follower removal. I am living and repairing throug a P0017:00 Camshafat Position Correlation - Bank#1 Sensor B. The Error correlation for the two sides was -3.25 to the drivers and -20 to the passengers. I watched your video on the data stream. Everything is coming along really good just time consuming. Well thanks for always being great. I will continue to watch. Rob NYC
What a fantastic video. Thanks for the accuracy and completeness of all the various details necessary to complete a 5.4 engine replacement. Good to see son helping dad out.
This was awesome! I could not have fixed my truck without your in depth walk through! I really appreciate you taking the time out to make such an in depth and informative video. It took me two solid weeks but the truck runs like a dream! Thanks again!
In all seriousness. Its good you didn’t cut it out. It a full tutorial of how things could go bad. Not all perfect like some other channel that edit all the mistakes out. I really enjoy your videos. Make one for cylinder heads update to the new spark plug when overhauling an engine👍
Awesome video as always. A Godsend for all of us "aspiring" mechanics. Anyone who has a teenage son will love the video at the 22 minute mark. A sign of a good father is using this as a teaching moment and keeping your cool. Well done.
Best thing this video did: convinced me to hire this out. My 2009 Ford 3-valve is the reason I drive a 2014 Chevy. Any plumber can explain galvanic response and how you use insulators to prevent it. Ford just mates ferrous with alloy directly and hopes the ground straps are enough. Incredible.
Brian, Great video set, thank you! (and Im not even a truck guy but I am a Ford guy). Alex did good - Ive let a few engines down too fast in my day too. My son (16) is working on getting his drivers licence now. Congrads to Alex on getting his. God bless Paul (in MA)
Thank you for making all these 3valve videos. I’ve used your timing set replacement video many times now for deleting the phasers and replacing the rest on multiple trucks. I am using this one now and you just make my work so easy. Watch a minute or two, do what you show, watch some more, repeat. Next thing you know you’re done.
The engine drop reminded me of....well me, back when my old man was teaching me how to work on cars. Awesome video, makes me alot more comfortable tackling this job when my 4.6 3v decides to kick the bucket
Thank you for these videos. I recently bought a cheap 2006 f-150 with a blown 5.4 3v and finished the swap today. I referred to your videos many many times on disassembly and reassembly. It has been 20 years since my last engine swap and I have done many in the past but a 5.4 3V is a bad choice to start back into it lol. This truck is just for myself so I am picking away at it. I expect with the used engine, price of the truck and all the parts for safety and refurbish to be around $3500 CAD
FordTechMakuloco well Brian you’re a good dad. My dad was also very patient and always tried to turn every misadventure into a “learning experience.” Regarding tomorrow, thank you for your service
I did this sitting in an unfamiliar crane, lowering a generator into a Letourneau(google it)at a sawmill. The generator weighs 6 tons, and the two mechanics were very good at keeping out of harms way for just this reason. There were many guys there missing fingers! I would say we were all lucky that day, but if you aren't in the way, everyone goes home uninjured!
It's why I don't like cherry pickers, overhead hoist is the only sure way to do this. I've done the cherry picker method and this is why I don't use it anymore.
These videos were great. My son's 2004 F150 2wd with the 5.4 Triton ate an intake valve. I watched these two videos several times and was able to swap in a rebuilt engine. I delivered the truck to him yesterday and it is running Great!!! Thanks for the help.
please dont hurt your self...even know I don't like fords...I really enjoy your videos....for some reason...I admire your patience and intelligence...keep bringing hope on this trucks...buddy...I like your work...in general...
Hella good job, and explanation for the whole process. Sold off my 06 Lariat for a newer F150 with the 5.0. I'll miss those quick air filter changes on the 5.4 3v.
I use those old plastic housing gas filters (paper media) for the rear-axle vent tube. I've almost dropped an engine like that before. Broke out in a cold sweat. They need to improve those release valves on the cherry pickers! Great to see some father/son interaction. You're son is lucky; his teacher is one of the best.
Great detail to everything its good to know there are still caum people like you that explain every detail for us I've been mecanicing for 47 yrs and this was very helpful to watch you you have a great demeanor keep on wrenching ,,,and thank you
What are you gonna do ,it was over and done with and it wasn't on purpose .All getting crazy is gonna do is make things worse and make his son not want to do things like this again with his old man.
I have seen profession technicians accidentally drop too fast and the engine bangs down hard. Like Brian said, not much could get hurt that couldn't be fixed. It happens sometimes.
Awesome video. I learned a lot. I like to take the front wheels off and lower the truck down until the front rotors are few inches off the ground. Lowers the working height. Makes working so much easier. Lay the front wheels down in the front of the bumper for a step stool. Also take that hood latch off..that thing digs into your gut.
Hey Brian, just swapped out my first motor and it went perfect-ish, aside from a few rookie mistakes. I torqued the intake to 18 ft/lbs instead of in/lbs on first sequence. And ofcourse i broke 3 off in the head. Thank you for your great videos! My 05 lives on!
Now that I have my screen wiped off after I spit Coke all over it when that engine dropped. I'm not surprised so much from the engine drop as much as I am at how quickly your son put the brakes on. Gravity is not always our friend.
Brian, thankyou for this video, ESPECIALLY the torque settings and special tools you used. I'm familiar with the 2005 IMRC circuit. Seeing that one on the back of the engine brought back memories of the two problems I had with a vehicle. That vehicle had the engine replaced. Later on I found out why. A stuck open intake valve in the Number 7 (3rd one in passenger side) which allowed combustion flame and gases into the intake, melting the IMRC flapper valve and no movement from the system. New intake fixed that. Something happened to the small wires to the IMRC harness before I got it, so I rewired from the connector to a known good part of the harness. All together, checked the system operation with the IDS, all good. The road test was WOW! Very good power and put a smile on my face! Thanks again Brian!
At least he caught it, closed the valve. My pops would have freaked. I drilled a hole in the jack handles, use a bolt inserted, to control preasure... Similar to a basin wrench. Great job explaining, showing slow positioning, rather then brute force!
Wow. Dropping these high tech engines. So much to look out for damaging delicate parts. My experiences helping with engine swaps, (long ago, in simpler times) so much easier. Only thing we did different was using wood and cardboard in the engine bay to shoehorn it into the final drop location and then remove the wood (like pieces of wall paneling) and/or cardboard. This would make any mishaps, as we saw here, from causing too much grief. Loved the details and tips. Excellent video and audio production values we've come to love from your workshop to our homes
I've learned so much from you, thank you. I'm glad you showed your son making a slight mistake in the video dropping the crane down unexpectedly-- good man. I'm sure you're a great dad alongside a great mechanic. Cheers from Edmonton
Nice work, Brian! 👍🍻 That truck is sweet - gonna last a good, long time now. A worthy investment, for sure. You know what they say - vehicles, like wives, "It's always cheaper to keep 'er". 😁
As far as your son letting the engine drop too fast, there are two kinds of mechanics, those you have done that and those who are going to do that. He caught it, that's the main thing. Good job!
The new ones must be alright,he wouldn't use them if he thought they were junk,if you've been following this guy for a while you'd trust his judgement ,he knows these Tritons like the back of his hand.If he says they are good enough, trust me they are good enough.
AWESOME....Watched the complete 2 parts & honestly learned so much that I'm no longer intimidated on taking a project such as this ON. Thank You not only for your tutorial but for not yelling out when your son lowered the hoist a bit to fast👊💯👊💯. I don't know if I would have had the restraint. 😊 Props to ur son YOU did AWESOME TOO👍👊💪💯💯💯
Hey you were great when the engine dropped,,tell your son he did great I've done a lot of things just like that but that's how we learn ,,,but the look on your face ,,,,,priceless great content he's learning a lot with a great dad like you
Thank you so much for making this video. I’m helping a friend reinstall his newly rebuilt 5.4 after another guy pulled it and this is my first ever for engine. This was exactly what I need to get the job done RIGHT!!! Huge THANK YOU!!! Subed up and look forward to more content!!👍🏻👍🏻💯
I'm just a DIY guy for mostly simple repairs for my 2005 Ford Expedition. I am not very mechanically oriented but over the years have learned by doing, reading, listening to others and of course watching videos etc. Your level of knowledge and expertise is incredible! You are the "Doctor of all things mechanical." Additionally, when you consider and think of the incredible level of science, physics and engineering that is involved with the internal combustion engine, it makes you appreciate the advancement of mankind in relationship to industry and technology. It wasn't that long ago, say 250 years, that man either walked or used an animal for transportation. This mode of transportation had continued for 5000 years! To see all of the intricate detail and how things are synchronized together just right - its amazing. We were created in God's image and likeness - the ability to create, think, invent, use logic and solve problems. Great job Doctor!
This proves the saying If you want it done right, do it yourself. I doubt you could find tech that would give it this level of attention to detail. I’m trying to make a checklist from your videos. Thanks so much. My first new vehicle was this 2004 f150. Lucky me.
I changed both exhaust manifolds and used stainless steel studs and bolts went on like a like a dream no more noise no more exhaust noise I've got enough for the dual exhaust
Dude! Your Channel is awesome 👏 😎! I just bought a 2001 Ford Super Duty XL 5.4 V8 Triton 12/12/2020. Now I know where to come to swap the engine or do any of its engine maintenance. Your almost step-by-step process was impeccable!
Muchly appreciate you sharing all the information. Don't stop doin these videos we need guys like you that actually know this shit and can explain it clearly.
Hey there! i just wanted to say thanks. Your videos were a huge help to me while swapping the engine in my 2005 f150. I put a 2013 5.4 in there and utilized many of your videos along the way. You are a badass!
Thank you. Nice job with the video. Concise and to the point. Kudos for not editing out the boom drop. A very common and dangerous mistake for novices. It's good that they see it but so glad you didn't get hurt. I'll bet your son doesn't do that again.
Can't thank you enough, BEST video series master mechanic I've ever seen on You Tube. I've been twisting wrenches 50 years now, but you are so so detailed, calm, accurate, and real, with no silliness, your videos are so professional, and I am a professional also, so I really admire your demeanor, including how well you handled your son, just amazing! You have been my go to for Ford's about a year now. I hate Ford's but you make it easy and I feel guilty making money off your training. 😎😁 Because of you, I ended up buying an 2008 F150 FX4 too! Purrs right now, but I know what's coming haha... I have swapped out and done other phaser jobs before, but you've given expert advise even on component part selection, ie, Helping pump, Ford vs Dorman XD phaser, etc. Love your technic, please please keep it up. I am semi retired now at 63, newer built home shop with 4 post hoist, I still do customers and a bit of hot rodding, but for some difficult jobs like the 5.4, I'd be hard pressed without you bro!!!!
I just wanted to say these videos on motor removal and installation are very good I’m a guy who knows very little about working on cars but my 4.6 blew a head gasket in 05 f150 and I came across your videos and I will say with the help of these videos so far I have the motor ready to pull I just have to cut the manifold anyways I just wanted to say out of all of the videos I have found yours by far was the best it was step by step showing what to do video well done thank you
I have no plans on changing any engines beyond my motorcycle but this was super impressive because to me that all looked like a nightmare. It's like he has done this once or twice before.

I thought the same thing. This guy is a great mechanic and obviously a great dad. Everyone is always learning and yelling only discourages.
Maybe he yelled at him after the video 🤣

Yup, I have done it myself as a professional with experience while working at the dealer so how can I fault a 16yr old kid with minimal experience?
@@FordTechMakuloco very professional and thank you for doing this to help other people you are awesome

Nice! Thats a crazy story but useful info too🙂🙃🥳
Great info
Had the same issue with the oil priming. Thanks to your comment I knew what to do! 😊
I'm very happy to help!
I had the EXACT same issue and was fully prepared to wash my hands of it and have it towed to a shop. But…this worked like a charm. Amazingly helpful post.

You can tell a lot about a person's character by how they handle a potential crisis. Professional grade material.
Any tips?
My heart stopped when that engine dropped!! :)
Me too.
Well he did have a spare oil pan
Brian didn’t even flinch, what a pro!!!
I couldn't believe that happened... should have instruct his helper a bit better in not to do that, I bet it could have damaged a brand new engine...
Watched this for the 1st time, now i need new under wear.
Just installed a reman engine from powertrain company! Your videos are extremely valuable! Thanks!
When I worked around my Dad, I got a little nervous too Alex. You did a very good job and Brian has a great helper.
Anyone who's ever swapped out a engine can relate to that drop lol content is awesome my man 👍
Did the whole motor swap by myself using part1/part2. At 21 doing my first swap, pretty cool! How awesome is UA-cam?
Man you went the extra mile on details excellent job and superior quality!!
My son and I just got his power train engine running tonight. We could not have done it without your videos.
How is the engine doing now?
@@carlcelle2060 running great !
Peace
Nice upgrades it sounds like. I'm in NewYork and need to do same to my 2010 rusty frame under under body
Rob NYC
Thank you for your videos. I just replaced my 5.4 and followed along with you. Many helpful tips that made it easy.
Thank you
I’m not a professional mechanic but watching this guy I learned a lot of stuff now I can fix stuff on my 2006 Ford F-150
What a fantastic video. Thanks for the accuracy and completeness of all the various details necessary to complete a 5.4 engine replacement. Good to see son helping dad out.
Everyday I watch your channel. I'm working mostly ford trucks.Fleet service. As new immigrant here in Canada..it really helps me a lot. GOD BLESS
I was impressed by the way you kept your cool when the engine dropped great stuff thanks
Yup, I have done it myself as a professional with experience while working at the dealer so how can I fault a 16yr old kid with minimal experience?
Awesome video as always. A Godsend for all of us "aspiring" mechanics. Anyone who has a teenage son will love the video at the 22 minute mark. A sign of a good father is using this as a teaching moment and keeping your cool. Well done.
Great job Brian.. Especially teaching us and the next generation. . Thanks for taking the time to do this.....
Brian the Ford God helped us again. Hands down the best DIY channel for Fords on UA-cam.
one of the best mechanical videos I've ever seen! Thanks for all for all of the effort and detail.
Incredible.
Brian,
Great video set, thank you! (and Im not even a truck guy but I am a Ford guy). Alex did good - Ive let a few engines down too fast in my day too. My son (16) is working on getting his drivers licence now. Congrads to Alex on getting his.
God bless
Paul (in MA)
23:08 the main thing is, nobody got hurt. Anybody who claims to not have done this is a liar
Yup, I have done it myself as a professional with experience while working at the dealer so how can I fault a 16yr old kid with minimal experience?
Everyone has to learn. Great job being patient.
These videos were great. My son's 2004 F150 2wd with the 5.4 Triton ate an intake valve. I watched these two videos several times and was able to swap in a rebuilt engine. I delivered the truck to him yesterday and it is running Great!!! Thanks for the help.
I love the 5.4.. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
330,000 miles on mine.. didn't do the timing job til 300,000.
Yep I love it too. Just take care of it.
please dont hurt your self...even know I don't like fords...I really enjoy your videos....for some reason...I admire your patience and intelligence...keep bringing hope on this trucks...buddy...I like your work...in general...
Well done. Thank you for taking the time to film and edit this video.
I always dreaded helping my father with ANYTHING! I would always get my ass chewed out!
haha same, at least when i was real young he understood it was part of the process
Great detail to everything its good to know there are still caum people like you that explain every detail for us I've been mecanicing for 47 yrs and this was very helpful to watch you you have a great demeanor keep on wrenching ,,,and thank you
I don't know how you stayed so calm when your kid dropped the engine..
It was over the frame at that point not much could get hurt that I can’t fix.
This is what makes Brian such a great teacher. Zen Master Brian
We have all done it, just fix what got broke or bent and move on.
You my man, explain everything that chilton leaves out.
I missed these two videos when they first came out and they are masterpieces. I don't think there's a better video of this procedure anywhere.
Now that I have my screen wiped off after I spit Coke all over it when that engine dropped. I'm not surprised so much from the engine drop as much as I am at how quickly your son put the brakes on. Gravity is not always our friend.
Don't miss my 5.4 . Love my 14 5.0 . Happy veterans day brother.
That was so kool, a learning experience for him. That’s how you learn: )
Great job and explanation, you assistant did a great jod!
At least he caught it, closed the valve. My pops would have freaked. I drilled a hole in the jack handles, use a bolt inserted, to control preasure... Similar to a basin wrench. Great job explaining, showing slow positioning, rather then brute force!
23:06 is the best part of the video🤣
Kids got good aim, he knew right where it was going. He's just impatient is all. 😅 congrats on your license bro. Great video guys. 🙂
Congrats Alex!
Drive safe.
I'm guilty of jumping when the engine dropped too! Dang
I've learned so much from you, thank you. I'm glad you showed your son making a slight mistake in the video dropping the crane down unexpectedly-- good man. I'm sure you're a great dad alongside a great mechanic.
Cheers from Edmonton
Nice work, Brian! 👍🍻
That truck is sweet - gonna last a good, long time now.
Good job!
Oh I’ve done it before early on in my career so I figured how can I fault him.
I don’t want Dorman anything, especially Dorman crap installed inside my engine. Surprised you don’t go Ford Reman.
The new ones must be alright,he wouldn't use them if he thought they were junk,if you've been following this guy for a while you'd trust his judgement ,he knows these Tritons like the back of his hand.If he says they are good enough, trust me they are good enough.
The XD phasers are doing fine so far but no this engine had all Ford components.
😊 Props to ur son YOU did AWESOME TOO👍👊💪💯💯💯
04:52 I always end in their rear
Hey you were great when the engine dropped,,tell your son he did great I've done a lot of things just like that but that's how we learn ,,,but the look on your face ,,,,,priceless great content he's learning a lot with a great dad like you
23:08 woah!
Butt puckering action
Completely rebuilt my 5.4 and reinstalled it runs like a dream!! Second one I've done thanks to your videos thank you very much for your help
Lucky me.
Thank You for taking the TIME TO MAKE ALL these Videos on the 5.4L 3V . George Amodei :)
BOTH VIDEOS WERE GREAT, GLAD YOU HAD YOUR SON INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS, HOPEFULLY HE IS LEARNIG A GOOD WORK ETHIC FROM HIS DAD LIKE I DID!
I changed both exhaust manifolds and used stainless steel studs and bolts went on like a like a dream no more noise no more exhaust noise I've got enough for the dual exhaust
We've all been there Alex. Your dad handled it better than most lol
Man that's like the ultimate gift a brand new shiny engine.
Hey there! i just wanted to say thanks.
I have done it a time or two in my early days I really could not fault him.
excellent video, not every detail is lost, a lot of patience, excellent mechanic, your videos are gems, thank you Brayan
Because of you, I ended up buying an 2008 F150 FX4 too!
I just wanted to say these videos on motor removal and installation are very good I’m a guy who knows very little about working on cars but my 4.6 blew a head gasket in 05 f150 and I came across your videos and I will say with the help of these videos so far I have the motor ready to pull I just have to cut the manifold anyways I just wanted to say out of all of the videos I have found yours by far was the best it was step by step showing what to do video well done thank you
23:07 Classic but I can appreciate the fact that your teaching the young man.
I have no plans on changing any engines beyond my motorcycle but this was super impressive because to me that all looked like a nightmare. It's like he has done this once or twice before.
