Movin' like the fog on the Cumberland River I was leaving on the Delta Queen I wasn't ready to go I'm never ready to go Twenty-seven years of nothin' but failures and promises that I couldn't keep Oh lord I wasn't ready to go I'm never ready to go Let it ride Let it ride easy down the road Let it ride Let it take away all of the darkness Let it ride Let it rock me in the arms of strangers, angels until it brings me home Let it ride Let it roll Let it go Loaded like a sailor Tumbling off a ferry boat I was at the bar till three Oh Lord, and I wasn't ready to go I'm never ready to go Tennessee's a brother to my sister Carolina where they're gonna bury me And I ain't ready to go I'm never ready to go Let it ride let it ride easy down the road Let it ride Let it take away all of this darkness Let it ride Let it rock me in the arms of strangers, angels until it brings me home Let it ride Let it roll Let it go I want to see you tonight Dancing in the endless moonlight In the parking lot in the headlights of cars Someplace on the moon Where they moved the drive-in theater Where I left the car that I can't find but I still got the keys to Let it ride Let it ride easy down the road Let it ride Let it take away all of this darkness Let it ride Let it rock me in the arms of strangers, angels until it brings me home Let it ride Let it roll Let it go
Yes, the drummer is remarkable. The band sounds fantastic in every way. And, of course, Ryan Adams is an angel sent from heaven. He heals my heart by breaking it. It's really quite astounding. "And I just wanna die without you." Those lyrics, with that melody simultaneously break and repair my heart. How does that work? Please, fill me in. I want to know. I want to understand what's happening.
@@julidobson9101 you can't say a singer songwriter who has been out since the early 90s sounds like an artist who first released something in 2010... the Cold Roses album came out 11 years before Cautionary Tale.
27 years of nothing but failures and promises that i couldn't keep.... 😔
Movin' like the fog on the Cumberland River
I was leaving on the Delta Queen
I wasn't ready to go
I'm never ready to go
Twenty-seven years of nothin' but failures and promises that I couldn't keep
Oh lord I wasn't ready to go
I'm never ready to go
Let it ride
Let it ride easy down the road
Let it ride
Let it take away all of the darkness
Let it ride
Let it rock me in the arms of strangers, angels until it brings me home
Let it ride
Let it roll
Let it go
Loaded like a sailor
Tumbling off a ferry boat
I was at the bar till three
Oh Lord, and I wasn't ready to go
I'm never ready to go
Tennessee's a brother to my sister Carolina where they're gonna bury me
And I ain't ready to go
I'm never ready to go
Let it ride let it ride easy down the road
Let it ride
Let it take away all of this darkness
Let it ride
Let it rock me in the arms of strangers, angels until it brings me home
Let it ride
Let it roll
Let it go
I want to see you tonight
Dancing in the endless moonlight
In the parking lot in the headlights of cars
Someplace on the moon
Where they moved the drive-in theater
Where I left the car that I can't find but I still got the keys to
Let it ride
Let it ride easy down the road
Let it ride
Let it take away all of this darkness
Let it ride
Let it rock me in the arms of strangers, angels until it brings me home
Let it ride
Let it roll
Let it go
I was at this absolutely special performance
this was an amazing line-up. and an amazing gig. easily the best band Ryan has had. Freddie on drums is something special.
Cardinals are still #1. But this rocks.

My favorite living artist!
Love this guy and his music came across him on krcl radio and hooked ever since
This is a great song... and a great lineup... This band backing Ryan was killer diller..
Love this guy his music is great and the lyrics are bad ass
Best performance at the whole festival & it wasn’t particularly close
Song featured in the movie Lucky You
LOVE THIS GUY......
I downloaded the full thing when it was up, but on an old pc. I'll have to boot it up and get the whole gig back online.
Yes you will! I was there and wanna relive it
And me. Son put whole thing on CD. No idea how. Great in the car. Ought to be released.
You may not be able to find it because it's a BBC recording and they are very hot on protecting their copyright!
love Ryan
Real decent guitarist old DRA
He has a unique voice but his music is kinda like Dylan Leblancin a way
Listsen to Dylan Leblanc cautionary tales and you'll n see what I mean
